Lovely clean room and bathroom

breakfast is rather unhealthy really, they should revamp the idea of all you can eat which is rather dated, and focus on quality produce.

My wife and 3 year old daughter needed to be in West Yorkshire early one Sunday morning so decided to spend the night before at the Premier Inn. The staff were all superb. The soft play at the restaurant was a fantastic bonus a made the whole adventure for my daughter even better. It's not the first time we've used Premier Inn and it won't be the last.

It was a cold March day. The heating was off but it took us 45 minutes to realise (having already messed about with the thermostat as per the instructions). Having said that, we could have picked up the phone and rung reception.

I liked the location for my needs.

I thought that there could be access to bar facilities at least up to midnight, as I went to party but could not drink as I was driving so had no drinks. Otherwise everything else was great.

The room was comfortable and warm.

The bath water was not very warm

Room was spotless, staff genuinely helpful and friendly but not in your face. Pub with great play area attached to hotel (£2 for play area). The buffet breakfast was excellent - varied and good quality. A previous reviewer complained that £8 was too costly for breakfast, but to be honest it was worth paying. Additionally, children under 16 eat free with an adult - this brings the price down considerably if you've got two children. Family rooms for four are a great idea. Finally, the hotel is off the main road, so road traffic is not a problem.

We wanted an anonymous hotel rather than a 'friendly host' hotel, since it was just a one-night stopover, so it was perfect for us. Some people might prefer a more intimate experience. The pub food (part of the hotel) was not imaginative and very average. If you can be bothered (we couldn't) you could do better further afield. If you've got kids don't miss the play area, though. Not exactly cheap at £75 incl breakfast, but we were happy to pay it because it lived up to what we wanted.

It suited our needs as a place to sleep and one of the managers tried her best to meet our needs but was controlled by the premier inn group.

The bed was very uncomfortable until extra quilt put onto mattress. It is not ready to have people stay for 7 nights as no laundry, no phone, no clock and only 30mins free Wi Fi. Eventually a manager offered to do our laundry as they had an issue with company that normally does laundry but decided not to do it as was worried could damage our clothes. OK for one night or two but not good for a week. Hot breakfast was dry and tasteless as left in open dishes under heat lamps for up to 2 hours.

Evening meal was not as ordered (steak) and cold Quality just passable? (It was rectified) Double room booked 1 set of towels provided. Room equipment not P.A.T Tested eg kettle & table lamp these are mandritry requirements the kettle lable was at least 1 year out of date May seem petty but visable is the gas/electric up to date on maintanance? Breakfast at Barnsley is cooked to order ( as we expected) some of it was cold and rotating in the dish did not work and the length of time on display is quesionable.

Room poor quolity for the price of £75 for one night booked 4th Nov. Well in advance,for one night 22nd.Dec.2012 No internal phone to reception ,never come across that before.

Cleanliness, no hassle, quiet, good breakfast, polite staff

Spotlessly clean with a choice of pillows. Our room was very spacious with self-controlled heating. Plenty of hot water. We paid for the full breakfast which was excellent with choices to suit all tastes. After checking in, the receptionist directed us to our room and commented that we would pass by a room where loud music was playing; she assured us that she was 'on the case' and it would soon stop. We infact had no noise nuisance at all.

We only had one bath towel in the room, although I'm sure that if we had called reception we could have had an extra one.
