The overall experience
In this day and age access to wi fi in a hotel should be as common as hot and cold water. If cafés, restaurants, shops etc can do it, so should Premier Inn.
Corridor decor is dated.
Beds were comfy, good breakfast.nice friendly staff.
For a twin room it was small, the overall impression was that the place was grubby. Had to ask for tea bags at the reception as there were only 2 in the room.
Handy, Comfy, lovely helpful staff. Good car parking.
Bit of an odour in the bedroom. Lovely burgers on offer but rather pricey for what you get. Late booking so paid more than usual for a Premier Inn
Bit out of the way Returned at 10:30 expecting to use the bar facilities but it was closed.
Stairway all the way to the room that was allocated to me.
This is our second time here and it was just as amazing as the first the staff are amazing so helpful and polite 10/10 the room was lovely and the bed amazing food was fantastic too! So thank you all at premier Inn juct 44 m6 carlisle
size of the room
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. Everything I'd expect from a hotel.
The rooms are very basic. Room was clean though. Our stay was let down by Ice cold showers In the morning. They confirmed the boiler was broke and we received a no argument refund on the stay. Liked the later check out compared to most hotels.
Very basic and the boiler was broke meaning cold showers!
The hotel is in a good location, there is a bar in the hotel if you didn't want to go far. The staff are very friendly.
The fan in the bathroom doesn't seem to switch off its a constant noise, and did wake us both me and my partner up.
A twin room with only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel.
I have stayed in some of the world's finest hotels but at the end of the day they are simply a place to sleep and stay. Most hotels fail in some of these areas but the humble Premier Inn at Carlisle did not. The location, the staff, the cleanliness, the value for money, the food all were outstanding.
The building needs updating. It looks like an underfunded secondary school.
We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a Wedding in Gretna. So glad we chose to stay here and not one of the more expensive hotels in Gretna. Would recommend to anyone. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and quiet. Great breakfast, with enough options to please all people in our party. Easy access to the M6 and the McDonalds round the corner was an added bonus.
Building looks very shabby from the outside and a lift would have been very helpful with the amount of luggage we had between us all, although a lovely member of staff saw us struggling and helped.
easy to get to, good food
nothing next to hotel or place to walk
Good receptionist staff very friendly.
Liked the power shower in bathroom- excellent. Also my wife thought quality and power of hair dryer was excellent. All staff were exemplary - very polite and helpful. Excellent breakfast - good range and choice.
Within in minutes you can leave the M6 and be in your room - a good clean sufficiently spacious room and helpful staff in Reception and in the Restaurant.
The staff were really helpful and friendly
The food was unexpectedly outstanding, and staff were exceptionally helpful. Ugly outdated building but top class facilities.
Exceptionally long corridors!
Bathroom & Room was not clean
proximity to M6
staff in resturant were dirty and over familar the man in charge by his attitude alone made a bad meal even worse.
Consistently, comfortable and clean! I look forward to my next welcoming visit!
No swimming pool.
Location is good, bar area is good, food is ok but not great.
I have stayed in carlisle at least once a month for the last 20 years and this is the old carlisle holiday inn. It is located by a busy road. Unfortunately all the windows are single glazed so of your room is on the road side of the hotel it is noisy. Breakfast is the usual premier inn standard and not great. I would stay again if I could not get anywhere else but only on the quiet side of the hotel.
No iron in the room
