The big bed was the most luxurious we have ever slept in (room number 2). The owner Barry was very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff.

Quality & choice of food. The noisy but friendly ambience of a busy pub/restaurant. Ample car parking & potentially the grounds. The fact we were over-charged by some 25% on our evening meal/drinks, although our complaint the following morning was dealt with courteously & efficiently. Lack of control of bedroom heating. Lack of reasdily available hot water to shower. Creaking floorboards to bedroom.

Very attentive service, excellent food, including breakfast. Good price & comfortable bed. Slightly odd arrival, checking in at the bar. Room had two temperature positions, hot or cold, because the only adjustment was the radiators...themostats would help here.

Children welcome but experience not totally geared towards children. Travel cot and highchair provision excellent. Good menu choices and lovely food. Loved the outside space, excellent play area. Lovely village location and good parking availability. Room was too hot even with the window open, could not control heat.

loved the old buiding and the public house. the location was convienient for wirral and north wales the shower was too small and had no power, the internet was off most of the time, the readiator in the roon couldnt be switched on. There was no shelf in the bathroom to put your things and there was inadequate storage space for clothes it would be ok if only staying for one or two nights

Comfortable Room No-one available who knew how to check visitors out when I wished to leave. My booking confirmation said therewas a view of the garden from my bedroom window and infact the view was of the roof.

Spacious room, enormous comfortable bed. Good size shower room. Comfort. Fresh flowers in room and on restaurant tables. Evening meals were very good. Popular venue with locals and the garden is spacious with a play area for children. Staff helpful. Little oversights, no bin in the bedroom, no hairdryer. (They did provide one when asked) Hot water was very slow, we reported this and they said they would get the plumber in to fix it - I trust they have. No offer of toast after our scrambled eggs.

We visit the area regularly and require local hotels, this place is known to us a good pub/restaurant, it is under taking a renovation in the bedrooms but does not compromise the hotel at all, we will stay there again when the rooms are complte which is fairly soon

Bath was nice and plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable and room nicely decorated. Quiet once the pub had shut and staff gone home. Really nice breakfast. Brand new hairdryer in room which was great as I forgot mine! Shower was useless in the room. No pressure and ran out of cold water. Floorboards very creaky. Room was freezing cold on arrival and was rather dark due to the energy saving lightbulbs. Very noisy when pub closed, lots of doors slamming.

Good food. Polite and attentive staff. Good selection of Ales. Comfortable room. Thought room was a bit pricey for the facilities offered. Cleaning rooms needs to be daily, two night stop and room was not cleaned on second day. Remnants of previous occupants soap left in bathroom on arrival. Room was exceedingly cold on arrival and did not give view of gardens as described only an adjacent roof.

Friendly staff. Pretty good food in the restaurant. Good beer. Careful attention paid to special request made with our booking. Creaking intumescent strips in the bedroom door kept us awake until we jammed the door with a tissue.

The location of the Inn was fantastic and the village was lovely. The decor throughout was also very nice and the breakfast was great (unfortunately due to having dental surgery the week prior I couldn't eat much). When we arrived at the Pollards Inn we were informed that we had to pay before we checked in and we found this rather odd as we have never been asked to do this before at other establishments. We asked if there would be any tables available in the restaurant for tea and we were told rather unceremoniously that they were full but we could 'sit by the bar' if we wanted (they didn't ask what time we might like to eat etc). The worst part of the trip was that the room we were given absolutely STANK of cigarettes. Considering neither myself or my partner smoke and that I was still healing prior to surgery I was un-happy that we had been given such a room - especially after having been asked to pay for our room before we had even seen it.
