Score from 63 reviews Excellent
Excellent staff. Very helpful and friendly. Great evening food, real ale, and breakfast. Room good size. Tea & Coffee in room etc. Location was good, with no parking problems, and felt safe to leave the van.
Noisy floorboards - to be expected for such an old place I guess. Walls also quite thin, so noise travels to a small extent. Lock on the door needed jiggling to get working. Will need replacement/fixing! I was only there for 1 night, so no issue for me.
The access to the room was through a working area and there was damp in th bathroom.
I liked the staff. The rooms were very dated and basic. Tv costs nothing these days. Real noisy. Floor boards were so noisy too. No hairdryer. Bed was lumpy. I've stayed in a lot nicer hotels for 85! Should have been half that! X
Good food, friendly staff,
A mild cock up with the booking mid stay, was quickly fixed.
Staff were friendly and our room was lovely.
Couldn't enjoy meals kids running around all over restaurant area. My friends room was terrible dirty and used facecloth in sink and very cold. Brought to the attention of staff and nothing done about it.
The accommodation was good, breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Not a big chain and nice to be treated like an individual. We are looking forward to going again.
Loved the old beams throughout the ceilings & the cosiness of the room. Food was excellent & the portions were massive (couldn't finish them!). Grounds are well kept as well!
Needed a coat of paint in room to refresh walls. Tv in room was far too small!!!! Heating is on a set timer so room was cold when we first arrived but soon warmed up & kept heat when heating eventually did come on!
Friendly attentive staff
A nice pub with comfortable room. Good value
I was abandoned at breakfast. Others had their order taken. I was ignored. Apparently they thought others might join me for breakfast. This despite being asked and saying that i was alone. I dont think i would return. Pity as it was a nice place
Arrived at pollards via satnav to the rear, greeted by staff and made welcome straight away..very informative and helpful..went to our room in the original building(which was being decorated-which didnt bother us one bit!) and was more than happy with it. Nice big comfy bed,tv,shower sorted for the party we were attending downstairs to the bar which was quite busy, again made to feel welcome by staff and asked if we needed a taxi, a nice gesture and saved me messing about on my phone..although free wifi I didnt take advantage as didnt see the code on the board til the morning.. Breakfast was good im a baked bean man on me brekkie must admit and the tommys were dumped off me plate sorry...everything else was great...lovely lady on in morn very helpful again...thoroughly enjoyed our nite/morn at Pollards and have taken your card to suggest to friends/fam if ever they go your way...Thanx all...x
Satnav took me to the rear, missed the car park first time...no biggie tho as staff sorted me out.. As I said thoroughly enjoyed our stay...would prefer beans on me brekkie rather than tommys but thats just my opinion...
When I booked this hotel on your website, i was expecting a nice little get away for my wife and me, when we arrived at the hotel, we were surprised how long it took to be seen to and when shown to our room, we were brought trough a area we they were painting and was told to mind were we put our hands because of the fresh paint on the banisters, the room was ok, but still could smell the paint, was really got my back up was, my wife got paint on her dress, and only realised this the next morning, breakfast and service was poor and won't be staying hear again
Staff went above and beyond. Delicious food and great real ales
Nothing will return!
Nice little village pub
Staff willing but unable.
NEEDS GOOD CLEAN REPAINTING. WATER FILLING INTO TANK ABOVE BED, ( ROOM 1 ). CARPETS RIPPED. WINDOW WOULD NOT LOCK/SHUT SECURE. EXTRACTOR IN BATHROOM NOT WORKING. BULB OUT IN BATHROOM. COBWEBS.
Village pub with good food and beer. Helpful staff. Superb individualized English breakfast. Great location between Chester and Liverpool.
Dinner food service a little slow as the place was packed with people.
There was a gigant spider in my bedroom! In the mornings, the chef took ages to take my order and also to cook the breakfast! Don't get the breakfast included, not worth the wait!
Clean Value for money will say again
The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Good place to stay if you are visiting the area.
Friendly staff Lovely place
Breakfast felt rushed & dis organised
The heater didn't work in May and although the staff I ask to fix it worked on it while we were out when we got back although it was turned on it was still quite cold. At 2200 I didn't want to further rectify it. Additionally there were little convenience about the room: no bed side plugs, shower had one setting, room didn't have blacked out curtains so it was the perfect alarm at 0530 if you want to go for a run but not ideal for my mom who's 65.
Food was great and the breakfast was excellent
The bar wasn't well stocked and limited. I had made a couple of requests which didn't come to fruition
The food was very good a little over priced .Breakfast was very good.
Expected more off an older villlage with nice village green after reading comments on your web site.
The biggest asset - the staff. Right across the board went out of their way to be helpful and attentive without going over the top. The food & service was of very good quality and the range of 'Real Ale' very commendable. Would certainly recommend to others.
It would be difficult to find fault.
