Location good as we were attending a wedding a Chester Zoo. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. A nice touch was the provision of a sheet in case we needed to discard the quilt if it got too hot.

Not too keen on the adjoining pub although all the staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful we felt the pub looked very tired and in need of decorating. Breakfast was good and the evening meal we had was ok - cheap and cheerful.

In the 1970's Max Boyce used to sing a song about a secret factory in Wales where first-class Welsh rugby players were mass-produced. We feel that the proprietors of Premier Inns must have a similoar factory somewhere for the mass-production of first-class hotel staff. Having stayed in Premier Inns in Belfast, Hereford, Shrewsbury and Chester, we are constantly impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness and efficiency of their staff.

staff at premier in reception extremely helpful, Egerton arms however was appalling in evening waitress attitude and food

egerton arms next door food was extremely poor ,extremerly greasy under cooked fried elements onion rings soggy, southern fried chicken coating was rock hard and grey, wouldn't eat there again, and was expensive for what was served, (if it wasn't for having the children with us I would have complained , also for got the sauce for wifes steak when asked where it was waitress all but said we didn't order it until she checked , also ordered pudding for son waitress brought it ,told her it wasn't the one we ordered , waitress then said it was the shortbread choc pudding when obviously wasn't had to show her picture on the menu to prove it was the lemon meringue they had brought , then went and changed for a rushed made pudding with a massive void in the glass by this stage we just wanted to leave . would certainly stay in premier inn again but would not want to eat in adjoining pub if this is the food standard , very costly expensive and probably the worse meal we have ever eaten out. nb the following evening we drove out found a pub and had probably one of the best meals we have had out at approx. 1/2 to 2rds the cost, the Egerton should go to the bird in hand at Sutton to find out how it should be done , have to say Egertons food was appalling or maybe we just hit it wrong , I would be happy to discuss it further if an executive would like to contact me

The staff were friendly and helpful. Good location and amenities around the location.

Temperature of the rooms. Stayed 3 nights and 2 of the three struggled to cool down. Fans provided but the noise was a bit much.

My daughter was ill through the night, the night porter very kindly washed and dried her blanket and clothes for us (I had washed them in the bath) so we had spares for the next day. It made a stressful night, 200 miles from home more bearable.

Within walking distance of Chester city centre, bus service on the doorstep for town, Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks designer outlet centre and Liverpool city centre. Or Bache rail station across the road. Square deal pub and restaurant adjacent also local shops including large Morrisons store. Ample free parking

The bed was so uncomfortable, or at least one side of it was. We had to take it in turns to get some sleep. We did report this to reception on our departure but would have left after the first night had the location not been to our liking.

The staff were very friendly. The rooms were large and clean. Plenty of storage space and tea making facilities. Freep parking. Easy location and walking distance of town centre. Opposite large supermarket. Good breakfast when the kitchen is open and not flooded.

Hotel right on road - noisy even with a quiet room. The pub used for breakfast is really old, dirty and smells. Baby cot well used and worn. Bathrooms are very small in hotel room also no heating in them except from shower steam. Very noisy small heater in room -not enough to heat entire room switches off in the night. Noisy corridor. Bedroom door is not lockable from inside only a chain to secure door (although only openable from outside with key). Real mixed of guests - some unsavory.

The staff were friendly, especially the young woman at breakfast. The cooked breakfast was good. The location was perfect for an event at Queens School we were attending just down the road.

We had pre-booked a double room for two but towels were only provided for one person and we had to ask for more. Though we altered it the thermostat kept defaulting back to the original temperature and the room got too hot in the night.
