Great location, great pub.

Room too small.

The only thing I like about the Portobello Gold was the location in Notting Hill and the walking distance to the tube station and bus stops.

The descriptions of the hotel on the websites I searched prior to booking were very misleading. The bathroom was ridiculously small, with the tiniest sink being placed inside the shower. The sink had two seperate hot/cold faucets, which made it difficult for washing hands/face to get a comfortable temperature. When the toilet flushed and the water ran in the room it made a random, horrible rumbling noise. That rumbling noise woke up my husband every morning while I was getting ready. With the antique market being right outside the hotel doorsteps we couln't even use the hotel exit. We had to go throught the restaurant/bar to exit. Also, the restaurant used the only staircase out of the hotel to house the food that was delivered so it was difficult to get down the stairs. Very unsafe in case of fire or if I had been carrying my luggage down. I would never stay there again!

Close to everything, friendly staff and a unique village atmosphere.

The room was too small for two travellers although we did make the best of it.

We enjoyed the lively 'buzz' of the location. The staff were friendly but not over the top and the pub food is good. Breakfast was basic but relaxed. Comfortable, free and easy.

The location.

The room is a bit smelly, toilet is incredibly small. Too expensive for what it offers, compared to other cities (even considering that London is one of te most expensives cities in Europe).

The only thing good about this hotel is that it was near to the place we had to be the next day.

The rooms were very small,the bed touched the walls on 3 sides so I had to clime over my husband to get out,also it was quite high and I Had to stand on a chair to get back in. The wash hand basin is in the shower.My granddaughter's room you had to walk into the shower to use the toilet.It was like a 3rd world dump,chipped tiles and paint and the breakfast room looked like it needed a good clean and a fresh coat of paint. Anyone who was slightly impaired would not be able to stay in this Hotel/Public house due to the very steep two flights of stairs.Also people were out side until 3am sitting at the tables talking and very noisy.

Interesting location, close to subway, and hop on hop off bus stop.

More suitable for younger generation.

This hotel really made my stay in London comfortable and very enjoyable. There are great meals and a lovely pub vibe. It was easy to use public transport from this location and the market just at the front door was so much fun.

The staff was terrific--really fun and friendly. The location was excellent- right in the heart of Notting Hill and the Portabello Market. The atmosphere was quirky and fun. The bathroom made us laugh--the shower and toilet are all together in one space; as Americans we had not seen that before and it was the source of several jokes! We had a great time! The price was just right too!

The room was incredibly small, but we knew that when we made the reservation, so it didn't really bother us--we weren't there very long.

La situation géographique, bien placé et quartier très sympa.

Chambre même pas "minuscule" : un réduit !!! Pas de place pour même juster circuler dans la pièce ! Ce qui est noté comme une salle de bain est en fait un "placard" dans lequel on a mis les toilettes, avec à côté un minuscule bac de douche et à l'intérieur de ce bac un "lave mains" qui fait office de lavabo. Pas d'étagères pour poser les affaires de toilettes ..... Tout çà pour 95 £ la nuit !! C'est vraiment innaceptable ! A déconseiller complètement.

Ett lite ruffigt hotell med vandrarhemskänsla. Incheckningen gjordes I baren bredvid ingången till hotellet. Hade då inte alls några förväntningar, men blev positivt överraskad. Rummen var rena, sängarna sköna (om man gillar hårda sängar) och läget perfekt. Frukosten var, som vanligt I london, torftig, men kaffet var gott. Till t-banan har man tagit sig till fots på mindre än tio minuter. Det här är inget hotell vi rekommenderar till till par som åker på en romantisk weekend, men för polarna som vill bo nära allt och inte vill betala mer än nödvändigt är det här absolut ett hotell att rekommendera. Vi kommer definitivt att bo här igen.

Läckande handfat I badrummet och att badrummet var så otroligt litet. Man stod I princip I handfatet när man duschade.

Personnel accueillant ambiance pub le week-end avec musique live le dimanche soir. Excellente guiness ainsi que les huitres. Le décor de la salle à manger style jungle est très sympatique.

Salle de bain très rudimentaire mais néanmoins très propre.A noter l'existance appréciable d'un sèche-cheveux. Pas de petit-déjeuner anglais seulement quelques céréales, tranches de fromage et pain grillé.

Semplicità e pulizia

När man ser Hotellet utifrån, så ser det kanske lite ruffigt ut. Men när man kom upp i rummet. Så var det litet, men mysigt. Badrummet var minimalt. Så det är inget för storväxta människor. Men atmosfären utanför var helt underbar, det var lite livat på natten när puben stängde. Enkelt, men mysigt på något sätt!

Heel lief gastvrij personeel. Je voelt je heel welkom en prettig in dit gekke kleine hotel met niet veel luxe maar wel persoonlijke aandacht op een top lokatie.

Me ha encantado, esta situado en un excelente sitio, en pleno Nothing Hill. La habitación es pequeña pero suficiente para una noche q es lo que nosotros estuvimos.

El baño era demasiado pequeño.

Het is een klein hotel boven een pub in het drukke gedeelte van Portobello Road, dus een toplocatie. 10 minuten lopen van metrostation Notting Hill Gate. Vriendelijke en behulpzame mensen achter de bar en dat alles bij elkaar maakt het toch een goede keuze. Ontbijt is eenvoudig maar wel lekker.

We hadden kamer 1 en die is echt heel klein. Net zo breed als het bed en ongeveer 3 mtr lang. De badkamer is behelpen: de wc, douche en wastafeltje bevinden zich vlakbij elkaar in een smalle ruimte. Beetje kamperen in een hotel.

vi havde værelset med himmelsengen, og gav da også ekstra for den. men et dejlig værelse, godt nok var gulvet meget klistret... tror ikke de bruger så meget sæbe. men vi tog dette hotel fordi det ligger lige i hjertet af portobello, et skønt sted. kan ikke anbefales til børne familier, d den ligger oven på en pub, men der var ro fra kl 24 ca.

La verdad es que nada

No es un hotel, es un pub tipico ingle con habitaciones como indica su retulo, La hospitalidad no es su fuerte y el desayuno que ofrecen es una cesta con dos tazas, sobres de cafe y te con una jarra para calentar el agua que solo puedes cojer del baño o comprarla. Las camas chirriaban hasta sin moverte y la comodidad no eran lo suyo. El baño es indescriptible y las duchas pueden ser interminables por la poca fuerza que tiene el agua. Despues de "limpiar" la habitacion entraron otra vez en ella sin motivo aparente en una de nuestras salidas. La verdad es que por el precio podia estar bastante mejor

Abbiamo soggiornato 4 notti al Portobello gold ,le camere sono decisamente piccoline ma io che vado da sempre a Londra devo dire che fanno parte di ogni albergo inglese,il bagno minuscolo ma con una doccia fantastica..lenzuola e asciugamani sempre puliti...una vista dalla finestra della camera bellissima...questo piccolo alberghetto e' in piena Portobello road ed e' fantastico...il pub sotto l'albergo..carino ma si può trovare decisamente di meglio...lo consiglierei? Direi proprio di si....

O hotel fica em uma região muito bonita e com cara do filme "Um Lugar Chamado Notting Hill". A rua é a própria e cria um clima romântico.

O Portobello Gold é um hotel diferente. Logo na entrada não foi possível o acesso devido a uma barraca de camelô logo na porta. A entrada é através de um "pub", o que causa de cara uma certa estranheza. O serviço de quarto não existe, o quarto é muito pequeno. O um hotel para ficar o mínimo de tempo possível.

Posto piccolo, ma carino e confortevole. Posizione eccezionale, metro a pochi passi
