Really friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were basic but comfortable and had everything you needed
Food and drink were absolutely wonderful. The setting is quite dramatic in a steep sided valley leading down to the sea.
The bathroom was grim.
Central, easy location, stunning breakfast
slightly dated rooms
Narrow window for taking breakfast.
Very nice staff very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. The Hotel was very nice in a really good location but needs updating.
Couldn't get a signal and was unable to use my phone.
Price, comfortable beds
Shower blocked. Breakfast greasy.
our stay at Portreath Arms Hotel was enhanced by the range of glutton free meals available Thank you
Staff : cheerful and polite greeting, helpful and courteous. Bars: Clean, tidy with well kept real ales and a fair selection of drinks including coffee. Room: Clean, though a little tired and squeaky beds. Food: Basic pub grub of a good standard, breakfast is good with a selection of cereals, orange juice, coffee and full English
Room: A little tired and squeaky beds. Shared bathroom: Toilet and shower only, no hand basin. Again tired. Seal on shower door damaged and left dangling. All the room fire doors very loud slamming shut. The decoration and floor coverings in several areas were very tired, but to be fair the tired décor could be the result of a busy season, although maintenance and cleaning should be carried out throughout the season to maintain the standards for all guests.
This pub accomodation is fantastic value for money. It is right on the route of the South West Coast Path and so ideal for walkers. Nothing fancy but just what you want after a hard days walking. It is just by the historic harbour with a fascinating industrial history. The pub does a good evening meal and the breakfast was huge and wholesome. I will stay here again when in Cornwall.
every thing was good ,we had no complants about any thing at all even the weather was 100% .
the drive from london
The food was amazing! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and slept like a log! Thanks for welcoming us back. We enjoyed our night as much as we did 10 years ago. Many thanks.
Bar staff were friendly
Carpets, and Bath room need renewing
We stayed in room 5, a double room with shared shower. Owners were very accommodating, we arrived later than check in, called on route to explain and they left our key out so we could get in. Beds were comfortable, communal shower/toilet was clean and easy to use. Maid tidied up our room, as we left in a rush on the Saturday and left it a little messy, we came in to find all our stuff in a nice neat organised pile. Which was awesome as it had been a long day out and the thought of tidying up wasn't pleasant. Room was cleaned well on a daily basis, as was bathroom. Bar area, staff and locals were very welcoming and friendly. Short walking distance from the beach and some amazing cliff top views if you don't mind the walk. Great bakery over the road and it's a short drive away from a late night take away, which we used after 12am. All in all it's a great place and we can't wait to go back.
Food very good, staff excellent, just a good basic pub
To be honest nothing worth mentioning. The WiFi was reasonably fast, that's it.
Firstly the Toilet was in a bad shape , its old and untidy . More over the flush was not working properly as well as the shower. I stayed in the top floor which has narrow stair and found it difficult to take the luggage to my room. The room was just ok nothing great ,with a tiny TV at a corner with a faulty remote control. Last but not least the staff was busy serving customers in the bar counter which is sadly the hotel reception as well. They dont have any time to answer my queries or even to explain me about the basic stuff like breakfast timings , restaurant closing times etc. I could not found any one in the counter when we are about to leave and hence we gave the money to the waiter who served as the breakfast . I wont recommend this Hotel to any one who expect value for money ,hassle free stay.
Food in the pub downstairs was fabulous
kettle hard to access
everything, tv not working dirty,
The location was perfect for local attractions with only 30mins travelling to most popular destinations. The staff were exceptional polite, happy to help and was made very welcome.
The tv didn't work, the rooms could do with updating, the bathroom smelt stagnant.
Good food at a good price.
Wifi didn't work. Bed uncomfortable.
friendliness and the help from the owner and staff. good food locale sourced and value for money. portreath has nice little harbour beach area and is quite central for visiting other places around 10 out of10.
A typical sea side pub with a great village atmosphere, I stayed with my 12 year old son, we were made very welcome, and at breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed 5 nights and were given clean towels every day. would I stay again? yes definitely.
Conditions, such as shared bathroom, were primitive. Poor attention to detail. Interior grim.
Nice location, friendly place
Could do with a little updating with the decor in the bedrooms. More electric socket would be useful - round pin plugs are not handy!
Well hotel is not very nice area.not much around.one restaurant Stoch wodny very good anyway. We only slept there and spend all weekend in st ives as it was amaizing there.very pretty and hot where portreat was rainning mostly.
Well hotel is very old.bathroom falling to pieces.couldnt gry hot water to shower..masive spider jest to our breakfast table. Lights were keep going off and on.
Staff were very helpful
Most uncomfortable bed! Smallest shower I have ever seen.
