Everything was good, staff very helpful and teh accommodation was great.
The room was exceptionally hot during the night, which did disturb the sleep.
Location, comfy roomy
Not much water pressure for shower, only let down.
Location is fair and the staff were friendly enough but it was an unpleasant hotel to stay in.
The hotel has clearly not had any money invested in it for a very very long time. The decor is tired. My bedlinen was stained and the pillows smelt. The bathroom was dirty and there were cracks in the ceilings. The furniture was old but not in a good way.
I booked for a double room, but it turns out a king size bed.
Wifi is poor!
Within easy walking distance of all Bath's attractions.
Hotel a little dated.
Great location and friendly helpful staff
My room was in desperate need of refurbishment - peeling enamel in the bath etc
Location excellent for rail, bus and city centre... Warm, comfortable, clean, large rooms... As a solo traveller I felt very welcome and at ease. I would definitely stay again
As other reviewers say, the hotel is dated but I didn't mind that... Breakfast was extra, and everything 'serve yourself' - I prefer some service and would have liked a greater selection of fresh fruit
Loved the fact that it wasn't part of a chain. Had character and a kind of 70s/80s feel to it which took me back to my childhood! Breakfast was lovely. Very handy for Bath train station.
I can understand other's criticisms of the plumbing and overall need for renovation, but these things didn't bother me at all. Rather they added to the charm! Americans and others who care about plumbing just need a little patience and calmness in working out how to regulate the shower temperature!
location, breakfast was not as bad, welcome staff
The hotel was not renovated for ages if not centuries. Everything is very old, inc. room facilities ( can be an issue unless you are directing a documentary on Jane Austin there). Upon my arrival I was offered probably the worst room in the hotel on the first floor where besides all I found the bed linen unchanged from the previous guest! I requested immediate change of the room and was provided with one on the top floor which was better to some extend and much cleaner, though shower didn't work and the linen was clean but of that old yellowish color. Too expensive for such a poor quality.
Wifi worked in rooms
Shower took ages to get warm, weak pressure, broken tiles and wonky toilet seat
clean, good location~close to railway station and view points.
The interior is very worn. Looks like the last refurbish was 30 years ago. Paint chippings on the architrave and skirting boards have just been neglected. The shower mixer did not work properly either so water was either very hot or very cold. For the price (129 pounds for 1 night) I would have expected a higher standard than this.
The whole scenery of the hotel, the lounges, the thick carpets - the atmosphere of an ancient, classy hotel.
The bar (also serving the out door facilities) were manned by the desk staff, meaning the bar was in effect UNmanned. Had to sit in for out door drinks at the neighbouring hotel...
Good location. Clean. Comfortable bed.
Had to pay for parking.
Location fantastic. room was a good size with a terrific view. The room was spic and span and the cleaning staff excellent
Didn't dislike anything
Very center located with great access from both buss and railway terminals; nice old-fashioned hotel.
Our spacious bathroom would have been more than dream and perfection, if it would have had a bath.
The hotel was well located, and our room was clean. We had afternoon tea which was good.
We were booked in for breakfast and it was very poor and very basic. Dishes that should have part of the breakfast menu you had to pay extra for. The staff were indiferent.
Perfect locality nice staff great breakfast
very outdated grotty bathroom musty smell , pity it could be a great place .not good value for money.
The ladies at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful. They were more like friends than hotel staff.
Our room faced the front street so on a very busy Saturday night it was very noisy most of the night.
I love the history of the Hotel, all the period features, and it is so handy for the city centre. The staff were very friendly. I was comfortable and felt at home there. The bed was just right and I slept very well indeed.
The decor in my room (314) was very tired - wall-paper peeling off and a very grubby brown mark near one of the windows. The lights over the dressing table would not come on at first, then later when reading in bed they did of their own accord - strange! and the lighting could have been better in the bathroom - for doing make-up. My towels were not brought to my room until after 4.00. No scrambled eggs or hash browns at the breakfast bar.
Pratts hotel was in the best possible location. The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and helpful, and volunteered lots of helpful information. The room with 2 single bed that I booked for my friends was luckily, a very nicely decorated room, with great view over the front of the hotel and the hills in distance. The place was very clean and perfect for 1-2 nights' stay. The hotel had a down at heel charm to it, like an elderly faded aunt who has seen better days. But this is not a negative.
While my friends had a beautiful room, my own single room was, for the price, disappointing. The view was of the back of buildings, the basin in the bathroom was cracked, the tiles behind the toilet were cracked, broken or missing. None of this affected my stay and the room was comfortable and clean. I just feel that for £71, my money should have bought me something quite a bit better than what felt a bit like a servant girl's room in a garrett.....
The bathrooms need to be updated.
