Powdermills Hotel  

The setting of the Hotel was beautiful and the rooms were first class - the staff were friendly and helpful

If anyone found fault with anything then there is something wrong with them not Powdermills - it was fab

Efficient staff who were very friendly and polite. Beautiful setting with lovely woodland walks adjacent to the hotel grounds which were perfect as we had a dog with us. This was the main reason for booking, in addition to us having family in Hastings. Our room was excellent and maintained daily to a high standard. The restaurant and its staff also provided all that one could ask for. A really relaxing four night stay.

Our stay fullfilled all the requirements we needed for a relaxing break. We extended the stay an extra night as it was so comfortable. Staff were very accommodating and helped when asked. Table service was very good in the restaurant, especially at breakfast. The many leisure rooms on the Ground floor allowed some quiet space to read or talk.

Our only disapointment was the evening meal. The Chef seemed to be vegetable adverse. There was too few vegetables to go with the main course and it seemed to be display over substance, although the food was very good, the cost was in excess to the food provided, which was a pity. Had the cost been more realistic, then we would have eaten in more. Hotel is looking a little tired and is in need of some decoration, having said that the rooms were spotless and were obviously kept in good order by the cleaning staff.

A second visit to Powdermills and it didn't disappoint. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Special thanks to Luke our waiter. The location is excellent in idyllic grounds and close to Battle . Views over the lake are beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. Food was particularly good and very good value. Fine dining at affordable prices. We will definitely be returning.

The only improvement would be to be able to access wi fi in the bedrooms as it was only possible to connect in public rooms.

We needed to be in hastings early ideal location only complaint room was cold due to lack of heating pleased to return to the warmth of the car in the morning

I loved the location and setting. The Hall was welcoming - the lounge areas were calm and relaxing. The room had ample space for sitting and reading etc.

There was nothing I disliked but I would have preferred a room with a better view - (not offered a choice when booking)

Lovely hotel and grounds. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a lot of character with lots of sitting areas and nooks and crannies. Our room was very comfortable and bathroom was small but nice. Breakfast was in the lovely dining room and there wasn't a huge choice but perfectly adequate - cereals, tinned fruit, bread and pastries and hot breakfast like bacon, eggs, etc. Overall we had a great stay and there and I would definitely stay there again.

The place has a feel good factor & we will plan to return again soon. Very rarely can you come away from a place without at least one criticism, but we have none!!!

Good comfortable hotel in an interestiing area not too far from London. We are looking for a nice hotel in Kent/ East Sussex as a regular escape to the country. We have tried many in the area, some good and some bad.
