Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It features 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.

The hotel is in a excellent position, the staff were very friendly and helpfull!! Breakfast was very good plenty of choice. I would certainly stay here again!!
Closeness to town
Nice hotel with pleasant staff.
We had a room with disability access as my husband is elderly. The room was fine but the lighting was terrible. Really difficult especially for an elderly person. We talked to reception and they sent up two extra standard lights which helped a little. They also said that others have complained earlier but there have been no improvements done.
We were travelling with an elderly relative and wanted accommodation near to the Pavilion so the Premier Inn was ideal and right opposite. Although a bit expensive, a multi storey car park at the back of the hotel had an adjoining door enabling users to come and go without a long walk. There was a small discount for users if they were staying at the hotel. The twin/double room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Lots of hot water and a decent shower over the bath. Breakfast was excellent value for money and was 'all you can eat'. Dining staff were very attentive and ready to provide anything needed. Costa coffee in the automatic machine was delicious and there was no limit on the number of cups you might want to drink. The evening meal was of a very high standard and could not be faulted. Apart from the niggling comments in 'what we didn't like', our stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed ourselves. There is a cosy bar on the Reception floor with easy chairs and settees, just right for chilling out with a drink or two.
The room was a bit on the cool side and the air conditioning initially blew cold air into the room. It took a while to heat it up. Bath and shower was not really suited to an elderly person as there was only one rail at the back end of the bath and nothing on the side for support. The only real problem was that there was no overhead light and the side lights were not bright enough for someone with visual impairment. We had taken cash to pay for the rooms but had no id on us so had to resort to a debit card although we understood the reason why. My driving licence is the original green version with no photograph and I did not have my passport with me.
Perfect location. Hotel decorated to very high standard. Will come again.
After the concert that we attended, visited the only bar in the hotel to be open, asked for Irish coffee and Guiness, "Can't do the coffee here" Guiness from a can as draught not on, Stella pump finished. One very abrupt girl serving a crowd of unhappy residents. Spoilt the end of a goo day. Disco next door was very noisy until after midnight.
Sea view, location, cleanliness, excellent friendly staff, great food.
on the whole - all
heating in room and only one bath towell
Location, rooms simple but comfortable, good breakfast. I would go back.
having to pay for WiFi.
bar and restaurant were very good drinks not over priced and food and service spot on, the meal deal is well worth the money. room was comfortable clean and I had a balcony so could have a smoke with out going all the way down stairs check in was warm and friendly and quick. there is a car park to the rear of hotel with access right in to hotel reception and you can get a discount on parking cost, all in all a good place to stay and I would use it again.
there was nothing to dislike about this place
Cleanliness of rooms and facilities like hairdryer, tea and Coffe were available Hot water for shower and bath
Cost to use Wi fi Expensive breakfast if this wasn't included with the room.
the parking is excellent a joined to the hotel. Everything is in walking distance and the room itself was excellent value for money. Will stay with the premier inn again.
The landing entrance door slammed, didn't impact on me but must have been annoying for room200. There was not an iron in the room and the twin beds moved really easily.
I like the sea view that was offered as well as the good sleep guaranty
To be honest nothing .
Hotel was very good as was the breakfasts. Refund of last nights stay as it contravened the guarantee, well done Premier Hotels
No soap over the basin. Resolved after 4hrs told twice. Told on final morning of high pitch whine in bathroom. Told on final morning Air conditioning failed at 22.30 previous evening.
We had a lovely friendly greeting from the reception staff and a huge, homely and comfortable room with great views to the beach. We got what we would expect from a Premier Inn and wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
I felt the restaurant was under staffed but this may have been due to the inclement weather and more people eating in.The staff were doing their best but we did have to wait a long time for drinks and asked twice for water. Even under pressure the staff kept smiling.
Visiting granddaughter at uni and was pleasantly surprised by the building and decor of this Premier Inn hotel. Loved the Art Deco features. The room with a sea view was a nice touch too. I took my other granddaughter with me and she's 4 and she didn't want to go home... She loved it! Breakfast was in abundance and tasty, bed was comfy. Excellent proximity to shops and restaurants
Downside...At breakfast when my granddaughter took a plates to eat, the one underneath had residue of food...obviously after coming out of the plate washing the plates had not been checked - to ensure clean, that was a bit off-putting!!! Our bedroom was somewhat cold in the evening and the central heating wasn't working. There does need to be maintenance person around for times like this...
Location was brilliant Bar in hotel was a great place to relax Staff friendly and attentive Rooms / corridors Clean Fab decor Rooms and bathroom brilliant size Lots of place to hang / put away clothes
The lighting in the room is very poor Had no bath in our room
The room was big and I liked the fact I had sea view with a balcony.
The heating didn't work but we did get a electric heater.
The attentiveness off all the staff and the beautiful sea view .
Perhaps another person on the bar
staff very friendly and helpful, hotel clean and tidy
Position. Close to everything.
Friendliness, professionalism of staff. Room was huge! Booking in very easy, as was the parking.
Never enough tea/coffee etc in rooms but no problem when we asked for more.
Style of hotel was nice with the 1930's deco.
Water system made high pitch sounds when other guests used the system. It woke us up late at night and then again in the early morning. When we went to leave the next morning the lift to the connecting car park had been urinated in. It smelt awful and there was still a pool of it in there. Not surprisingly we opted to walk the 5 flights of stairs instead!
location is good.bar is nice. breakfast staff were good.
hot water not great. woken at 6.30am by person playing loud tv one day. woken by workman drilling at 7.00am following day. paid for wi fi but it was too slow to do anything. tv aligned badly to room so hard to see it from bed.
good size clean and functional room, bed very comfortably, very central with views of the sea if you get a front room
