The Palace Hotel Buxton & Spa, hotel in Buxton

Situated at the centre of Buxton, The Palace Hotel Buxton & Spa offers a swimming pool and beauty salon. This grand Victorian hotel is about 300 metres from the Buxton Train Station.

It’s a beautiful Victorian building, with all the elaborate decor. Nice friendly staff. Modern room Amazing breakfast with a vast choice. However Chef wouldn’t make me any scrambled eggs, I’m not a fan of fried. All very fresh, lovely staff. Hotel was warm. In a beautiful location. It was a good price. Too many freebie’s in the room, must cost a fortune.

We met up with friends and had some things planned and other things decided on the first night. There was lots to do in Buxton and in the area around Buxton. I felt we could have stayed for a week and found things to do each day and night. I was very impressed with the attractions that were open for us to go to and there was a lot of choice to eat in different Restaurants. There was a lack of Taxis, we tried phoning and got no where so had to walk back to the Hotel.

The most interesting small city and worth a visit, relies on good weather and make use of the spa. Check the tourist places and consider the beautiful theatre and pavilion. I recommend the Old Court house Brasserie for dinner.

This was our 3rd trip to the lovely town of Buxton and we really enjoyed it again ( despite bad weather ! ). There are many amenities and a nice town centre with beautiful gardens and architecture. As Real Ale lovers, we found lots to keep us happy too !

I saw most of Buxton but with a car there is so much more to see and do in the area. Had a night at the opera; visited Chatsworth and Hardwick (which has amazing tapestries and history but is further away and would not recommend if only staying for a few days); Eyam and its museum; a guided walk around Buxton; Participated in Park Run 15 mins walk from Grendon B&B; Less busy and crowded than Bakewell although definitely would recommend a visit there; Gardens lovely to wander around; Countryside amazing and beautiful to walk in.

A lovely place to stay, full of interesting buildings and great Pubs/Restaurants. The open air market was very disappointing but everything else was excellent. The views as you get nearer to the town are breathtaking, we will definitely visit again

The house is beautifully furnished with a lot of thought, with modern and clean kitchen and bathroom fitting together with a more classic living room and bedrooms. TV in every bedroom and the living room, free Netflix and BBC iPlayer too so we did not need our own accounts. The beds are comfortable with crisp hotel bedsheets. We drove there so the more remote location is not a problem at all, it is in fact perfect for going out of Buxton to explore other parts of Peak District. Really felt like having a home away from home.

We had read mixed reviews of this hotel but decided to stay anyway . We were pleasantly surprised . The location was fantastic , close to all amenities and some amazing local restaurants ( Thai is lovely ) , Staff were outstanding, especially at breakfast. Beautiful room overlooking park with large bath, plenty of hot water and lovely hot shower . If you want a soul less chain of hotels , don't stay here . Lovely , quirky old building . Would definitely stay here and visit Buxton again

A fantastic place to stay, big comfy room and snuggly bed, robes were provided for the spa. The bathroom had lovely shampoo, shower gel and even conditioner (which is rare in hotels). The facilities included in the price are amazing, and there are so many extras you can pay for its difficult to choose. Its right in the centre of Buxton and very easy to find. The breakfast was amazing and had so much choice, and it was all great quality.

The hotel looks neat and very nice. The staff very polite and so helpful. The rooms are comfy and convient (except for one point I'll detail later). I didn't realise we would have a shared bathroom (but that's my mistake, it was clear from the website I just didn't pay attention), but it was not a bad experience, the bathroom was kept so clean. Location is convenient just minutes away from Buxton centre and easy access from the road.

Right in the centre looking over the park. The room was lovely ,it was very spacious and clean. I hadn't realised that breakfast wasn't included but that was my fault. We have stayed in many hotels in buxton for around the same price which did include breakfast so that's why I gave 4stars But again this is nothing against the tea room!

This was a great stay for our week in the Peak District. Staying in Buxton meant everything was just about 30 mins away. Having an apartment rather than a hotel stay was also much preferred. This was a great experience, thanks for providing such high quality!
