- The friendliness and helpfulness of every staff member we encountered, in some cases well beyond what one would normally expect. - The beautiful old-worldly decor. - The cosy bar area. The shower fittings (at least in our room) need to be renovated: far too easy to knock the tap towards hot and receive a scalding from the extremely hot water.

Lovely grounds. Building has character. Nice room in the coachmans quarters, quite quirky. Good location for shopping, mountain walking, country side, local town with entertainment. We were packed into the conservatory and on quite a few occasions i had to get up and move my chair as i was eating so people could get passed with pushchairs. For this reason we chose to eat elsewhere in the evening, no apology given, just pack them in to make as much money over xmas period. I would of willingly ate in the breakfast room which was lovely. I also thought i had paid with you but i had not.

Not very much. The premises are tired and need refurbishment . The lighting is very low in the public areas . Bedroom etc first class, clean and comfortable. My parents had driven over 5 hours from Norfolk. As they attempted to register a coach of evening diners arrived. The staff, thought it more important to serve the coach party with alcohol before booking my parents in. My mother and father are aged 80 years old. This was a Monday night. They waited for more than 10 minutes to be served, with little apology than " we are busy " ! When they enquired about an evening meal, without being even asked as guests, would they require one, they were told to be quick because the hotel was busy. Plas Hafod, you were an absolute disgrace to two elderly people who only booked because unti the last few years lived within a mile of you, and they thought that you were the best. Shame on you. How can a bus full of drinkers/diners ever take precedent over a paying guest ? Your explanation would be appreciated.

I liked the fact that we had access to outside although the patio furniture was rather poor and there was an overflowing ashtray on the table! The food was very good. We had our wedding reception here 34 years ago when it had just opened and the place still has a good reputation. The lighting in the en-suite and room was very inadequate and nowhere to put toilet bags etc.

Very customer focus staff in a family run hotel set in lovely grounds. Very quiet and relaxing with individual rooms in a traditional style. Breakfast was fresh cooked and very enjoyable. I will use again. Need to be aware that morning taxi availability is limited.

Beautiful grounds - friendly staff - excellent food Room was comfortable but obviously designed long ago with rather antiquated furniture. Several amateurish repairs eg pieces of string for light pulls and several trailing wander sockets.
