Central location; friendly staff; good breakfast
Hotel had a certain faded elegance often found in old seaside resorts - might benefit from a bit of sprucing up
Location and staff.
Place is run down and dilapidated and in urgent need of refurbishment.
Great location- clean and comfortable
Breakfast wasn't included
Location friendly staff
Dated and worn decor
The staff were very friendly, efficient and organised
The room was far too hot. However as health and safety hasnt ruined this hotel i was able to open the sash window to its full extent and cool the room down.....however, lowering the heating across all rooms would probably allow for cheaper rooms???
Good price, excellent location. The day reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was basic and in need of an upgrade but served its purpose generally.
Room was somewhat cold and draughty. Moreover I had been told on checking in that the bar was open 24 hours to residents but when I asked for a drink at 12:05am I was told by the night receptionist that he could not oblige as he had 'just cleaned the bar'! Need to get their policies straight on this.
Room bed not comfortable staff not friendly other than one spanish lady breakfast was ok but plates not clean
Staff were lovely and location good. Parking accessible in car park very close by
Rooms in need of a face lift but were fine.
Great central location. Lots of local attractions
close to town value for money didnt have breakfast
the staff were first class
the hotel décor needs a little bit of tlc
We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Hotel was a bit dated but it had so much character, as this is Bath after all! I wouldn't like it any other way. We will definitely be going back for sure.
Location, price, dog friendly
Bar dingy, very nice bars close to hotel
Bar price was good
£10 for a breakfast
Friendliness of all staff and excellent location
hotel being central
dog poo on the stairs
Room was hot and could not turn the radiator off but managed to open the window, so comfortble, clean bed and room. Breakfast was good and plentiful and the rooms are old with lots of character.
Lady on reception was not particularly welcoming or cheerful. Unfortunately she was there when we checked out as well and could do with some customer service skills.i
Location Character of Hotel Good Staff
Bed was too hard with springs sticking into you. Too hot (in January) and couldn't open windows but that would have noisy anyway. Shower useless.
price and location
room was hot all night though radiator was off. Most hotels seem to have this problem though.
The cost. The location. Clean
Single bed, shower, windows not opening, general decoration, run down. Advertised parking but had to use a car park.
Breakfast ok staff very friendly .
The hotel just needs a face lift
Very quiet - hotel is on a side road, facing onto a square, yet central - can get easily from Bath station. Room 315 very quiet, top floor, away from lift and stairs - but beware steps up to bathroom! Big bed - 2 singles zipped together? couldn't feel the join. Cheerful staff, clean, good breakfast. Note this is not a new hotel building, so furniture and bathrooms are not purpose-built and new - but they all work very well.
Pillows very thick and a bit hard - but if that's all there is, it's nothing to worry about! No car parking in hotel; use adjacent municipal open car park; £12.50 per day (chargeable 8am-8pm); can do by text message from mobile phone. Don't know if any accessible rooms - would need to ask hotel; we didn't use lift, there are plenty of stairs but bit narrow up to top floor.
The staff were friendly.Hotel was warm and was central
Like others said, rooms are tired but location and staff were great.
Location - good location for all sights and shopping Bath has to offer
Breakfast - very poor value for money tea and coffee were almost undrinkable and for the price we should of had more choice without having to pay extra.
