Score from 78 reviews Fabulous
Room smelt of smoke on arrival and noisy people in next rooms from a hen party in family room section. Building work going on did not reflect in the price.
Check out time at 2:00 pm
Every thing was of a high standard will be staying here again when we return to Durham thank you
Nothing to complain about
Comfortable and decent breakfast. Location on the outskirts of town in a shopping precinct. Must have a car -for which parking is free.
Not a place to hang around. You get there, check in and only return to sleep. Not as good value as other Premier Inns.
Price, car park, friendly atmosphere, food available nearby, cosy room.
Location....not near enough Durham city to walk, so you needed the car to go anywhere. On the other hand, it was near roundabout so easy to go places.
Good value and ok beds
No room to walk in room as beds took all the space. 'Quad room' is a normal room but more beds stuffed in to it. Wifi is charged and hard to connect to
Receptionist tried very hard to make everything right.
Too much airborne dust due to building work being carried out of which we were not aware or prewarned. I subsequently suffered an asthma attack. Having previously stayed at this location several times before we were very disappointed. Overall appearance very shabby. Totally dissatisfied with stay. Had we been made aware of building work we would have chosen alternative location. Bath dirty, full of long dark hairs!!
Comfortable family room
Location friendly and accommodating staff quiet
The disabled room did not have a walk in shower, although speaking to staff i think the room is due to be refurnished, so i assume this will be addressed then. the location of the disabled room was a good distance from reception.
Very helpful staff.
As a smoker having to go outside and being unable to get back into the hotel after 11.o,clock at night with no one at tbe reception desk.
The absence of any noise during our stay, we haven't even heard the noise of our steps.
The absence (as usually in England) of the bidet. In the sink both cold and hot water taps were, but the water wasn't miscible at all: from a tap went out boiling water, and from the other one went out cold water.
The. Restaurant was rexcellent.
The location was poor, also the. Room was not very. Warm. No knowing the area at all,we. Had difficulty. In finding. THE Premier Inn.
Could do with an alternative to duvets as I always get v. hot in bed. Conversely the room took a long time to heat up.
Easy reach of Durham
Noisy people above us stamping around at midnight
Very good access to university halls (our trip was to visit our son). Comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. We requested a quiet room and that was what we got. The breakfast option was also great with good restaurant service and excellent food. We will definitely visit this hotel again.
Nothing. Not able to find a single fault.
The staff really were excellent, especially the receptionist...friendly, helpful, and thoroughly professiona! Restaurant staff were also brilliant. Well done..!!
The staff were execellent with people disablity and bar staff as is one should get top mark
The no short from shopping centre you have go long way round via main road if You are walking
Although very busy the staff were more than helpful and willing to go out of their way to make a comfortable stay. Ultra clean( I even saw a lady cleaning the skirting boards with a toothbrush !) good location and free parking.
Building work, although did not interfere with stay.
Very hard to find with sat nav. Traffic awful around Inn. Big notice on our window saying we couldnt open it so dont force it x it was a very uncomfortable night with children and no air. Room 21. We had booked for two nights but left after one night because of this.
Bad service, the room only had 3 beds even though we're a family of 4. The room was filthy. And it was very noisy room was freezing too!
It was easy to find. The restaurant was very good.
Staff were lovely, slept well.
Part of the car park is currently a building site was a bit muddy around however didn't affect stay.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is situated within easy reach of main roads, Durham city centre, Beamish Museum, Angel of the North, Gateshead/Newcastle Quays and towns. Brewers Fayre restaurant, offering wide selection of meals, located within the same complex as the hotel. Very comfortable, spacious room.
The only problem, which has nothing to do with the hotel, is that the satnav recognises the postcode as being in the middle of the local shopping centre.
bed was comfortable, room was clean.
1.No free Wi-Fi access. 2.Could hear loud snoring from adjacent room (sound proofing issues). 3.Postcode given for hotel is wrong, 4.No lift access from lobby. 5.Inadequate car parking spaces.
