Just south of highway M6, Premier Inn Carlisle Central North is just 1.5 miles north of central Carlisle. The hotel is a comfortable, affordable base with an on-site restaurant and free parking.
Score from 89 reviews Very good
Located in the center of Carlisle, the Crown and Mitre has been refurbished to retain its Edwardian traits. It has free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, a bar and an indoor swimming-pool.

Efficiency and helpfulness iof staff
Walk to the accommodation room
location next to motorway
Other options for food. We had to wait several hours for table in restaurant
Staff were very good, room comfortable and food good.
The property felt out dated. A freshen up would benefit the place. More in the corridors and rooms. The bar and resturant were fine.
Friendly breakfast restaurant staff
We were asked if we wanted newspaper without it being made clear it wasn't free and asked if we wanted wifi without being told we would get half hour free anyway so we paid £3 and we hardly spent any time in room so half hour would have been enough. Very basic room. We paid £70 + which seemed expensive for what it was.
Food was good
The hotel is a bit run down
Ideal place to stay for business or a night or two if in the area.
One hard seat for two people ????????????? After talking with reception the House keeper provided us with 2 Tub Chairs.
Just off the M6 in great location, all staff friendly and helpful. On site resturant and bar great as not a lot around the location. Premier Inn at its Best.
Had to book for the resturant which wasn't a problem, however a diner in front of us who hadn't had to wait 2 hours for a table and while we ate there was spare tables all the time!
Staff were on hand and couldn't do enough for you. Excellent customer service, comfortable stay and lovely breakfast and meals! Excellent value for price!
The overall experience
In this day and age access to wi fi in a hotel should be as common as hot and cold water. If cafés, restaurants, shops etc can do it, so should Premier Inn.
Corridor decor is dated.
Beds were comfy, good breakfast.nice friendly staff.
For a twin room it was small, the overall impression was that the place was grubby. Had to ask for tea bags at the reception as there were only 2 in the room.
Handy, Comfy, lovely helpful staff. Good car parking.
Bit of an odour in the bedroom. Lovely burgers on offer but rather pricey for what you get. Late booking so paid more than usual for a Premier Inn
Bit out of the way Returned at 10:30 expecting to use the bar facilities but it was closed.
Stairway all the way to the room that was allocated to me.
This is our second time here and it was just as amazing as the first the staff are amazing so helpful and polite 10/10 the room was lovely and the bed amazing food was fantastic too! So thank you all at premier Inn juct 44 m6 carlisle
size of the room
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. Everything I'd expect from a hotel.
The rooms are very basic. Room was clean though. Our stay was let down by Ice cold showers In the morning. They confirmed the boiler was broke and we received a no argument refund on the stay. Liked the later check out compared to most hotels.
Very basic and the boiler was broke meaning cold showers!
The hotel is in a good location, there is a bar in the hotel if you didn't want to go far. The staff are very friendly.
The fan in the bathroom doesn't seem to switch off its a constant noise, and did wake us both me and my partner up.
A twin room with only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel.
I have stayed in some of the world's finest hotels but at the end of the day they are simply a place to sleep and stay. Most hotels fail in some of these areas but the humble Premier Inn at Carlisle did not. The location, the staff, the cleanliness, the value for money, the food all were outstanding.
The building needs updating. It looks like an underfunded secondary school.
We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a Wedding in Gretna. So glad we chose to stay here and not one of the more expensive hotels in Gretna. Would recommend to anyone. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and quiet. Great breakfast, with enough options to please all people in our party. Easy access to the M6 and the McDonalds round the corner was an added bonus.
Building looks very shabby from the outside and a lift would have been very helpful with the amount of luggage we had between us all, although a lovely member of staff saw us struggling and helped.
easy to get to, good food
nothing next to hotel or place to walk
Good receptionist staff very friendly.
