We all enjoyed the food, we had breakfast and evening meal. The menu was varied and of high quality produce.
We like the location. The hotel is clean, and comfortable. Staff very friendly and obliging. Food good and reasonably priced.
No negatives to report.
Very comfortable stay.Slept like a log.
close to M4 and road to Brecons. Staff very friendly
A little jaded - needs some improvements, but good price I guess
The room in the annex was fantastic
Feeling of home
Good location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Room was cold to start with due to heating being on a timer which had not kicked in.
Very helpful staff when husband taken ill. Wide and interesting choice of food
No separate room for lounge. Our room had no outside window.
We were looking to stay in authentic pub/B&B accomodation so stayed in the older part of the original hotel, which suited us. The staff were very helpful and pleased to assist in any way possible. Food and bar service and quality were great during our stay.We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to other travellers in Wales.
only drawback in any of these older establishments is the stairs and no lift. however ther are rooms on the ground floor level in newer buildings so don't let this put you off.
The room was very light airy. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were pleasant & very helpful. The food was good & the conservatory where we ate was very nice
I thought the bathroom was tired & the décor could do with refreshing. it would be useful to have a light above the mirror in either the bathroom or the bedroom.
Convenient location. The view.
Hotel & room cold. Staff unhelpful & unwilling to turn heating timer on. No help with taking bags to room.Heating would not turn down overnight so room too hot. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times and it is tattier each time - last stay for us.
Room was ok but nothing special
Did not get made welcome didnt eat there at night as nothing suitable on.menu breakfast was awful the waiter was miserable didn't talk looked untidy all staff need a shake up or youll loose all your business
Location just off the main road was good. bed was comfortable. restaurant and bar areas welcoming.
heating was not on for our arrival but soon resolved although we were chilly to start with. room was walled with glass so felt a bit like a goldfish bowl.
Very poor Wi-Fi Very poor mobile signal Room phone not working Heating not working Room dirty Bed uncomfortable The staff knew about the above problems and neglected to inform me
The staff was wonderful. Breakfast was provided and was very good. We ate dinner one night, and it was delicious.
The room was too warm. There was no air conditioning (not unusual in the UK), but the windows did not open so there was no way to cool the room.
Good food in the restaurant and good ales in the bar, all at very reasonable prices. Location close enough to town to avail yourself of the facilities, yet far enough out of the centre to get a quiet nights sleep.
Good size rooms and friendly staff
Full of spiders, hundreds of them. Beds far too soft
The staff were very friendly the bedroom was a very size and comfortable
The choice of vegertain meals the bathroom was a bit dated
The pub and the food it was good and the staff were good at there job
Just the toilet old and dirty Floor
Quality of bedroom; pleasant staff; good parking area
dining area carpet not cleaned after use by wedding party shower didn't work
the bedroom was large. Good parking. Good shower. Pleasant staff.
The bathroom had insufficient storage space (just one little shelf above the sink) but was plenty big enough for this to have been incorporated. No shower cap. The mattress was in need of replacement as you could feel the springs. There was no food whatsoever served after 8pm on Sunday evening so we had to go into the town. This felt unacceptable for a hotel. Our bill had no receipts attached to it and an extra item had been added which was not ours and an insufficient explanation was given that 'the system sometimes adds on items that you haven't had' !!! When I further questioned this explanation I was told that 'it sometimes adds things on from the day before'. I didn't question further as clearly there was no logical explanation for the extra £12 that had been added to our bill. The assistant went off to check the receipts but never produced them and it felt like something was being covered over. This left us feeling concerned that had we not bothered to check the bill that we could have paid too much and they should have provided receipts for all additional items purchased, which they didn't. The waiter service at breakfast was lacking insomuch as they didn't remove the dirty plates before delivering the main course although it was clear there was hardly room to put the plates on the table! I asked for my boiled eggs to be not too runny and they arrived 'hard boiled'. my husband ordered poached eggs which were also hard boiled.
Lovely comfortable and homely hotel. Great food and very good service.
