Confident helpful staff were flexible to our requirements. Nothing; if you are asking for improvements, the carpet in room no 6 could do with replacing, but everything works and is clean and comfortable.

When we arrived our room only had a bed for us and not our child. It was very basic, no toiletries in the bathroom and the bed was awful. We fell into the middle where the mattress was so poor and only had one pillow that was so lumpy! Hence we had a terrible nights sleep.

Location is very close to the a1. Good for commuting 1. Hotels postcode does not match its exact location. 2. Badly signposted from the entrance to the service station. 3. I was allocated a disabled twin room after booking a double room; then, watched a VERY elderly woman walk all the way to the end of the corridoor to her room. 4. Room was generally poor. 5. Window seal was poor letting in lots of road noise.

Cheerful & polite staff even at midnight when I arrived! Beds were comfortable & room was fine for one night with everything I might need ... even extra coffee stuff in reception (...even expensive hotels can be tight on the milk side of things!!) The rooms were not that clean ... specifically the carpets were dirty and didn't encourage walking around in bare feet! The hotel might also want to think about housing female visitors travelling on their own on the second floor (not the ground floor ... or in a room with an adjoining room door!) ... this would have made me feel much safer during my stay.

Cheap and available. Free wifi though had to register for marketing to get it... dont know how much I will regret that yet! Worn out looking room, bedside table surface was literally peeling off. The previous two nights we were at the Bannatyne nearby at the same price - Bannatyne much better value

Value for money, clean and basic which is all we wanted. A little noise from the motorway but not enough to disturb us. Receptionist, young lad, was excellent. Booked our taxi and suggested where to eat in town etc. Nowhere to eat in the hotel. The service station next door was typical motorway prices. It was a little further from the town centre in a taxi than the website says it is. £11 to get to Durham and £13 return after 11pm.

Very helpful staff, although outside city very easy to get in only one junction from Durham and there was a park and ride close by, easy to find way back to hotel, would stay again just a nice place to stay very quiet, did have problems getting mobile signal and you are stuck for choice for food, but the service station is open 24 hours so as long as you do not mind paying their prices you will be ok

The people at reception were very helpful; changed the room for me and gave me one on the less noisy side. free internet was a main incentive; room was spacious; price was good. location - too far from Durham, so too much money spent on taxi, since there seemed not to be public transportation (if there is, it should be advertized); the location so close to the freeway resulted in noisy room (but the receptionist kindly changed the room for us, which made it less noisy, but still noisy) Maybe it was because of the last minute request, but the bathroom's toilet was dirty when I arrived; there was also a rag left on the floor the next day after cleaning; overall it gave an impression of superficial and possibly unhealthy cleaning. I do not know if that reflects a pattern or an unfortunate circumstance the lamps by the bed were set in a way that one could not read if the other needed to sleep (both lamps in the centers of the beds, and both tuning on with the same switch and glaring into people eyes)
