The Black Boy is a 16th-century inn within Caernarfon's historic town walls. It has good real ales, hearty meals, and is an easy walk from the town centre and 13th-century castle.

Very large room
I couldn't ask for a better welcome. The rooms were very clean and large.
Good location and great staff , excellent value , good spacious room..plus a free long stay car park very close by...enjoyed our stay..
Free Parking 100 Yards away Friendly staff Location
Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, big, comfy rooms
There's no on site parking at the hotel. Charges for the wifi - ridiculous.
view of the harbour having breakfast. nice coastal location , within easy reach of the Mountains and Snowdonia. Walking distance from town and castle.
Room was not cleaned one day ,but was sorted as soon as we asked.
Excellent waterfront location. Dinner and Breakfast at Restaurant were very good. Hot breakfasts done to order, not left in warming trays. Easy walk to Caenarfon Castle and town. Beautiful area with friendly people. Room as a good size.
It is very poor that only 30 mins wifi is free. In my case, I stayed in Premier Inn at York the previous night, checking emails for a few minutes in the morning before leaving. On arrival at Caenarfon, I found my 30 minutes for the day was already expired due to my morning check. No problems I thought, I'll go to the desk and ask for another quota. After all, this was another booking in another country. No way, said the friendly reception staff, you will have to pay to get any time at all. In other words, I was penalised for staying in Premier Inns on consecutive nights. Not impressed.
Ideal accommodation, great food, atmosphere, staff, clean and comfortable. Very enjoyable experience.
Great location for town Friendly staff
Paying for wifi Lack of parking - few minutes walk to car
Building modern with clean well kept facilities. Easy to find and comfortable beds
Doesn't have its own car park but municipal car park close by, fortunately, doesn't demand that you go out to buy a ticket at 6 or 7 a m (unlike certain other Premier Inns that I will never use again). Stingy Wifi allocation. Restaurant of Brewers Fare type (though called something different) with similar menu of stodge and beefburger stuff
The hotel is in a great location near the marina and town walls, and provides the reliable quality room you expect from a Premier Inn. Very quiet, well appointed for all the things that matter (but not fancy extras), contemporary decor.
No view from the room but that was OK.
The frontline staff were very engaging, seemed happy, were friendly and helpful. As this chain basically has a blue print for all its hotels in terms of facilities and room layout ect, I see this as a positive. What I may lose on individuality of accommodation is more than made up by knowing I'll have a comfortable room with all the basics spot on. Again though, the staff were a credit to the business.
Location. Comfy beds.
staff realy niced and made us welcome brekfast
The breakfast was poor. Overcooked and dry. Get there before nine if you want anything. After that most of the trays have gone. Very pricey for what you can get. Parking is a good five mins walk away in public car park.
Nice comfortable bed, nice big clean room
Had to pay in full when I checked in, Breakfast was £8:75 each, then they told me that the breakfast room was in another building accross the road, when I went for breakfast I had to wait 20 minutes to be shown to a table, I ordered my full english and went to get a coffe where there were no cups, I was told they would get me one in 2 minutes, it took them 40 minutes! My breakfast took 20 minutes to arrive and it was cold. If you stay here, please avoid breakfast, It is an awful experience. There is a better breakfast 2 doors away for £3.00 with a hot drink and much better service. Overall it was a very bad service with staff who have no customer service training.
Location and room facilities
Bed and pillows were uncomfortable
Clean room, nice bed, nice reception staff.
No car park, had to walk five minutes to car and got drenched in rain. In winter must be awful. Room design confusing Wall mounted tv, paralle with bed, not in front, not enjoyable. Ground floor room, with Travelodge entrance outside, constant noise.
Was a really nice place to stay in and it's got really nice views about the place
The hotel was close by to all the well known places that we wanted to see, the food was well presented and value for money.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location location location - fantastic can't be beaten. Whole experience was very enjoyable and one that I will do a getting. 10 out of 10
No issues here you've got it all right!
All the staff were great. Warm welcome, great local knowledge and more than happy to help anyway they could. Wonderful location. Five minute walk to Caernarfon Castle. Breakfast was plentiful and sitting on the outside deck of the restaurant next door watching the sun go down is magic.
we had to leave.
Location was excellent within walking distance to caernafon town centre and the castle, fantastic views of the Menai straights, staff were really helpfull, nothing was too much trouble very welcoming and polite very enjoyable weekend
There was nothing we didn't like about our stay , the parking was limited as my husband is disabled , but we didn't fail to park in a disabled space
The harbour town
Our son left his toy cat in the room when we drove back home. Man we spoke to was exceptionally helpful and posted it on for us.
