Staff went above and beyond. Delicious food and great real ales
Nothing will return!
Nice little village pub
Staff willing but unable.
NEEDS GOOD CLEAN REPAINTING. WATER FILLING INTO TANK ABOVE BED, ( ROOM 1 ). CARPETS RIPPED. WINDOW WOULD NOT LOCK/SHUT SECURE. EXTRACTOR IN BATHROOM NOT WORKING. BULB OUT IN BATHROOM. COBWEBS.
Village pub with good food and beer. Helpful staff. Superb individualized English breakfast. Great location between Chester and Liverpool.
Dinner food service a little slow as the place was packed with people.
There was a gigant spider in my bedroom! In the mornings, the chef took ages to take my order and also to cook the breakfast! Don't get the breakfast included, not worth the wait!
Clean Value for money will say again
The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Good place to stay if you are visiting the area.
Friendly staff Lovely place
Breakfast felt rushed & dis organised
The heater didn't work in May and although the staff I ask to fix it worked on it while we were out when we got back although it was turned on it was still quite cold. At 2200 I didn't want to further rectify it. Additionally there were little convenience about the room: no bed side plugs, shower had one setting, room didn't have blacked out curtains so it was the perfect alarm at 0530 if you want to go for a run but not ideal for my mom who's 65.
Food was great and the breakfast was excellent
The bar wasn't well stocked and limited. I had made a couple of requests which didn't come to fruition
The food was very good a little over priced .Breakfast was very good.
Expected more off an older villlage with nice village green after reading comments on your web site.
The biggest asset - the staff. Right across the board went out of their way to be helpful and attentive without going over the top. The food & service was of very good quality and the range of 'Real Ale' very commendable. Would certainly recommend to others.
It would be difficult to find fault.
Function room well laid out and good service.
Sower slow to start!
Good sized room & bed. Breakfast really good Bar staff friendly
Old bar of soap on shower soap tray. Only 1 bath towel in double room. Throw on bed had dirty marks. Restaurant chairs very dusty & cobweb on flower jug on table.
location ideal for Cheshire /Merseyside and north wales. staff friendly/ good selection of ales the bar.Food good value.
Breakfast service a bit slow, one male waiter who was not best organised.
I booked it on behalf of a friend, so did not have personal experience, but he said he was quite happy with the service and overall atmosphere.
Lovely old inn with friendly staff, excellent local country walks, and very old village. The food was simply fantastic, with good local beer and en excellent breakfast in the morning. Recommended!
The bed. Friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere.
Insufficient lighting in bedroom. Long delay (thirty minutes) at breakfast time. We had ordered a cooked breakfast for 09.00. We arrived at the table at 08.55 and finally received our meal at 09.30
Room very dark Corridor and staircase needed smattering up
plenty of choice on the dinner menu and food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner.
bedrooms were over the bar area and it was noisey at times.
Location & building.
The room was cool
The walk through to the room, and also that no one was around when we went downstairs for breakfast, we had to wait and ask.
nice countryside location, easy day trips into liverpool from here. Perfect location for the wedding we were attending at Inglewood manor.
No air con but its not a modern hotel so understandable. We were there when it was a really hot weekend. Had to sleep with windows wide open so can hear noise from outside but luckily the bar doesn't stay open late.
Locality, old pub
