The hotel was stunning with log fires on cool evenings and comfortable lounges and bar. The restaurant was very attractive and beautifully decorated with first class food and service. The staff were very attentive and ensured that our every need was catered for. We had a fantastic suite with very large bedroom and bathroom together with a dressing room and a room for make-up etc. It was amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable and huge. We could not fault anything.

An efficient dining room serving excellent food. We were served and waited on by a very friendly and helpful staff each of whom gave special attention to us. We find it flattering to be reminded precisely when we were at the hotel last. Without the aid of hotel records!!

The hotel was well located with beautiful grounds. Good value for money. Excellent for a quiet relaxing weekend. Meals were of good value. The female receptionist was rather cold and unfriendly in her welcome. Not a great first impression. Parts of the large reception hall needed a bit of dusting!

The hotel is situated at the very end of a long windy road uphill and there is no courtesy bus to bring you down to the local railway station if you don't have your own transport. It is decorated in a very dated manner and one particular member of staff at reception acted in a peculiar manner. Upon arrival she was not at all friendly and I had to make efforts to converse in order to convince myself I was welcome! I asked if I could stay for lunch the next day and I was the only resident taking lunch- the place was spookily empty. I heard everything through my bedroom walls- I have never experienced hearing every snore and conversation like this before. They woke me at 6.3- talking. I rang reception and they said I had to tell the room inhabitants myself to be quieter, and to email the manager. The following day I asked the same woman I had met at first at reception if the manager was around and she said she was a kind of manager herself- when I asked her if she had received my email she never apologised for my lack of sleep but told me she had read it. When I got home I saw she had emailed me chastising me for emailing the management and also saying she felt she had a right to treat me with lack of respect because I ought to have spoken with her! I replied that the early morning staff had informed me there was no manager and had advised me to email instead, Since this reply I have had no further communication from her. There seemed to be no customer relations whatsoever and nearly all the residents were elderly. The rest of the staff are from Romania and there was a sad air about the place, as well as something of a heavy atmosphere. I would advise people not to go there unless they wanted to waste their money in pokey bedrooms with tatty furniture- the chair I sat on was falling apart on the first floor!

Nice location, ample parking, quality of the service was very good. Nice big room, comfortable bed. A bit disappointed with the meal which was nice enough but a bit bland. For the money would have expected something more adventurous. Despite the room being nicely presented the air-con was inconsistent and made the room stuffy at night.

The Staff and Breakfast was excellent. The Coffee was disgusting and most meat dishes were slightly overcooked to my liking.

Quiet and peaceful location, beautiful furnishings in both public areas and room. Staff, particularly in the dining room, were very pleasant and attentive while serving guests. Dinner in tems of menu choice and quality of food was absolutely excellent with a daily change of menu. Could not fault anything during our 3 night stay in the Hotel's suite ( which was huge!) and felt it was exellent value for money.

Excellent service and perfect food. Location was good. Hotel is not very close to the theatre we were visiting. However the staff were able to arrange a suitable taxi. Room was comfortable although there was a sound of a fan from the ground floor throughout the night.

Comfortable, lots of nice seating areas to meet up with friends to chat or play board games. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent with a nice selection on the menu to cater for all tastes. Overall a very pleasant experience. No lift to access bedrooms. The staff took the luggage up but it was difficult bringing it down oneself when leaving. Although I was fit and agile, I noted some elderly patrons found the stairs difficult. It was dog friendly which was not a problem but might have been had there been lots of people with animals staying at the same time.

Comfortable and clean accommodation. The suite allocated to us in the annexe was pure luxury, excellent furnishings and facilities. Good food at Dinner and breakfast served by friendly and professional staff. Public areas really relaxing to sit in and full of charm. Single bedroom on first floor very Small and the shower room very compact. Area outside new annexe needs some landscaping to enhance what is a beautiful building inside and out.

We loved the way the staff greeted us on arrival the food was just great, a diffrent choice every night. The hotel was warm and friendly and the staff were there to do all they could for us.The only thing my husband was upset about no draft beer but that could have been because of the time of year that we went winter. A good choice of wine made up for the beer.Would love to go back if we are ever in scotland again I can not think of one thing that I would change the hotel is perfect

We have stayed in the hotel many times and feel very comfortable there, with good service, pleasant helpful staff and outstanding food, all at a reasonable price. It is a good area to stay in with Theatre, walking, tourist shops and a good base to tour around an interesting part of Scotland.

The minute you arrived the staff were very helpful at reception and for collecting our bags from the car.The room we were in had a comfortable sitting room from the bedroom, and ensuite bathroom all very well presented. Dinner in the Garden Restuarant was of a high standard and served with a smile, coffee was served in the lounge that had a roaring log fire. Through out the hotel every aspect of it was to a high standard, Breakfast was as good as the dinner the night before with choice and serves to match. We will be back sooner rather than later.
