really nice rooms
The location was great for the Pavillions ,the pool and breakfast were both very good.
The room was the grubbiest, dirtiest Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in, we kept our shoes on because the carpet was so dirty and I don't think anyone cleaned the bathroom, should have asked for a different room but after a long drive we only wanted to sleep there.
Convenient location. Comfortable room.
Underground car park is hideously tight and claustrophobic.
Proximity to venue and town and great views of Sound.
Everything was fantastic and we will be returning. Staff were very polite and made us very welcome. A gentleman actually spoke to us and asked how we were when walking to our room! Fantastic.
The breakfast finished at 9.30 which we felt was too early we thought it was 10.30 so we actually missed breakfast!!
Lack of iron in the room
the view from, and ambience, of the penthouse restaurant and bar.
The bed was a bit economical (relative to the headboard and sideboards). The lifts were a bit temperamental. (Neither particularly detracted from the stay - just observations)
Location. Breakfast in the penthouse with spectacular views Leisure facilities Lovely rooms
Pay for the car park Pay for the wifi but I had an IHG card and the reception were very helpful No jacuzzi Difficult car park
staff were fantastic. everything was as expected. We shall return
Nothing. bathroom was a bit tired. but nothing to complain about. shower was amazing.
The situation - close proximity to the theatre, the Hoe and city centre. Nice breakfast.
Decor is dated. Wifi wasn't working at one stage. Manoeuvring in the underground parking is awkward.
Location was great.
Very tired decor, not very clean, stains on bedding. Car park very very tight spaces.
we enjoyed every part of our stay.
parking was an issue no spaces outside the first two nights and only one space the other days. Indoor parking was too small.
Excellent location with superb views over the Sound, free parking. Good restaurant view and staff helpful.
Rooms are tired need updating, furniture outdated, when checking out not offered bill to check just told how much the extras were. No "how was your stay" or "have a good trip" Long delay when waiting to be seated in restaurant for dinner
Absolutely spotless. Great location (5 mins to centre). All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool and changing rooms lovely, clean and nice to be in. Beds comfortable and room very pleasant. Fantastic views of The Hoe (room at back of hotel). Great for parking as only £3 and can leave car there after check-out time.
Breakfast service ok but do not recommend evening. Disjointed restaurant staff and what felt like lack of communication between kitchen/waiting staff/head waiting. We'd booked several hours before the evening but there was not a table ready for us when we arrived and it seemed a bit of a pain when we asked for window table (there's many!). We were all given different menus which were then taken away as they weren't sure which deal we could have (3 courses with wine etc). The main course is then buffet style. It was ok but not great. The wine served with meal was not pleasant either. It's ok if you're not in the mood to venture out but I wouldn't eat there again. The carvery chef was very friendly and chatty which was a breath of fresh air there. Don't think any of this takes away from the hotel as breakfast was very nice and plentiful, and eating an evening meal there is not necessary as many restaurants close by. Wifi didn't work.
Close to Barbican and shops
Parking is tight for a 4x4 outside full no ice machine near vending machine for drinks
Proximity to The Hoe and city. Bar and restaurant on premises.
The restaurant had wonderful views but felt that the ambience left something to be desired. Waiter had a strange accent and odd way of speaking. Food was atrocious - can't believe my steak was 8oz, especially having recently returned from USA! Sauce was appalling, food way overpriced as all tasted like frozen or from packet. Basically, I felt we paid over £70 for some rather nice bread! Also, receptionist forgot to give us coin to leave car park and we were stuck and had to run back to reception, at which point she asked if we were staying there??
have stayed several times and always excellent
Great spacious room Excellent breakfast Friendly staff
Lifts were a nightmare - either full all the time or operated on a mind of their own! The queue for cooked breakfast was extremely long! Poor security - I had yo leave my teenage son with the room key, returned to the hotel and was issued with an extra room key at midnight without even being asked my name!
The hotel dining room had superb views and the staff were excellent at all times.
The bathroom needed the mould removing, sticky fingerprints on the doors, "Scary" lifts! We really didn't enjoy waiting an eternity for our breakfast with a constant stream of people's backsides in our faces who were queuing for said breakfast. Full hotel? Plan for it....
Proximity to Centre, Barbican and Hoe.
Bathroom very small Breakfast ok
Restaurant on top floor, great view when it was not raining ! Spacious room .
Car park was a bit tight and the charge .
Charge for WiFi access!!!!!! It is simply ridiculous, nowadays, to be asked to pay for WiFi access, equivalent to an additional 18% of the room cost. What does it cost the Hotel to provide this service?......practically zero!
Location Easy access Breafast Comfort of room Very polite & helpful staff Swimming pool & fitnesss suite
Ground floor bar, too many TVs, not enough group based seating areas. The bar area, PH floor. not as comfortable as it could be - a bit dated.
Position was good
Very difficult to find this hotel, and their parking. Bad smell through hotel, feel old and tired, still hair around bathroom from previous guests, poor breakfast.
