In quaint gardens, The Victoria Hotel features traditional home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Canterbury center, and just under a mile from Canterbury Cathedral.
Score from 726 reviews Good
Just feet from Canterbury’s medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free Wi-Fi and free parking, a short walk from the center of the city.

Location perfect for our purpose. Staff most helpful. Very comfortable room. Would definitely stay again.
Very handy to bus station and the old part of town. Very helpful and unruffled staff in the face of queries.
location value for money comfortable and clean
would like to see healthier menu options and more than two tea bags
Very comfortable hotel in a great location...
Great location just outside the city walls. Shops, restaurants etc within easy reach. Clean, comfortable room with good facilities.
Can't think of anything.
- staff is very nice and helpful - cleanliness - quiet place - very comfortable bed
- breakfast is not included - no free WiFi (only for 30 minutes for a day) - window cannot be opened

Staff were fantastic. Comfortable beds. Good location. Great stuff.
Nothing really to report.
As the man says " It is a great place for a good nights sleep".
Cooked buffet breakfast was very disappointing, good choice but where was the crispy bacon? Limp bacon and hot plates that were not hot meant, unless it had just been cooked, a spoiled, tepid meal. Easily rectified.
The staff were wonderful and assisted with giving us a room close to reception.
location room layout bathroom
not enough towels or soap etc faulty hairdryer
It was so easy to get to,and easy to walk into the city centre.
The view of a building site.
no parking within hotel grounds plus £6 to park
Reception staff terrible, would not let us check in with paying by cash. Had to send son to bank to put money in account so could check in. Would of ended up with no where to stay. Never go back. Also evening meal not cooked properly.
They are charging extra for the Wifi.
Ease of booking, friendly staff, clean room
The restaurant didn't open until 6pm and as I had activities planned in the evening and I usually can't eat a late meal I was disappointed that I couldn't utilise the dinner and breakfast offer and had to use the pizza hut nearby.
Clean, spacious and comfortable
We had asked for a quiet room but we were delighted to discover that it also had fabulous view of the cathedral. Would love to stay there again.
Although right next to a busy road, this is arguably the quietest Premier Inn I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The staff were all very friendly and only too happy to help with things like directions and the ordering of taxis. Also had a great view of the cathedral from my room. A first-class stay and a first-class hotel.
Receptionist did not accept my booking amount as quoted by booking . Com and insisted I needed to pay more before I got my room I asked to speak to manager none available so Ipaid what she requested just to get my room.meet with manager later and he re imbursed me .It was not the best experience
Excellent location, very clean, new establishment or recently renovated. Best value for money.
The staff were fantastic, all smiling, polite and extremely helpful. The restaurant and food were excellent. The rooms clean, very comfortable and very quiet.
The rooms were spacious, clean and attractive. It was graduation week and the hotel was very busy, but the staff took that in their stride. In particular Catherine at reception could not have been more helpful or friendly, an excellent promoter of super client service - she made us feel very welcome. Also, Leah at breakfast gave us all the information we needed with a warm manner, even seeking me out at our table to check if I wanted to order poached eggs, which I did, which meant I did not even have to get up! I felt as though with both these members of staff, they were engaging with us as real people and not as just another person checking in or just another 'breakfast'. well done we were impressed.
Central location to Canterbury. Clean rooms, nice bar and restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful.
Lack of on-site parking facilities. Some of the details on the menu for the £22.99 meal, drink and breakfast were not availabile in the restaurant - said they had been told not to offer, for example, pint of Boddingtons or the sharing platter for starter. Also our mugs had not been washed in our room or tea/coffee replaced for our following day.
