Note the spa gets fairly busy but it’s really very good. Rest of hotel let down a little by insufficient attention to detail, eg check-in wasn’t great, housekeeping not prompt with extras and restaurant fully booked with a number of non-guests. Traditional room was excellent. It’s an old hotel and quite spread out - be prepared for steps and slopes.

It had a beautiful spacious feel to it, combining an oldy-worldy charm with modern facilities. First-class food, comfortable bed, superb spa and health facilities. I felt utterly relaxed after two nights at this hotel. All the staff were helpful and friendly and highly professional. I noticed little things they did.
