We stayed in the upgraded lodge and it was wonderful, a huge comfy bed, free sky tv and wifi, good shower, walk in wardrobe and separate make up room! The food was excellent, with two vegetarian choices each night and for breakfast homemade vegetarian sausages, never had this in a hotel before anywhere. Friendly and attentative staff.

The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill, so may need a car

Excellent service. Attentive without being intrusive. Very good food, well presented. Comfortable lounge area. Beautiful grounds and quiet location but still close to the centre of Pitlochry. Bedroom very comfortable and spotlessly clean

    Staff Ambience

Classic Victorian hotel but could use a freshen up in decor and furnishings without destroying ambience. Meal times inflexible.Relatively expensive although currently a seller's market.

I loved everything about this hotel. The grounds were stunning and the room was HUGE! We stayed in a standard double room, with a luxurious bathroom and a large walk in wardrobe, which was a wonderful bonus. The staff are lovely, very warm and welcoming with nothing being a hassle. The food was amazing and the menu changes everyday for dinner so you're never stuck for choice. Our stay there was so good we are booking again very soon for an even longer stay. Wonderful hotel!

There was nothing that I didn't like about this hotel.

Pine Trees is a beautiful, traditional Scottish building with very comfortable lounge areas. The food was first class. The hotel receptionists were very welcoming and helpful.

Communication with the waiting staff in the dining room was difficult as none spoke fluent English.

Entrance area and overall ambiance of main rooms. Location

bedrooms felt dated, place shabby and overall feeling that a deep clean was needed.

the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the location is great - hidden away but still close to the centre of Pitlochray. Very clean and quiry inside.

The breakfast coffee was not as good as the rest of the breakfast on offer - a small price to pay for an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Perfect medium sized country hotel about 10 minutes walk down a quiet hill to Pitlochry town centre. Good breakfast and comfortable room at the back of the hotel (single glazed old sash windows) meant you could hear noisy air conditioning unit below window. There not a lift installation if you have difficulty walking but the main staircase is wide and not too steep and easy to manage Bar was closed at 10.15 pm when we arrived back from dining in the town centre but everything else fine. Excellent breakfast in the morning.

Slightly dated old bedroom furniture/ wardrobes and the en suite bathroom fittings and wall tiling are a little old fashioned but adequate.
