Setting & quality hotel meeting all of our requirements.
Had hoped for a four poster bed but unfortunately we did not get this.
Room, food friendliness of staff, grounds.
Enjoyed the ambience and comfort of the hotel in peaceful location.
very comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Beautiful surroundings and close proximity to Battle.
Quite a large amount of dog's faeces on front lawn.
Overall a very pleasant place to stay with beautiful gardens, pools and park. Walks are accessible from the hotel. The staff are generally helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
The hotel is badly let down by poor wifi. The system is inadequate. We found it only just worked but it was troublesome and irritating. I had the feeling that they don't understand what an adequate wifi system should provide.
Everything, the hotel itself, friendly staff and the wonderful grounds
Powdermills is a beautiful hotel set besides a glorious lake. We had a peaceful evening sat outside with a glass of wine.
Patio doors did not lock, dogs mess outside room
We enjoyed the interesting grounds, walking round the beautiful wooded edge of a large lake with ducks and geese, a lovely unspoilt area. We stayed in the pavilion our room had a balcony overlooking the pool, very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was just right with a good choice. Near to Rye,one of the few unspoilt towns in England and Battle steeped in history both worth a visit. All in all a very interesting experience and one I would like to repeat sometime.
Friendly, attentive staff. Beautiful grounds. Attractive, comfortable seating areas inside and out. We had a lovely suite with balcony. Just perfect for a relaxing, "away from it all" break.
The setting is superb with a small lake & various animals wandering freely. My bedroom was quiet, comfortable & included tea/ coffee making equipment. Staff were friendly & professional too. An excellent choice!
The included full breakfast was a little disappointing. The serve-your-self items, (juice, cereal, yoghurt, etc), had a good selection. My negative comment is that my fried eggs were overdone & the fried bread soggy...inexcusable in my opinion. Fried bread is one of my indulgences when in a hotel. That said "The Orangery" restaurant is lovely & the staff excellent.
We loved the tranquil settings, the delious food, attentive staff and the comfortable bedroom. We walked in the grounds and chatted with fellow guests. George the peacock was a wonderful sight! Will be back.
Having to go home!
Location Grounds - gorgeous! Lots of wildlife too Beautifully presented food Fantastic sized Junior suits
food was beautifully presented but was pretty tasteless. We also waiting over an hour for our food as they muddled our table numbers. But the staff were very good but I noticed they still charged a 10% service charge! The utensils were very pretty however the knives blunt and we had to ask for steak knives to cut the meat. The room was lovely, but a bit lacking in decoration and felt bland. Also, they left a half eaten bag of biscuits on the tray and no pen but a prominently left feedback form?!
the grounds/ location, the buildings and public spaces all excellent, the food was outstanding. the staff were brilliant, and tried very hard to please.
Now power shower, only a mix it your self bath tap shower, not thermostatic, no air con in the room, or even a fan, the room was lovely but very very hot,
The tranquil location
The rooms need abit of TLC. Service was slow but worth the wait
Location was pretty
Attitude of staff was surly
Staff excellent, friendly, polite and efficient. Lovely gardens and lakes, ducks and a beautiful peacock. Peace and quiet a great break.
Perhaps a gentle reminder from the staff, or a polite notice, for visitors to use facilities to put their cigarette butts. A great pity to see them, when the gardens and patios were kept so beautiful.
Fantastic setting, very good quality food and the general relaxed feel about the place.
Menu quite small and they didn't seem enthusiastic to offer the bar menu (though when we got it it was also very good).
We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was spacious and beautifully furnished, with patio doors leading onto a balcony. I was suffering from a stomach bug and the weather exceptionally hot and humid - it was a wonderful place to rest and recuperate with attentive staff supplying iced water.
Having to leave!
The room No9. the bathroom poor lighting, the window blind did not work, with the loss of privacy. because the weather was very hot at the nightime. We had to draw the curtains which made the room so hot and stuffy.
Very pleasant and relaxing hotel, surprisingly good for a three star rated hotel. The grounds are well kept and delightful.
We had absolutely no problem with everything staff where lovely
We stayed there for our wedding night my friends who also stayed on from our wedding had multiple problems with their rooms from broken blinds to lumpy beds put a bit of a dampers on our special day
We liked the overall hotel the staff where lovely
The first room no 37 we where offered Had a terrible bed really poor quality. it also had a huge crack in the washbasin it was small airless and shabby The upgrade we paid extra for was ok, no different than a holiday inn room. we spent a sleepless night as it was positioned over a generator, which ran all night making the floor vibrate with the noise, it was terrible ! then at 6.00 am it was turned off ! I wouldn't recommend this hotel as value for money. It is a shame as it is a beautiful place. which needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to standards that warrant the prices they are charging.
Everything was ok
Dirty mirrors and breakfast
