Located on the open plain, just 6 miles from Snowdonia National Park and 5 minutes' drive from the Menai Bridge leading to the Isle of Anglesey, this former farm has been transformed into a stylish...

Music pumped through hotel corridors even at 9am. Can hear it in the room so can't get a decent lie in. I now hate Jamie Callum more than I did before. Bar staff were poor.
The cottage was beautiful, warm, comfortable and VERY spacious! We felt spoilt! The kitchen had almost everything we needed and the bedrooms were all comfortable. Showers were amazing too! The castle looked wonderful too and we were invited to explore it...if only we'd had more time!
There was a problem with the kitchen lights, as well as in one of the bedrooms. The phone in the cottage didn't work, so we had to go over to reception in the rain. There was a dishwasher, but no tablets to use it.
the staff are excellent and the room (duke) was amazing!!!! view from room was breathtaking!!
Friendliness of staff and made to feel at home. The chateau itself is beautiful and comfortable.
The public areas in the hotel were very nice, there were many areas where you could relax.
It was not possible to eat at the hotel on arrival at 18.30, seemed a little ridiculous. No room service available, this is not a five star hotel!!
Fantastic venue, great location, stunning views, very friendly and helpful staff at reception.
Tried to get a drink in the bar, there was no staff (at 6.30pm on a Saturday), when we finally found someone, it was clear that it was not exactly an experienced barman: he had no idea what an 'old fashioned' was, when we asked for a suggestion, he came up with 'beer?'. A hotel of this standard should really do better and provide a better service in this area...
Stunning hotel, couldn't fault it. Bedroom was lovely, with great facilities. Stayed for the dining experience and that was also really nice, very accommodating to dietary needs/dislikes. Staff couldn't do enough.
Location Room Bed
Staff Food Detailed cleanliness
The room was great and the staff very friendly also the breakfast was good.
No resturant only the dining experience and with a small child this was not an option. I do feel the hotel is missing an opportunity as with out the resturant which we would have been happy to eat in instead of going out every night which was a pain. Parking spaces marked would be an idea as cars general fill the car park any which way they feel like so you have no option but to use the second car park which has many steps so for the elderly or carrying asleep kids this is hard work for the sake if a few white lines.
Beautiful castle, beautiful rooms, wonderful views
The building is fabulous, such A change from stark modern Hotels ! The staff were all very friendly and accommadating. Best breakfast yet in a hotel and the banquet was very tasty. We will visit again.
The second car park had very deep potholes, I was worried they would damage my car.
The views from the hotel were beautiful and we had a lovely overnight stay. I was not aware however that Chateau was a welsh word as the name of the hotel seemed a little old given it's location overlooking the Menai Straits
The feeling of a unique historical and quirky building and gardens. Wonderful views of the Menai Straits. Staff helpful, breakfasts very good.
Cracked basin and damp in bathroom, which we believe is being attended to soon.
Best hotel I've ever stayed in.
Loved the welcome, first time I have ever been personally shown to a bedroom and given a tour of the facilities. Receptionist (Sunday/Monday) was lovely. Fluffy towels, tasty and fresh breakfast.
There was nothing not to like, can't wait to go back.
The building is fantastic with gardens to match
car parking restricted
Gorgeous setting with a very relaxed atmosphere. Helpful friendly staff.
At over £200 per night I expect everything to be faultless, it wasn't. No key to open balcony window. Bathroom was suffering from damp. Limited dining facilities. Sorry but accommodation just not polished enough.
Beautiful historic building and furnishings. Tastefully decorated in keeping with building.
Insufficient parking spaces for size of hotel. Additional parking inaccessible due to poorly maintained access road. Had to park on main road and walk back to hotel. No air conditioning - only able to open one small window. No fridge/milk. No room service. Cups not cleaned. Mould on shower ceiling. No restaurant. Only a fixed menu "dinning experience". General staff very friendly but attitude of management very elitist and appeared focused on diners rather than hotel residents - Fawlty Towers "Gourmet Night".
Splendid views of the Menai Straits Excellent accommodation
amazing interiors and furnishings, amazing views and location, amazing grounds, such an interesting place (on many levels) the shower bathroom in the turret room was amazing.
the staff were hard to find, there was rarely anyone on reception desk, staff were unhelpful not knowing their way around the place, i ask where the dining room was for breakfast and told downstairs turn right when infact it was down 2 floors and turn left. i missed breakfast that day coz i didnt find dining room in time. i would have liked to have dinner and it said in info book before was it 5pm or 6pm but i was told to late at 4.45pm when i asked. when i asked what the menu was they couldnt tell me coz it would not be ready till 6.30pm. i wanted to book for dinner the following night but wasnt prepared to spend £90 for 2 plus wine on a no choice menu that i had know idea what would be on it, my wife is vegetarian and i was enthused by the response that you wanted to cater for that. as no other food is available in the premises at any other time of course we didn't spend any time or money in the chateau which questions weather that is cost effective for you, you could have got another 200 quid out of me.i would stay there again but would have to bring a packed lunch.
Not too clean and absolutely no service
Magnificent property with perfect garden and fantastic views! Staff was excellent, extremely friendly and helpful.
room was noisy could hear staff walking above us sounded like a herd of elephants breakfast was appalling choice was so poor for the price we paid the worst value breakfast Ive ever had
Our 5th time at this wonderful hotel. We stayed in the dukes suite this visit which is stunning with beautiful views across the Menai strait from the windows. We will be back and next time the duchess suite is on my list.
