The hotel is nestled in the heart of the Trossachs, the only National Park in Scotland, in a peaceful area, away from the hustle and bustle and yet only an hour’s drive from Glasgow centre and the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. Spend long days walking in the countryside, touring the surrounding castles or fishing for sea trout and salmon in the challenging nearby rivers, before enjoying a welcome break and sampling the whiskey at the Glenturret Distillery. Its 9 well-appointed, en-suite rooms offer comfort and differing styles of decor, yet maintain a unique warmth and charm. Rooms are available in superior, family, twin and Doubles, with several available for single occupancy. One of the rooms is on the ground floor.

Area information

The Trossachs is a land of shimmering lochs and craggy peaks, where the Highlands meet the Lowlands. Along with its rather worthy neighbour Loch Lomond, The Trossachs have recently been elevated to National Park status, making Callander a travel and hospitality ‘hot spot’ for discerning travellers. Callander itself is home to the vibrant Jazz and Blues Festival and the World Highland Games.

Loch Katrine (9 km/ 5.5 miles) - one can sail on the S.S.Sir Walter Scott Steamship amidst the peaceful hills and Bens. The subject of Sir Walter Scott’s highly acclaimed novel, Lady of the Lake.

Visit Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument (18 km/ 11.1 miles) for historic importance.

The Blair Drummond Safari Park (10 km/ 6.2 miles) - one of the country's largest parks of its kind with numerous facilities for all the family.

Loch Lomond can be reached in approximately 40 minutes (30 km/ 18.6 miles), where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery along the "bonnie banks".

Travel information

By Plane:
From Glasgow Airport (54 km/ 34 miles):
- Take the M8 and exit at junction 25.
- Continue through the Clyde Tunnel, and then follow the A81, signposted Aberfoyle, through Bearsden Milngavie (pronounced Milguy).
- Just before you reach Aberfoyle, turn right to Callander.

From Edinburgh Airport (45 km/ 28 miles):
- Take the A8 to the Newbridge Interchange.
- Continue onto the M9 until you reach junction 10, just after Stirling.
- Exit at junction 10 onto the A84, and continue to Callander.

A taxi from either airport costs approximately 50 GBP.

By Car:
From Perth:
- Take the A93 to junction A9/ A93/ M90.
- Continue onto the A9 to junction A9/ A820 to Doune
- Turn right on to A84 signposted Callander

From Stirling:
- Head for the M9 and exit at junction 10 onto the A84 to Callander.
