What can I say other than our stay at the hotel was far better than we ever expected. We both enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Thanks to all the staff.
We were made very welcome.any request that we asked was fulfilled to our satisfaction. Everything was perfect
Location really good. Few minutes walk into centre of Durham. Obviously because of the location we knew it would be noisy but that's not the fault of the hotel andthat's why I haven't put this comment in the other box. Good to have air conditioning in the room because for some reason hotels are always hot!
Room over warm. Windows don't open.
were it was situaited
Once you were in, the rooms were very quiet. Location was very convenient for the centre of Durham.
Finding the car park was impossible until we'd visited the hotel. As usual the bedrooms were too hot despite the air-con. Not as bad as some though.
The room was huge and very comfortable (I was in a disabled access room despite not being disabled and not requesting this) Breakfast was great and good value for money
It was very noisy despite being in a quiet zone. Noise from outside spilled through and I could hear everything from the surrounding rooms. Not great when I was trying to get a good nights sleep before the Great North Run! Extremely expensive!
No cheese for breakfast. :-)
Very friendly staff and super location.
Parking next to the hotel, rates were reasonable and location was good.
The hotel was difficult to find. The bed was hard which was unusual for a premier inn.
It was very friendly and clea also handy for town and sightseeing We used it to have a family trip to Beamish Museum which was also excellent
Comfortable room Nice lounge bar area Excellent location Premier Inn did prove its philosophy of comfy sleep over
Limited Wi-Fi (30 min free only) which seemed not fair for the price of 100 quid per night. No telephone in the room. Relatives stayed in another room so I wanted to communicate to them through internal phone.
Locality of the city good eating places .
Don't like the parking facilities as you have to pay for parking in the multi-storey close by .
Central location easy access to the city Close to river and walkway Durham is a beautiful city, friendly people, steeped in history, fantastic buildings Ie Cathedral which are free to visit and a Bell Tower with 300 plus steps to climb and feel a sense of achievement. Good music to listen to on the bridge or in the square We have just scratched the surface and need to return for more if the feel good factor found in Durham and Northhumbria
What's not to love
Reception staff were friendly and well organised
Breakfast, hash browns tasted as if they'd been deep fried, fried eggs could have bounced so runnery! Bacon fatty and anemic looking, coffee machine broke and staff member said "well I'm not bothered I don't drink it"
Very easy to get into city by foot and plenty of eating places just around the corner. The food was good in premier but a little bit expensive .
The dustbin men coming around at 6o,clock every morning .
Helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was good quality and lots of choice.
Situated near bars on the waterside so a bit noisy, but did not disturb my sleep.
Great location. Clean and beds very comfortable x
The staff were so pleasant
We enjoyed how close it was to the city centre and near to restaurants. The bathroom was bigger than expected.
We found the bed quite hard and uncomfortable.
Seeing our Grandson and a lovely place to visit
very comfortable bed very convenient location
no phone in room had to pay for parking car wifi not free
having to pay for breakfast (separately, in the dining rm, where although the setting is pleasant, unfortunately music is played), before you've eaten anything was an unwelcome surprise, lacking in dignity, trust or usual etiquette. Having to use air conditioning (not being able to open windows) was also a negative
We paid £87 per room without breakfast (we booked 4 rooms in total) we thought you were overpriced and overrated, also the bar should be open to guests later than 12.00pm
