room was comfy but a bit small
Simple, modern, clean and unfussy, suited me perfectly.
The internet provider was having intermittent problems and one of the ladies at reception to let me use her personal smartphone as a modem to continue working,
Hotels in a covenant locations and for a service station hotel it had good facilities, including tea making facilities and biscuits in room, and staff where nice.
Room was extremely hot, a fan was provided but was very loud and the beds where so hard nether me or my traveling companion sleep for more than four hours and where both sore the next day.
Staff were good
How can the hotel allocate this room to paying guests when they know the boiler causes noise and vibrations in this room making it impossible to sleep in it.
The Staff and accommodation were excellent we are going to stay here again many thanks
Good value; friendly, helpful staff; clean and tidy room; free parking; computer access; good base for Welsh Museums, e.g. Big Pit, Caerleon, St Fagans etc.
The Room was excellent, the beds were very comfortable, the bath was clean and spacious. The man in the front desk was very nice and helpful. The Hotel located in Area of gas station and Macdonald + KFC - so it very comfortable.
Most of it great few days thankyou.
Sorry beds far to soft for us, bad backs after one night, I think its an age thing.
Well trained staff; better stay than when it was a Travel Lodge; good simple well priced evening meal; more comfortable foyer. Good price, upgraded to family room. Great for the valleys- Blaenavon and Pontypool- or for the countryside round Usk, Abergavenny and the Beacons
Room at the back picks up too much traffic noise; open the window for some fresh air and, naturally, noise gets worse
New and clean
Avoid room 227 as noisy room - near the main road and also doors kept slamming during the night.
Couldn't fault it at all : )
Great staff, fab and friendly. Room was clean and comfy with everything you need.
Breakfast looked and smelled ok but my hangover wasn't letting me be tempted, some crispy bacon might have changed that.
It suited our position well for a post wedding stay. Staff were very obliging and courteous .
I have never had breakfast in a lobby before! It was too small to serve the size of the hotel.
I had a very serious car crash on the way to the hotel, when I got there the staff were amazing! So helpful they fulfilled every need I had. As my belongings were left in the car the cleaners were fantastic and provided us with extra items that we needed thankyou staff and cleaners you really helped me in my time of need. Cant thankyou enough. Comfortable bed loved my stay.
There wasnt anything I didnt like
From day one they made us welcome, and having a jar of mints on the reception desk, Brilliant
Breakfast was excellent, but bacon was very thin.
location ....facilities with petrol eating out all good
Full English breakfast would be a great asset.
Clean hotel within good travel distance to where we were visiting, food was good
The noise of traffic was hard for me to sleep
I liked the hotel very good standard looked like somewhere that would have cost more than the £40 I payed.
Although the staff wasn't rude they wasn't very helpful and was left waiting twice at reception for a while and nobody was there.
The free Wi-Fi was brilliant. Tea and coffee making facilities were good...but only one packet of biscuits?....other wise good...Bathroom was good no complaints there at all and I've been a few places. Overall, was a great stay...will be back.
One packet of biscuits with my tea...bit stingy given I paid £55 a night!!!!...one packet of biccies probably less than 10p a packet given metro buys them by the 100s if not 1000s....but....that was it....I didn't eat the breakfast as £8 for a continental was a bit steep...I got a full breaky with continental over the road for much less
We thought this hotel might be basic as we had such a good deal, it only cost us £54.00 for our two night stay, all our fears vanished when we arrived to find a lovely modern and well equipped hotel. The staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for you ,and we found this to be the case throughout our stay. The breakfast was not only continental but also includes cooked food (scrambled egg, bacon, beans etc.) and you also have the facility to boil your own eggs just how you like them so it was worth the extra. The hotel also serves locally cooked food Monday to Thursday so you don't need to go in search of dinner. Excellent location comfortable beds great shower and very clean everywhere.
The Wi-Fi was not great as it kept dropping in and out but it was no big deal as we were only checking emails etc.
quiet at night good breakfast (incl. hot food) good location
The ease of finding the hotel; the friendliness of the staff and good breakfast
The slight nuisance of the road traffic noise as my room overlooked the front, had to shut the windows on a stuffy hot night and leave the electric fan on.
