Breakfast and evening meals Service Quiet Location Clean
Door of the room hard to open Telephone in the room didn't work (no need to use it, though)
Location, staff friendliness and value for money
Shower was not really very good; but bath great!
Location of hotel
bathroom needs updating,also room.
It was close to everything
It was attached to a night club & there was much loud partying until 4-5 am! Not something I expected when visiting historic Bath.
Noise from in and outside were practically non existent. Comfy, cosy room. Fantastic location at a reasonable price for being central in the city. Staff were lovely , friendly and helpful
The bath needs replacing as lots of scratches
Location is the only plus to this hotel .
In desperate need of rehabilitation! Old, outdated furniture, soiled carpets , inadequate lighting and windows that do not properly close. I understand that the hotel has been purchased and will close down for 2 years undergoing the process . Unfortunately they are still taking reservations until then! Avoid the experience! I wish I had!
Location to Bath centre. Good breakfast
A bit shabby, needs a refurbishment, but ok.
Very friendly hotel, nice little bar and good breakfast- not unreasonable at 10 pound each compared to other hotels. Good location.
Decor is terrible, really in need of a revamp-however it is well cleaned. Shower scolds and freezes at will!
In major need of refurbishment
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I needed to switch rooms and that was done easily. The food on the whole was a good standard.
The first bedroom was shabby. Due to a water leak which made the room damp and smelly I had to move rooms. The second room was not quite as shabby but the matress was ruined and I could not lay comfortably on it. The cleanliness was poor. Trying to get a shower was not good the water varied between freezing and boiling. For a centrally located hotel in bath with a price premium the accommodation standard needs to be much better
Food, staff and the location.
Desperately needs a refurbishment.
Staff were very friendly
Furniture and furnishings bit shabby, ciould do with a facelift.
Everything else. I have complained to the hotel with photos and they haven't bothered to even acknowledge my e-mail. I would like to know how I can get a refund - do I ask Booking.com or the Hotel Direct?
Central location Nice room Can leave our luggage there on the last day. Helpful if the train is a late one.
Location . Reception was fine.
the location of this hotel was great and I think it is relying on this as its selling point. The building looks beautiful from the outside but don't be fooled by its facade. The interior does not match . the room was boiling .. Made slightly cooler by turning off heaters and opening both windows . The decor was extremely dated . Bed sheets and towels were clean as you would expect but the ceiling looked like it was about to fall in on us and The bathroom looked like a relic from the 60's ... Flaking tiles and all. There was absolutely no water pressure so we had to go without a shower in the morning . Was the most expensive and most disappointing of all the hotels on our trip . Glad we were only there one night.
Central location of hotel in a stylish 1740's Georgian terrace close to Abbey, Roman Baths, transport links and main shopping area. Staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Free Wi~Fi in bedroom was fast and reliable. En~suite bathroom had a proper bath (as opposed to merely a shower) with plenty of hot water.
The buffet breakfast was completely self~service. You even have to make your own coffee from a machine! Third~floor bedroom was on the hot side of warm but ground floor dining room (facing street) was cold and draughty. The hotel is fit for purpose but needs some money spent on it.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Great location.
Rather tired decor.
Super close to shops, Abbey and train/bus stations. Reasonable price and mega comfy bed.
Lift was quite claustrophobic and tiny
Location Large room Comfy bed Beautiful old building Very clean
Impossible to park - we drove around for 2 hours!! Hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment
Location excellent, breakfast very good, plenty of choices and the food was hot and regularly refilled. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Ensuite a little tired, could do with up dating, general decorating in bedroom but did not affect my visit and would definitely revisit this hotel.
Location & staff
Building in need of refurbishment, breakfast
After a poor nights sleep due to cold and constant noise from adjacent lift but an enjoyable breakfast I complained to the day staff who were very helpful and offered 2 alternative rooms at the front of the building. We opted to move and had a much better second day/night and another good breakfast which has just about restored my faith in this hotel which we have been using for the last 5 years.
Initial allocated room cold, ineffective ancient radiator, décor tired, insufficient space for a double bed, bath tiny & low pressure in shower. When I complained to the evening reception staff she was not helpful. There is a distinct problem with the hotels plumbing as both rooms had poor shower pressure/regulators.
Location, friendliness of staff who were very helpful. Hotel was very warm. We had a large family room for two of us which was a nice surprise and the bed linen/towels were spotless and the room clean. Hotel being refurbished so bathroom will be modernised but loads of hot water so that was great. Nice festive start to the season.
