We went to Weymouth for a wedding. It was fairly near to the reception venue. Very basic, but clean. Quite expensive for the accommodation on offer.

In a very nice location, although the view from the window was not great. It was clean and tidy rather than anything special. The price was good and the breakfast was excellent.

I was very disappointed with the lodge as it was very basic for what they charge. No toiletries except soap in bathroom no tissues no food availablet which should be made clear, and worse of all there was hair in one of the single beds, which I did not discover until I came back from my family occasion at 11 30 at night and I promply packed up mine and my daughters things and left no one was in reception although the man that booked us in did say he would be in room 7 if we needed anything it didnt feel right to knock . My sister in law stayed in room 2 so after I showed her what our room was like I left the keys with her and left.

It was ideally situated for me to visit a works at nearby Tradecroft Trading Estate. I was travelling by bus, so did not want to have far to walk. Portland Lodge provided all the facilities and convenience I required. The bacon served at breakfast. I think it may have been a 're-constituted' variety.

Breakfast included and the fact that the cook did what one wanted. Really rare and a good thing The bathroom (I stayed in room 1) smelt humidity which is not nice. Needs a better extraction system

The receptionist was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. With a good local knowledge of the facilities available in the local area and recommendations. The room was comfortable and clean, with all the facilities specified. The breakfast provided was excellent and checking out could not have been easier. Non readily come to mind

Room comfortable, friendly service, nice breakfast. Room was a bit damp....I Believe this was due to the extractor in the bathroom not working. This did not spoil my stay, but it is the only negative point I can think of.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We could eat out locally in the evening without having to take the car. In the summer would be ideally placed for the beach and for trips into Weymouth and the surrounding County of Dorset. The new Sailing Academy and activities associated with the 2012 Olympics is changing the nature of the Island which was once a Naval Base. Hopefully this will be for the good. There was free Wifi which was a great PLUS. But, Portland is wild, not visually attractive in a traditional sense. It has an interesting history and if one is interested in fossils, quarries, shipwrecks and ghosts then they would enjoy it. We were in the room for a disabled person(s) and outside the door was a machine for water, cokes etc. To keep its contents cold, it ran a motor at regular intervals all day/night. A light sleeper or someone who found sleep difficult (a strong possibility if one has a disability) would find this very disturbing. I did comment to this effect on the hotel questionnaire.

Ausgesprochen hilfsbereites Personal. Das Zimmer war kalt und feucht. Außerdem ist das Hotel schon sehr abgewohnt und nicht mehr heutigen Standards entsprechend.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, hot water and room made up every day without asking. Location is amazing if you want to explore Weymouth and Portland and ample parking spaces. Room was quite cold and there was no central heating - got a floor heater from reception on the 2nd day when we complained about it which was quite effective for the room. But that did not solve the issue with the cold bathroom, especially during evenings and night time. With this experience, paying £90 per night didn't feel totally worth it.

affordable prices and yet cleanliness was the best thing I enjoyed during the stay. No pets and no smokers policy makes this hotel stand out in hygiene. Food was good, and the family enjoyed the stay as the rooms had all the basic facility. Location could be better but that cant be helped..

On-site car park, Good wi-fi. Dreadful dark and dingy room. Twin and single bed, bare minimum of furniture, but spare fold up bed stuck in corner. En-suite was designed for disabled and was large with sink / toilet / shower squashed down one end; an air freshner squirting a sickly smelling spray into the room gave it the ambience of a hospital. Overpriced and unpleasant.
