Excellent,

“ Gina, the receptionist on duty Friday evening, 5 April 2013, was phenominal. She should be highly commended for her excellent representation of the Premier Inn. My daughter lost her handbag, and Gina spent hours attempting to locate someone within the train systems that could locate it. ”

We have stayed at this Premier Inn before and are pleased that it has maintained it's standards. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A good nights sleep, the beds are so comfortable! The Brewer Fayre Pub next door provided excellent food for meals and breakfast. We would definitely come again and recommend you to our friends.Thank you. N/A

Gina, the receptionist on duty Friday evening, 5 April 2013, was phenominal. She should be highly commended for her excellent representation of the Premier Inn. My daughter lost her handbag, and Gina spent hours attempting to locate someone within the train systems that could locate it. She provided us with every possible phone number that we could continue our attempt to locate the handbag. For that alone, I would return to the Premier Inn and highly recommend it to other travelers. Whatever Gina is paid is not nearly enough for all the effort she made to make our stay a pleasure after such a tragedy! Victoria Park Restaurant across the way, that appears to be associated with the inn, had dirty dishes both times we ate breakfast there.

The Friendly and helpfull staff. Hotel in good area with plenty of facilities near. As I am formerly from Ebbw Vale I have seen a lot of changes, for the better and I know there are plently of interesting places to visit whether, mountains, canals cities and of course the coast. connecting door but would be fine if occupied by same family members.

As ever, the air handling (heating) fans twittering all night or freeze. Premier are not alone using this type of heating/aircon. But it is a bad idea if you want to sleep.

Exceptionally clean room, bathroom and bed-linen. Helpful receptionist when booking in. Excellent breakfast a neighbouring Brewers Fayre, evening meal ok Booked on-line via Booking.com - gave details as 1 adult + 2 children (ages 12 & 13). Booked family room for 4. Confirmation email only mentioned single occupancy so rang Booking.com who rang the Ebbw Vale Premier Inn and confirmed booking should be for 1 + 2. Got to hotel, room not prepared for 3 occupancy, then no single duvet available and daughter had very hot night with double duvet. No phone in room to contact reception. Ordered taxi in morning for 10:30, for 11am appointment - asked for taxi office to be called 3 times, eventually picked up by 2nd taxi firm at 10:57.

I chose this hotel because it is just a few minutes walk from Ebbw Vale Parkway station, has the standards of a national hotel chain, and is value for money. I asked for a quiet room when making my booking and was pleased to find on arrival that this had been taken care of by the member of staff allocating rooms, who put me at the end of a long corridor on the top floor. It was blissfully quiet and had a nice view of the surrounding hills. The hotel is fairly new so the room and bathroom were in excellent condition. The double glazing kept out most of the traffic noise from the road nearby. The TV offered lots of channels but I could have wished for a slightly more comfortable armchair from which to watch it and read my newspaper and book. I think the main disadvantage of this hotel is that it is necessary to leave the hotel and cross the approach road to the Brewer's Fare restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Fortunately it was not raining but as it was quite chilly I had to put on a sweater to cross from the warm hotel to the overheated restaurant. I haven't used a Brewer's Fare before, so the system of going to the counter to order and pay for your food and drink needed a bit of explaining. After that, it was waitress service and the staff were good - cheerful and helpful. The food however seemed very 1960s - prawn cocktail, steak, chips and peas - only the Black Forest cherry cake was missing. There were other items on the menu but it was fairly limited. It was also very noisy with children running round and generally making a racket. There was also a wedding party in the adjacent "pub" area. It was obviously catering for a far wider clientele than just the hotel guests. It was not a relaxing dinner. Breakfast was self-service and was fine.

It was clean, staff were very helpful, the rooms were adequate and clean. I would have appreciated a facecloth or flannel as people in the UK call them, I should have remembered from my visit last year, because I went out and bought one. The other thing I thought might be helpful to visitors would be telephones in the rooms, maybe this is because in the US and Canada they are standard. The restaurant staff were very friendly and the service was very good. The lack of face clothes in the bathroom and telephones in the rooms.
