The staff was very helpful and seemed to genuinely care about our comfort. The hotel is a short walk from the old city and castle. The adjoining restaurant was great for breakfast and very convenient.
Easy quick checking in, efficient but very welcoming.
We came for one night because daughter was competing in a fencing competition at the Leisure Centre. Usual Premier Inn facilities, good sized beds, wi-fi.
Just a few small niggles. The curtains were a bit short and let the light in early in the morning. The Carvery next door was not up to the usual standard of Thyme at some of the other Premier Inns. Breakfast was ok, not great. Restaurant very tired looking. Staff very welcoming though :)
The breakfast and location.
The blanket was too thick for summer!
Bed very comfortable and staff friendly
Breakfast at the Beefeater, very slow service and waited 20minutes for breakfast to arrive. Had to ask for bread for toast, coffee, water and butter.
Robyn at front desk was amazing, very helpful.
very central hotel with a short walk to town centre, staff could not be any more helpful.
When we first saw the hotel and where it was located (near a busy road and roundabout) I was a bit concerned that it would be a nightmare but in fact I couldn't have been more wrong. Once in the room you couldn't hear the traffic and also we had air-con which was a huge bonus as it was very muggy when we stayed. The pub/restaurant right next door was fantastic as you can just have your meals and walk back to your room without worrying about driving (especially if you've had a few drinks of course). Also congratulations to all the staff who were all very polite, friendly and exceptionally helpful which made all the difference and made the stay even more pleasurable.
It's not really something they can do anything about really but the only niggle I had was noise from whoever was above us in the hotel when we stayed - stomping about on the floor until late and then again from really early in the morning but that is just people being inconsiderate - not the hotels fault.
The staff in the hotel we're very polite and friendly and happy to help
The restaurant where we had breakfast the staff were unfriendly it wasn't very clean you had to wait a long time to get served. Overall were not made to feel welcome
Perfect place to rest up after flight from USA for a night before going to harwich to get on cruise. Nice restaurant to grab a bite and the castle park is so lovely as is the quaint town.
We loved the friendly people at the desk who were so very helpful. The beds at the Premier Inn, Colchester were the most comfortable we have ever had. Keep up the great work.
This was a stopover on the way to Harwich. We enjoyed the fact that all facilities, ie restaurant were on site. The prices were reasonable and the food standard was high.
Convenient for everything we wanted to do. Staff helpful, polite and friendly
T times it is a very busy road
Easy access to train station, comfortable beds, great food in the restaurant.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good room and facilities for business stay over.
Comfortable bed, air conditioning, immaculately clean, great staff
All the staff without exception were friendly, helpful and pleasant. As we arrived by train and used the station every day of our stay, the location of the hotel (less than 10 mins walk away) was important.
Had a very good night sleep. And the rooms were quite
Staff were so helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Made to feel so welcome.
Clean , comfortable room which was practically designed
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was emaculately clean, big and so comfortable. At £71 a night could not complain about our experience at the hotel.
If the food at The Beefeater that is attached to this particular Premier Inn was a bit cheaper we would have chosen to eat there. However, town was not far away so we found cheaper places to eat with the same sort of food. Also it would have been better to have an actual breakfast buffet that we could help ourselves to rather than telling the waitress how many of each item we wanted.
Slept really well
No air, stuffy, wet floor shower room floor looked dirty, no shelf to house toiletries when showering
