My wife & I found the staff from arriving to leaving to be 1st rate. Special mention to Susannah on the front desk & Alex in the B/Fast room.Nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely stay again & shall be recommending to friends.
Noticed the street noise on arriving in our room. However it did not trouble us enough to mention. TRAFFIC IN A CITY CENTRE TO BE EXPECTED
the staff were wonderful especially the young man who checked us in Andreas he was very friendly, helpful & welcoming. the barman & waiting staff in the restaurant were very friendly, helpful, attentative. the location was good, the rooms were great. we all loved edinburgh and will defintely be back
the food - breakfast was "fine" but please dont use powdered eggs for scrambles they were awful. i got poached eggs on the last morning and they were covered in black scum!! the dinner was awful as well with the result we ate out of the hotel on two nights. please do not recommend spoons again it was awful.the day the girl changed my towels she didnt run the hoover over the floor which it badly needed on day2
Reception were very helpful on both check in and check out
It had everything you'd expect from a Hilton. Comfort, quality both in hotel and at breakfast. Nice 4th floor room with Castle view.
Minor quibble. Bathroom small, shower only, and nowhere to put anything. but for two nights, no problem. The pluses vastly outweighed the small negative.
All staff were very helpful, friendly, room was lovely clean would stay again. Breakfast was very good too.
More free cookies
I never liked the fact i paid over £150 for a room that had a hole in the bathroom wall and the room did not have everything it said it would on the web site such as a hairdrier so my girlfriend had to leave the next day with soaking wet hair on a cold day as she never brought hers for the simple fact it said on the website that the room would have one
Free cookies and complementary drinks on arrival as room not quite ready. Loved the breakfast - top marks! Superb bathroom and view of castle from top floor! Would sure recommend and return again!
Duvet was a bit thin that's all!
Staff were very friendly and professional
It was very cold in the bar.
good size rooms, good breakfast friendly staff
The staff were fabulous! Unfaultable on any level! The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were fabulous. Lovely selection of breakfast. Good location. They made the bed each day, and kindly gave me new towels even though I said Id reuse them!
The rooms were not cleaned, the bathroom floor remained the same each day. I washed my own glass each day on return to my room..on the last day it disappeared....I did tell the reception that I didnt seal it! They laughed and said it was fine!! :)The carpets didnt look like a 4 star.Looking a little tatty...You can hear everything through the walls! Bit disturbing!
Staff very friendly and supportive
Asked for a quiet room but ended up with a room that was located near a lift and this was noisy
Location,Breakfast was great.
Was there Fri-Sun and Room never got cleaned. Had to go looking for clean towels and toiletries. Was wife's birthday and this took the shine off our trip to Edinburgh. Expected a lot better service for the cost. When we said to reception they offered us a drink and a later check-out(1 hour?).
Nice rooms Clean Nice staff Free newspapers
Far too noisy Honestly kept awake the whole of Friday night & even woken again on the Saturday, this ruined all our plans as we had to sleep during Saturday afternoon as we were that tired. Worst hotel I have stayed in in Edinburgh
All the staff were very friendly . Alain Martzolff was particularly helpful he sorted an evening for us booked a ghost tour ,meal and taxi had a great night and finished up in the cocktail bar attached to the hotel can thoroughly recommend it !!!
Very spacious room and king size bed
Room wasn't available until 4.30pm even though we were supposed to be able to check in from 2pm
Didn't clean our room for 2 days running. Asked reception on 2nd day and waited 40 minutes (we did get a free drinks voucher) but still wasn't done then had to wait another 45 minutes tone cleaned. Also when we arrived our booking hadn't went through correctly which caused embarrassment at check in. And to top it off my unopened birthday cards went missing from our room.
Nice clean hotel, good breakfast and clean tidy room.
Room 105 is the first floor right on the corner of the hotel and at a junction, whilst the traffic noise didn't bother us (we do live in London) it was annoying we couldn't open curtains as traffic can see straight in
The staff were exceptional, in nothing was too much bother and that inlcudes cleaning staff and all the other people that make a hotel what it is. (all the people that don' get a mention for normal) and I would recommend it to anyone, and the warm cookies were amazing. (Go just for that, and that is from someone that doesn't eat sweets or cakes anytime)
the breakfast was not the best ever as the omelete was not mixed properly i.e the eggs were not mixed enough so you had white and yellow which is not nice in sight and funnily not as nice tasted) but that could be lack of seasoning? also the mushrooms were not even cooked and the bacon was very dry. But saying that, the manager could not be friendly enough. I did not see him miss anybody with a welcome smile.
Overall its an excellent hotel in a great location. Try the cocktails!
Would have benefited from a swimming pool
Nice breakfast and freindly helpful staff. Good room clean and comfy
No shower curtain water goes everywhere
The staff was really, really helpful, polite and professional. Top notch. Great suggestions for what to do and see, where to eat. Very attentive to making our stay an enjoyable one.
Polite and friendly staff, good location and spacious room
dreadful breakfast china....breakfast not freshly cooked and not very exciting!
with a little preparation, the staff decorated our room for my husbands birthday. nothing was too much trouble. comfy beds, lovely view, great food. had a lovely time. would definitely stay again
a cookie every day would be better!
The bed and pillows were the comfiest I have ever lay on.
Our room was right above a club and could hear music quite clearly in the early hours.
