This hotel is just a 15 minute walk from the center of town and only a 10 minute drive from the glorious beaches of North Devon.
Score from 360 reviews Very good
At Barnstaple's only 4-star hotel offering traditional Edwardian luxury, you can enjoy a central location overlooking the Taw River. There is a formal restaurant, free parking and large leafy grounds....
Score from 279 reviews Excellent
Set in 3 acres of beautiful grounds, Cedars Inn features a conservatory restaurant and free parking. The inn is situated just outside Barnstable, a 20-minute drive from Exmoor National Park.
Score from 434 reviews Good
Situated across from Rock Park and only a short level walk to the center of town, this modern 3-star hotel offers easy access to the countryside and beaches of North Devon.
Score from 189 reviews Very good
Very nice room in a quiet location. The staff were very friendly, informative and responsive - I inadvertently pulled the call cord in the bathroom and an attendant arrived in seconds. The full English breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Shower water pressure was low - barely threw a stream 8 inches past the nozzle - quite a bit lower than everywhere else we stayed.
Warmth of room, very comfortable bed, bright bathroom. Consideration given to a lone, female visitor.
Clean and tidy
A good it humid during the night
ROOM HYPNOS BED
OPPRESSIVE HEAT AND NO VENTILATION DUE TO BAD WINDOW DESIGN
The beds were very comfortable and the perfect height for me - not too high or too low. Excellent big telly. The restaurant had very reasonable prices, good food and was nice and near. Added to this a 24 hour Tesco was over the road so it wasn't our only option. The receptionist on the night we arrived (Michelle) was fantastic. She was helpful and professional and made sure we knew when hot food would stop being served. Let's just say in the short time we spoke to her she did everything possible to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you Michelle! The disabled facilities are excellent. The room is roomy enough for a wheelchair as is the bathroom. And there's lots of storage space if you like to keep a tidy room and a lot of it is at wheelchair height. There's an emergency call bell for disabled solo travellers. Nice check-out time too (12 noon).
Afternoon receptionist was a bit surly (well who could follow Michelle?) and hotel location was initially quite difficult to find.
A good base to see and visit north Devon.
Thought the daily rate expensive.
Nothing to dislike!
Very friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and very comfy bed. Good choice of free tv channels.
Lenny Henry may fit snugly in the bed, but there's no way he'd fit in the bath! It's very small and uncomfortable. Also unless you have a mobile, there is no way of contacting reception. Fingers crossed the network doesn't go down. Tea and coffee facilities were barely adequate.
staff were polite and helpful also good breakfast.
cobweb over headboard there for duration of stay 7 nights 1/3 of toilet paper for 3 days tissue dispenser empty until I left it open for the cleaners to re fill.
Hypnos bed was not comfortable
Friendly staff and clean
Table Table restaurant next door. Fully booked on the night we were staying. A lot of very annoyed people staying at premier inn couldn't get in.
The location and premises were at the standard I have come to expect. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
We would have been a bigger group but one or two felt the price structure over the holiday period was a little expensive. I have rebooked for a second week end whereby the cost for an equivalent 3 night stop is almost £50 cheaper which for some retired people is the difference beteen being affordable and not. I would like to know the ceapest the rooms were available if booked at their earliest?
Friendly staff both table table and premium inn thank you
No newspaper service
topricey would go local b b nextime
No ice in bar at Table Table for drinks
Location staff and breakfast
Bedroom little bit stuffy and cramped feeling.
Size of room and fans in room.
Rooms were comfortableand had everything that was needed for a good stay
Have still yet to find a room at £29.00 somewhere!!!! Paid £94.00
The room was clean, there were extra pillows and also a fan. The shower was also quite powerful
The room smelt slightly damp
friendly helpful staff
the room was incredibly hot - no air conditioning and windows that open only about 3 cm at the bottom. we were provided with a very small fan which helped, but still we struggled with the stuffiness and heat.
staff very friendly and helpful, including the pub/restaurant next door, food excellent
there was no shower/hair gel in the shower dispenser provided, and we spent a very uncomfortable night due to the lumpy mattress. we reported these issues to the receptionist who told us that the mattress was due for replacement the following week, and in all fairness did offer us a refund which we declined (that not being the reason we had reported it)we will stay with you again, but can we have Lenny Henrys mattress next time!
Noise from movement in room above. Difficulty opening room door. No hot water in the mornings. Menu had food stains. Poor quality food and service from eatery next door. Good quality food available from supermarket opposite at half the price. No air conditioning made sleeping difficult. Only found out after 2 days that WiFi was free next door. Payment was taken at beginning of 3-day stay.
I like the fact that you can check-in at any time (24-7). I also like the plentiful free parking and the quiet but convenient location of the Barnstaple Premier Inn.
I found the couch in the room rather uncomfortable.
lovely location just right for my family visit.
only allowed 30mins free internet connection.Should be included in price.
We were very comfortable, room very good. We live locally and decided to stay there while our bathroom at home was being altered we know that Premier Inns have a good reputation.
The pillows, even the softer ones were to firm for me, so we called in home and got my own feather pillow, then slept well the rest of the week.
