Staff friendly and efficient particularly as they had a large wedding breakfast and party underway in the hotel. Comfy beds. Only a few miles from my friend's house and her birthday party. The key had gone missing for the room we had been allocated and so we were given another - very newly decorated which was nice but there was a pungent smell of paint so we had to leave the window open on a chilly night. I should have gone back and asked for another room but was too tired by that stage.

Relaxing and friendly atmosphere and staff The ground floor room's patio's or balaconys nearest the fFunction Suite can sometimes get used as smoking station's by the guests who are attending a function, Wedding reception for example. This is annoying for guests staying at the Hotel. When we opened our patio door we were confronted by smokers and a pile of dog ends. Apart from this everything else was fine. The staff made an effort to rectify this situation.

Friendliness of staff, cleanliness and comfort of room, service and food in restaurant in the evening. Limited fruit and cereal selection at breakfast. Cold plates provided for hot buffet breakfast. Premier Inns easily excel at this.

Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room we had was very tired and shabby-looking. Breakfast was very poor - items forgotten both days; cold plates; poor choice; dirty seat pads etc etc We dined in the restaurant the first night and were very disappointed with the limited menu and the poor value.

This was a very relaxing hotel with beautiful scenery. Staff were excellent and friendly. Location is very picturesque. The restaurant is in definate need of a face lift and background music provided by a boom box on a chair doesn't quite warrant a £95.00 a night room charge. Food during breakfast was not readily available and by the time the 'missing' items of food became available you had already finished.

Excellent service by the staff, and good food. The beds, unusually for many hotels, were very comfortable. Outside area at the side and rear a bit "worn".

We were made welcome and had a very pleasant and relaxing few days until the last night - see below Unfortunately there was a wedding on the saturday with many wedding guests staying. These were in rooms amongst weekend gests like ourselves and I'm afraid were very unpleasant until the small hours of the morning. Running up and down corridors, banging on doors, shouting and using foul language to the point when we felt trapped in our room. I am aware that there is a night porter but one person trying to calm quite a crowd could have lead to more problems. In future, if there is a wedding with guests staying, please could they be put in rooms away from 'normal' guests who expect a peaceful night's sleep.

The staff were excellent at all times and the facilities were great. The bar and restaurant areas have been nicely updated and the hotel is very relaxing and in a great location Not a case of not liking, but... The doors, the back of reception and some areas just need a lick of paint. Some of the stair treads need attention as well. It's a very small job for a very big effect!

Location, attitude of people - they tried hard to retrieve a poor situation. Rooms run-down & tawdry. The refurbished room was very similar to the not refurbished room. The hotel building was built some time ago and is not to a modern standard It seems to be struggling and cutting costs. My bet is that it is reliant on the conference market and other business is a bonus.

The room was booked as an overnight for my son and his partner after their civil wedding that afternoon. The reception staff upgraded the room for them without being asked at no extra cost and allowed us into the room to leave a welcome pack. My son and his wife said the room was excellent and the surroundings peaceful
