Good location and it would have been tranquil if you are visiting on a mid week day. Breakfast wa nice although slow service. It was a bit Faulty Towers ish. The main complaint was that we could hear every word spoken in the room next door I.E. thin walls and we were next to a family room occupied by a family who were just being a family.

It's hard to find a hotel of such good quality that is also dog friendly. Powdermills is excellent. Our dog loved his off lead walks around the lakes and was welcome anywhere in the hotel (except the dining room of course). staff made us up our own table in the study next to the restaurant where we enjoyed the most delicious cusine whilst the dog slept under the table. We loved every minute we spent there. The tea spoon to stir the latte coffe was too short, they need some longer ones so you don't stick your fingers in your coffee. That really was the only thing we could come up with!

Stay was in a beautiful country house, which did not feel like a hotel, the building is beautiful, staff friendly and the restaurant, food and aesthetics were fantastic. A good way to wind down at the end of a hard week.

I only stayed for one night but I found the staff friendly and welcoming, the room clean and well furnished, and the environment lush and full of interesting birdlife. What's not to like?

Staff were friendly, dinner was very good The first room was freezing, the second room was a bit warmer but the bathroom was freezing as the towel radiator was not working. The breakfast was very poor as choice was limited. This room was not worth £170 per night

Old world charm and beautiful peaceful setting. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was really delicious and they have won many rosette awards. Wonderful atmosphere and loads of character. Beds were comfortable Room was a little dated and although heating was on full the room was still cold. However we were supplied with an extra heater and all was well.

It is a beautiful situation with lots of character. There was no heating in the bedroom and it took persistent complaints to get it rectified. On checking out, we discovered that we had been overcharged by nearly £100 on our bill, which was due to charging your standard rates rather than the rate we had pre-booked on Booking.com We found the restaurant staff to be very amenable and friendly but the reception staff to be somewhat vacant and not very amenable. They need a shake-up and to go on a customer service training programme ! As we were there as part of the very large number of guests attending the funeral reception, you would have thought that your kitchen could have stayed open later that night. How pathetic that take aways had to be arranged to feed some guests. It is an expensive hotel in which to stay (our bar bills can prove it), but it is not matched by the quality of service.

Loved the character of the hotel. Our room was in the main house and had original features - really lovely. Liked the book to sign in rather than a form. If I was to be picky I would say that we had to wait for quite a long time to have our breakfast hot food order taken but I am sure this was an error.

We selected the hotel to stay one night before a wedding near by. We chose Powdermills Hotel as it seemed the best in the area. We were not disappointed. Our stay was brief, as we arrived late one night and left fairly early in the morning. However we were very well looked after. Room large and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. We may well return for an extended stay. We had no complaints. Some people may find the 'antique style' furnishings and general air of older 'stately home' accommodation not to their liking. We thought it was great!

Fantastic location and restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel last year and the entrance lobby to the pavilion required maintenance (Damp). The bathroom to our room also required attention. This visit the same items had not been attended to.

I have stayed here a few times and the room this time was overlooking the lake which was very tranquil unfortunately the chair in our room was broken but wasn't taken away the same evening and replaced which we thought would happen. Also there was no lock on the bathroom door.

The location was tranquil and very attractive. A few problems were attended to very promptly by attentive staff. Well located for countryside and seaside, with plenty to see in the attractive town of Battle, and Rye not far away too. Hope to return in the future.

It was very beautiful. Loved the peacock in the grounds. Enjoyed walking round the lake. Excellent dinner. Asked for something to eat at about 3pm, when we were finally told what the soup was we ordered one and 2 plates of sandwiches, took 45 mins to come and the soup was nearly cold, no bread roll. Coffee disgusting. Bedroom and bathroom very comfortable but filthy, caned chairs and furniture with finials all need extra time to clean.Lavatory dirty. I don't think the room had been hoovered for several days, cobwebs in the corners. I am very happy to come back and do a cleaning program with the staff.

We chose to stay at Powdermills Hotel because it is situated close to family we were visiting. We were absolutely delighted with the room we were given, the Wellington Suite, and thought this room not only amazing but great value for money. We dined with our family at the hotel on the night of our stay and the service & food was wonderful. Thank you.
