Great Premier Inn and lovely comfy beds, as one would expect. Breakfast very good and nice dining area. Staff very pleasant.
Although location wasn't too bad, it was a good walk to the bus stop and then a 15 minute journey into town. Would have preferred a PI closer to town, to be honest. Breakfast serving area itself needed a re-think, got a bit cluttered and crowded.
Bed was really comfortable. Good location. Easy taxi ride to centre of Cambridge. (Approx £8 to £10 )
Wi Fi slow and cost extra.
Clean and comfortable and quiet so we enjoyed our stay - no complaints at all
Food was great. Evening meal and breakfast suited whole family.
Your receptionist was charming, and the young man Daniel who was helping at breakfast (8.30 am on Sunday 9th October) was simply lovely. He did his utmost to make sure we were comfortable and did his best to deal with the invasive canned pop music blaring through breakfast. Our room was clean and quiet. Bed (and pillow), lovely and comfortable (but a choice of a less hot duvet would have been good - I had to 'steal' the lighter one off the single bed in our room. . The bath was great - plenty of hot water. It was a great pleasure to watch TV in bed!
Sorry to say, several things: 1. Lighting in the bedrooms is dim and cold - not at all cosy or welcoming. 2. The lift floor was grubby gave the hotel the feel of a 1970s Slavic hostel. 3. 2 minor food annoyances: - the toast machine came AFTER the breakfast bar, so the cooked breakfast got cold as you waited for the bread to toast. The jam was unspeakably bad - would it really be uneconomical to put out cheap (but good) jam from Lidl or Aldi in bowls? 3. But by far the worst thing was the compulsory loud radio being broadcast in the dining room at breakfast. I do not believe people really enjoy loud music at 8am. When it was discreetly turned off/down, no-one objected. When we queried why it was on at all, we were told it was 'company policy' to have it - to which we replied that this meant we could not come back to Premier Inn again. In fact, dear Daniel did get it turned down - and we then could hear the very nice chatter of families eating breakfast (we didn't even mind the very loud German chap at the next table!) Seriously, this is a mistake on Premier Inn's part. Your hotel may be budget (hence so many families - which was lovely) but it does not need to be low-rent. Radio (2? Radio Cambs? ) blaring out at breakfast is more motorway service station than enjoyable, affordable hotel.
Staff were friendly and helpful
They guaranteed a good night sleep or money back, but we hardly slept but ended up paying £89.00++ which is a total rip off. The bed was rock hard and not comfortable at all. Just before we left we saw a notice saying that they are in the process of rolling out beds. In that case they shouldn't charge people as much as $ 89.00 for such poor, worn out mattresses, We had a terrible time as the little one hardly slept as well.
Big modern hotel, friendly staff, great facilities. Nice restaurant and bar, great breakfast!
Functional, parking (although I took the last place left)
Far from city center, basic breakfast
The room lighting
Restaurant Bed Breakfast
Aggressive cash in advance policies Lack of public transport Proximity to dual carriageway
Comfort of bed, cleanliness of room, whiteness of laundry and familiarity of everything (as we stay at Premier Inns regularly). Offer given to us for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Bravo Premier Inns.
No issues at all.
Nothing to dislike.
Room was to warm for a good nights sleep. Finding the hotel from the A14 was a bit tricky.
Good bus access to Cambridge and main road A14 for car trips to other places of interest such as National Trust properties. Good choice of breakfast and evening meals.
Nothing really, but the doors to room and in the corridors were very heavy to open and pass through.
Could not fault staff very helpful and friendly and acted upon request very promptly.
The air con had made the room very cold upon arrival but staff rectified this promptly although as the room warmed up I and others could smell a smoky room which was disappointing as this was a family room. I believe the air con was on so cold to remove the smoke smell.
Good service and good value for money breakfast
Had considerable trouble accessing the Hotel. The bed doona was too hot and you either cooked under it or froze outside.
Hello General Manager We recently spoke regarding my absolute delight after my visit at the Cambridge Premier Inn (Ring Fort Road) Hotel. As I explained, I did arrive at the hotel slightly agitated after a long journey and was annoyed at first after a slight ‘booking.com’ miscommunication regarding my room. However, after speaking with Kim I felt it would have been a crime to remain agitated due to her flawless communication skills and easy manner. I always expect exceedingly high standards regarding manners and communication on my travels and rarely walk away feeling completely satisfied due to my ‘exceptional high standards; however, meeting Kim was a positive shock to my system and a learning curve regarding my own skills! Even my 15 year old son was quietly impressed with Kim’s friendly helpful approach. He also reminded me to contact the general manager to pass on these comments. Kim is without doubt a great ambassador for Premier Inn (and anyone who is in the communication arena). I hope she is rewarded well for her efforts!
easy parking , perfect location , breakfasts, the bar, the room,
nothing really only someone leaving at 3.00 in the morning and waking me up but that can't be helped
Girl behind counter (Kim? very short hair with glasses) was OUTSTANDINGLY helpful and polite. Piotr who served us dinner was also very good.
Food was surprisingly good. Clean room and functional.
Staff were indifferent. Very busy site.
The hotel is in a residential neighbourhood, therefore very quiet, but at the same time close to the motorway and Cambridge city centre (5 minute drive)
The additional bed for my son was hard; the mattress was too thin
general standards high. friendly and efficient
a bit pricey for a budget hotel We paid £97 for room and two breakfasts
Especially Sabina, who was very kind for us (we even have made a picture with her). Give her our compliments please. The other ladies at the desk were very friendly too.
Plenty of parking helpful staff
3 miles to city centre
