Score from 3 reviews Exceptional
Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable. Our room was spacious and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. It is located in a charming village, very quite but with easy access to a many tourist attractions.
There is nothing to dislike.
Owners were incredibly friendly, breakfast very nice, room very clean and the bed was nice and comfy. Everything you'd want from a B&B and good value as well.
Lovely room (king suite), breakfast good, great location for touring the area, either walking or by car, friendly owners.
Biscuits with the tea and coffee in our room would have made it perfect!
Had a warm, friendly welcome. Room was spotless and comfortable. Hosts are lovely people and very helpful. It was a positive experience for me.
The location was a bit remote for what I needed, but a lovely quiet spot otherwise. Couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work - but maybe it was just me :-(.
Location with peace and quiet in expansive grounds. Attentive host with local information and help. A good night`s rest in comfortable room. Excellent choice of footpaths all well marked.
Just beware of leaving the grounds on foot and stepping into the road. No footways so no leeway for careless walkers.
Easy access to Constable country which is truly beautiful. Clean and bright accomodation, helpful hosts and a hearty breakfast, what more could one ask?
Nothing we didn't like. The hosts Maureen and Dave, were friendly and helpful. The Lodge was comfortable, a super cooked breakfast. Cleanliness was to a 5 star standard. The lodge was also well positioned for walkers like ourselves to explore the Essex/Suffolk border with lots of interesting history. Also a variety of birdlife along the path from Dedham to Manningtree.
Extremely comfortable and well-appointed room with lovely ensuite. Peaceful locatîon. Excellent hosts who also provided late night taxi service from the wedding we were attending. Excellent (yes, that word again. Can't think of a better one) breakfast. All together a great experience. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Comfortable and quiet. Very helpful and let us check in early to change for a wedding. Lovely breakfast.
En suite shower room very small and location quite remote down lots of narrow country lanes.
Very friendly. Made me an early breakfast so I could get to my golf on time
As I was alone I felt very comfortable a beautiful house in a lovely setting and the host was very friendly. A great place tostay
Friendly owners, very clean and comfortable, good breakfast
Lovely location and very friendly owners with great local knowledge. I will be back.
friendly welcome, very quiet, outstanding breakfast
I could not fault Polstead Lodge, and will certainly return.
Lovely quiet location and we loved the spacious room and helpful hospitality. Best breakfast in a B&B that we have had.
Nothing to dislike!
This lovely B+B exceeded my expectations. Very friendly owners who made us feel most welcome and comfortable. Location is excellent for exploring the surrounding beautiful countryside. The room is spacious, very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Cooked English breakfast (included in the room rate) was excellent. I would certainly recommend Polstead Lodge to friends and colleagues.
The homely welcome, size of room, location
Nothing to comment
Beautiful location, lovely surroundings and immaculately clean and comfortable room.
Nothing to comment on - everything exceeded our expectations!
Very friendly couple. The room I was given very comfortable. Very good location to my places of work.
Absolutely everything. The room, the full English breakfast, the welcome were all excellent. Further to my previous review, I was wrong, there is a power point available for phone chargers etc. I just hadn't found it.
Very friendly & welcoming
Shower head on bath not very efficient
Maureen, the owner, knew a lot about the local area and she was able to tell us about interesting places to visit. She was also really helpful. It was also interesting at breakfast time to meet other guests who were staying.
The double room was lovely with a very comfortable king size double in a nice big room. The service was excellent and very friendly and the full English breakfast was excellent.
The only criticism I would make was the lack of a convenient power point to plug in a phone charger.
The area was fantastic and there are some great walks. The Lodge was lovely as were the staff and the breakfast was really good.
