Friendly welcome with tea and biscuits, beautiful house, superb surroundings and comfortable room. We couldn't fault anything and the breakfast was lovely with a good choice and nicely cooked. Excellent value
Only a small thing, both the rooms are on the second floor up steep flights of stairs, maybe a problem for less mobile people, however the owner offered help with our luggage which was great.
It was a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. Fabulous.
Genuine welcome at every turn Superb breakfasts Beautifully appointed room Luxurious towels Helpful directions and restaurant bookings

All was fine
Powis House is a charming 17th century house, the rooms are spacious and quiet, the breakfast is excellent. Located only a few minutes by car from Stirling, restaurants and pubs. Colin and Jane are very welcoming hosts. Thank you!
This was one of our favorites! Beautiful house and grounds, lovely room, great breakfast. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would have loved to have stayed longer.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt we were staying at our close friend's house. Colin & Jane greeted us with a helpful smile each time they saw us walk or drive into the property. They went out of their way to assist with any requests we had. They made us feel so, so welcome. The property, an 18th century three storey mansion sprawled over many acres is located up a quiet country lane away from all the noise and traffic. The grounds are well looked after and you get a real sense of yesteryear. Now for the breakfasts.... We cannot rave enough about the quality and variety of the continental & cooked breakfasts provided each morning. The food was fresh, there was a great selection to choose from and it was cooked perfectly. We struggled to eat meals for the rest of the day....we ate too much at breakfast!! Besides a lovely dining room, the house provides a large lounge room with fire place and views over the property to enjoy the afternoon hours while sipping a nice glass of wine and nibbling on cheese. Again all the utensils, glasses, etc were provided by Colin & Jane with a smile. We will definitely stay at Powis House again when visiting Stirling!!
Colin and Jane are very welcoming hosts. A beautiful house and gardens. We had a marvellous breakfast!
Offered tea or coffee on arrival which was very welcome after a long drive! Jane and Colin were friendly. The room was done to a very high standard and it was great to have a bottle of water alongside the tea and coffee as well as some fruit on offer! Breakfast was excellent - a great selection and all of a very high quality. I would definitely stay here again.
Nothing! If I'm really picky I missed the entrance the first time but that's because it was dark. The directions are clear - just follow them carefully if you are arriving in the dark.
Friendly hosts Old world charm Extra special touches- water, fruit and biscuits in room Welcoming breakfast set up Good selection for breakfast
Better discription how to find it
This is a beautiful place to stay. It's very close to Wallace Monument and has many acres of lovely grounds. When we arrived, the lady of the house invited us to the library for tea and cookies. The location is quiet and serene. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was modern and spacious and contained a working towel warmer. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
I could not locate a hair dryer. An iron would have been helpful.
Jane and Colin were very accommodating. Colin drove us to a restaurant in the hills, and made sure the owner would get us a taxi home. Lovely setting, not too far out of town, but not within walking distance. The piano music coming from downstairs added to the charm of this guest house.
Though the charm of an old timey bathroom was quaint, the bathtub was rusty around the drain and not suitable for a bath. Would benefit possibly from re-glazing the tub and shining up the fixtures. The sink was also an antique, but the porcelain was very cracked.
Everything. Very homely.
Owners delightful, helpful, welcomed with cup of tea and biscuits. Rooms very traditional, which is great for listed building. Location for city ideal. Breakfast really good, old fashioned china, set out on large dining table. Sets you up for the day.
Everything! Facilities were excellent. Food (including choices) was wonderful. Staff was so gracious and committed to making our visit a success. We'll go back.
Powis House is a charming 17th century house set amid lovely woods. The rooms are spacious and quiet (as quiet as they can be in an old house with wooden floors). The breakfast was excellent and the owners are very nice people. Located only 6 minutes from Stirling and 5 minutes from the restaurants and pubs at Bridge of Allan, the location is ideal for those travelling by car.
Excellent breakfast. Great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Use of nicley decorated lounge and dining room.
The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was perfect. The bathroom was fabulous. All and all a delightful stay!
Cannot think of anything I didn't enjoy!
Excellent breakfast, good quality and kept us going all day. Owners very helpful and welcoming. The house was beautiful and the residents lounge great for relaxing in and meeting other residents. Loved the hens.
Well kept. Loads of character. Very good breakfast.
