Colin and Jane are very welcoming hosts. A beautiful house and gardens. We had a marvellous breakfast!
Offered tea or coffee on arrival which was very welcome after a long drive! Jane and Colin were friendly. The room was done to a very high standard and it was great to have a bottle of water alongside the tea and coffee as well as some fruit on offer! Breakfast was excellent - a great selection and all of a very high quality. I would definitely stay here again.
Nothing! If I'm really picky I missed the entrance the first time but that's because it was dark. The directions are clear - just follow them carefully if you are arriving in the dark.
Friendly hosts Old world charm Extra special touches- water, fruit and biscuits in room Welcoming breakfast set up Good selection for breakfast
This is a beautiful place to stay. It's very close to Wallace Monument and has many acres of lovely grounds. When we arrived, the lady of the house invited us to the library for tea and cookies. The location is quiet and serene. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was modern and spacious and contained a working towel warmer. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
I could not locate a hair dryer. An iron would have been helpful.
Jane and Colin were very accommodating. Colin drove us to a restaurant in the hills, and made sure the owner would get us a taxi home. Lovely setting, not too far out of town, but not within walking distance. The piano music coming from downstairs added to the charm of this guest house.
Though the charm of an old timey bathroom was quaint, the bathtub was rusty around the drain and not suitable for a bath. Would benefit possibly from re-glazing the tub and shining up the fixtures. The sink was also an antique, but the porcelain was very cracked.
Everything. Very homely.
Owners delightful, helpful, welcomed with cup of tea and biscuits. Rooms very traditional, which is great for listed building. Location for city ideal. Breakfast really good, old fashioned china, set out on large dining table. Sets you up for the day.
Everything! Facilities were excellent. Food (including choices) was wonderful. Staff was so gracious and committed to making our visit a success. We'll go back.
Powis House is a charming 17th century house set amid lovely woods. The rooms are spacious and quiet (as quiet as they can be in an old house with wooden floors). The breakfast was excellent and the owners are very nice people. Located only 6 minutes from Stirling and 5 minutes from the restaurants and pubs at Bridge of Allan, the location is ideal for those travelling by car.
Excellent breakfast. Great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Use of nicley decorated lounge and dining room.
The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was perfect. The bathroom was fabulous. All and all a delightful stay!
Cannot think of anything I didn't enjoy!
Excellent breakfast, good quality and kept us going all day. Owners very helpful and welcoming. The house was beautiful and the residents lounge great for relaxing in and meeting other residents. Loved the hens.
Well kept. Loads of character. Very good breakfast.
Little bit difficult to find
Friendly welcome Great setting Helpful hosts Clean Food
Bed a bit lumpy
Warm welcome. Very comfortable rooms and facilities. Superb breakfast.
Everything was perfect -even the weather ! Comfy beds, excellent facilities, a lounge area to use if required, with TV and fridge with fresh milk .The ambiance of the house and garden was very relaxing, and in a beautiful setting. Breakfast excellent with fresh fruit and wonderfully cooked options
Nothing, but to be aware that as is the way with 17/18th century houses - there are many stairs to climb to the bedrooms. This is not a problem as there is ready help with any luggage, but people with a hip problem may find this presents some difficulty.
The peace and quiet, the beautiful setting, and the sense of time standing still.
Helpful friendly owners who drove us to restaraunts for dinner.
Colin and karan the owners the house and the food the setting all excellent made to feel so relaxed. and wellcome .
It was a wonderful feel to walk into this manor house the owner were very friendly and helpful. We loved it.
Absolutely stunning property, within spectacular grounds! A real true gem.. The owners provided a warm welcoming and wonderful service. Would most definitely stay there again.
I could not stay longer!
The owners went above and beyond to assist us in any way. Our airline got us in town 4 hours late. We were tired and had problems with our GPS. When we called from a local food store they came out and retrieved us. We followed them back to their place at 930pm at night. They are delightful and gave us a lovely tour of their property. We loved it so much. Only wish we had more time with them at their beautiful property.
Can't think of one thing!
This was a blessing of a booking probably the best place we have ever stayed at. Our hosts were perfect, very welcoming, the place was spotless, the views from our rooms were stunning. Breakfast was perfect and as much as anyone could eat. The location was central and ideal for our visit to Bannockburn Live. We cannot wait to return. A very big thank you to our hosts
I would dare anyone to not love this beautiful place
