I've stayed at Portland Lodge a number of times over the last 5 Years as easy proximity to Sailing Academy on the Harbour. Very accommodating staff and finding wheelchair friendly room is not easy but Portland Lodge achieves!

Breakfast ok Extremely sparse, more like a hostel than a hotel. Cheapest of furniture, bedding, bathroom fittings, etc and cold. Walls paper thin, so woken at midnight to 2am by people coming in, talking and playing the tv. Not worth £60 per night, so never again.

Generous with room. We had a double bed and a single bed which my wife used because of snoring. It was quite and private which we liked. Nobody really bothered you. Just the TV really. Had two remotes but couldn't get anything on it. Should have asked but was tired. Also couldn't seem to cool the room as the duvet was too hot but there weren't any alternatives. Probably the wind direction was wrong.

Good reception and booking in, keys given for front door and room so easy access. Size of room OK and not on traffic side of hotel so quiet, Musty smell in shower room from lack of recent cleaning/use. 12" tv fixed 8ft up the wall giving a cricked neck when watching it from the one chair supplied. Greasy breakfast, I thought greasy spoon cooking was finished but not on Portland. A budget experience does not need to be a low level experience, £52 bed and breakfast could be and I have had lots better.

The lodge is basically a working man's bed and breakfast. The waitress at breakfast was like something from Fawlty Towers. I can't believe how much we had to pay for such poor quality. This hotel does not represent good value for money.

Easy to find, the man at check-in was very helpful with local knowledge, the bedroom was clean & comfortable, free car parking No air conditioning / fan in the room, it was a very warm weekend. TV set too high up the wall on the bracket. Breakfast was nt good, although the poached eggs & bacon on toast was nice, the cheap ketchup was thin & tasteless so spoilt it. And the apples looked like they'd been there for too long.

We went to Weymouth for a wedding. It was fairly near to the reception venue. Very basic, but clean. Quite expensive for the accommodation on offer.

In a very nice location, although the view from the window was not great. It was clean and tidy rather than anything special. The price was good and the breakfast was excellent.

We have stayed here often, as a couple, and with children and we have always found the staff are very friendly and we get value for money. That's why we keep coming back.
