    location, staff and cleanliness.

Unlike the premier in Newcastle quayside which has a superb restaurant Durham uses the Brewers restaurant which although satisfactory for breakfast, was disappointing for evening meals.

    The Premier Inn

The Reasturant next door where we gave up waiting for a cooked breakfast after an hour, twice. Pre paid waste of money until you have all day doing nothing.

Clean, comfortable bed, good location for driving into Durham, excellent value

Generic feel to the place -- quite large, but to be expected in a budget lodging.

Nice quiet hotel, out of the town centre but easily accessible. Very well located for several local attractions - we stayed here specifically for a visit to Beamish Museum. Was initially a little unsure of the dining arrangements with the Brewers Fayre next door, but shouldn't have been - worked very well!

The hotel was in a good location to be just outside of Durham. We were allocated the disabled room even though it was not requested. Unfortunately it did smell like a room from a care home but it was clean. We were only supplied with 2 sachets of tea, coffee, milk and sugar...there was no decaf which is available in all hotels now..and had to go back and request some. The breakfast is excellent but a little on the expensive if all you want is a bowl of cereal.

Service, size of room, good sized towels and plenty of them in a family room. Good bedding and the bathroom had a good shower.

The food available in the Brewers Fayre wasn't great and the area didn't have a great atmosphere.

    Plenty of parking.

Noisy rooms; All we heard all night was the creaking of the floor above us as people moved around. No aircon. Bed was too hard.

    location and cleanliness

I couldn't get into my room until 11.00 at night as the check inn couldn't be done due to system breaking down and the receptionist was unable to check me in ! in any other way. I had dinner in Durham as I couldn't get into my room until my return at 11.00. The food in the Dunelm ridge is adequate but mediocre and consists of what appears to be processed food and not freshly made on the premises.
