Breakfast ok staff very friendly .
The hotel just needs a face lift
Very quiet - hotel is on a side road, facing onto a square, yet central - can get easily from Bath station. Room 315 very quiet, top floor, away from lift and stairs - but beware steps up to bathroom! Big bed - 2 singles zipped together? couldn't feel the join. Cheerful staff, clean, good breakfast. Note this is not a new hotel building, so furniture and bathrooms are not purpose-built and new - but they all work very well.
Pillows very thick and a bit hard - but if that's all there is, it's nothing to worry about! No car parking in hotel; use adjacent municipal open car park; £12.50 per day (chargeable 8am-8pm); can do by text message from mobile phone. Don't know if any accessible rooms - would need to ask hotel; we didn't use lift, there are plenty of stairs but bit narrow up to top floor.
The staff were friendly.Hotel was warm and was central
Like others said, rooms are tired but location and staff were great.
Location - good location for all sights and shopping Bath has to offer
Breakfast - very poor value for money tea and coffee were almost undrinkable and for the price we should of had more choice without having to pay extra.
Staff helpful and location excellent
Very tired decor, could be fantastic if refurbished well, bathroom suites so old they were grey.
Location Staff Willingness to compensate us for terrible shower experience
Shower was unuseable
Close to Thia restaurant, short walk to huntsman pub and close to the shops
Hotel dated but expected as we have stayed before
the staff were all friendly and very helpful, nice big room with a comfortable bed and all the facilities you would expect. I did not have any food there so cannot comment.
The hotel has seen better days but I was told it was to be refurbished though I do hope they keep some of the character of the hotel.
Location, staffs helpfulness, breakfast very nice with lots to choose from.
Could not use wifi as required a pass key and this was not provided in any of the literature. The decor is looking quite tired . Shower would benefit from being an electronic one as the temperature fluctuations due to others using water made it hard work.
Step off the train and you are practically there. Just around the corner you have the centre of town.
The hotel is looking a little tired on the decor.
Very nice staff who are happy to help, room was very comfortable and clean. I liked the vintage feel of the hotel. The breakfast was also very good: well worth the money!
Wifi was not working properly even though the receptionist was very happy to give us the codes.
The staff where excellent very helpfull
The bath was all chipped the carpet was bad cut my foot on the gripper rod carpet all thread bear . Very dustier
Very easy to get to the rugby ground. Very accommodating for an early check in, bag drop off. Car parking opposite hotel, council should offer discount car parking for residents.
Although the hotel it's self is dated it does add to the charm, location is excellant and the staff were helpful and accommodating, our room was comfy for our 1night stay, we added breakfast , hot and cold buffet and plenty if it.
The only negative ....We stayed in room 217, I've stood under drips quicker and stronger than the shower if we were there for more than one night I would of asked to be moved , however wouldn't put me off staying again.
Great location - right next to the most beautiful part of Bath - the abbey and the River Avon Great atmosphere - you could really imagine what it was like for those taking the waters 250 years ago Very friendly staff - immediately reacted to any "problems"
The bed was uncomfortable for me (but my kids were perfectly happy) The shower was difficult to control temperature-wise The wiring was a bit suspect (we lost a fuse while watching TV, which was fixed immediately)
Breakfast and evening meals Service Quiet Location Clean
Door of the room hard to open Telephone in the room didn't work (no need to use it, though)
Location, staff friendliness and value for money
Shower was not really very good; but bath great!
Location of hotel
bathroom needs updating,also room.
It was close to everything
It was attached to a night club & there was much loud partying until 4-5 am! Not something I expected when visiting historic Bath.
Noise from in and outside were practically non existent. Comfy, cosy room. Fantastic location at a reasonable price for being central in the city. Staff were lovely , friendly and helpful
The bath needs replacing as lots of scratches
Location is the only plus to this hotel .
In desperate need of rehabilitation! Old, outdated furniture, soiled carpets , inadequate lighting and windows that do not properly close. I understand that the hotel has been purchased and will close down for 2 years undergoing the process . Unfortunately they are still taking reservations until then! Avoid the experience! I wish I had!
Location to Bath centre. Good breakfast
A bit shabby, needs a refurbishment, but ok.
Very friendly hotel, nice little bar and good breakfast- not unreasonable at 10 pound each compared to other hotels. Good location.
Decor is terrible, really in need of a revamp-however it is well cleaned. Shower scolds and freezes at will!
