The staff was nice and helpful. It was also quiet in the room. The hotel entrance is a long walk to get to. The phone in our room didn't work. The carpet is a bit dated.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Quiet. Children ate free at breakfast. Staff friendly. Being told at 1030pm that I could not walk through the bar to our room as I had children with me! Instead I would have to walk around the back of the hotel and through the car park in the dark!

The receptionist (Sam) was excellent; an exemplar of how customer service should be. The room was extremely well decorated and clean. The domestic we met on our way out was also customer focused, cheerful and made time to chat. There was a slight problem with the bathroom ventaxia, but this cured itself. Sam (receptionist) was keen to investigate, but we declined her offer. One member of the bar staff in the Beefeater could benefit from lessons from Sam as to how to deal with customers.

Staff & comfortable bed. Very very cold bathroom with no heating and no way of drying towels. Too cold to use the bath. if you used towels in the evening they were still wet the next day.

Woman on reception was fab (sorry i dont rmbr her name) as was waitress in restaurant (Isla). Location was a little further out than I had planned but buses are great, and location made it quieter which was nice. Leisure facilities would have been lovely :-)

Our room had a good size and quiet, beds were very comfortable. Reception staff friendly ad helpful. Location - far from Edinburgh city centre. No ambiance what so ever anywhere in the hotel. Free WiFi in the Beefeater Pub below the hotel, but poor connection. Reception area looked tired.

While not in the city itself, the hotel represented a good compromise between saving some money on the room and spending a little time on the bus. We were close enough to get in and out via the bus and the breakfast staff were attentive, helpful, and very nice. We're a family of vegetarians and we found the breakfast selection very good.

Staff friendly. Decent (large) car park - in Edinburgh this matters! Not too far from centre. It was fairly warm outside (around 21-22degrees) but room was consistently above 25 degrees according to the room sat. The guidance to leave the curtains shut to minimise solar gain reduced air flow. At night, they had to reman closed because of the exterior lighting, again restricting airflow. The is a (safety?) chain limiting opening of the single Window pane to a few degrees. Asked if they could offer anything to help and we were offered sheets. We were already sleeping outside the bedding! Beyond that, and graunching my big toe on the evil door stop on the bathroom floor, perfectly reasonable for the money. It will be fine in cooler weather.

This hotel is more for business travellers. For holidaymakers, I would not recommend this hotel. The location is quite far from Edinburgh centre, the hotel staff are not very friendly, it is too business like & business minded. The rooms are not that great. The hotel is too business minded & it is not an ideal hotel for holiday makes.

The hotel room was pleasant, it would have benefitted from an armchair in the room. The hotel location was excellent for our trip. The staff were friendly and helpful. There wasn't anything we didn't like about the hotel.

Can't say enough for the Reception staff who were gracious and helpful at every occasion. They helped us get Theater tickets, understand bus routes and called a taxi when needed. The location is very convenient to a main bus route to city center, parking easy, and connected restaurant very satisfactory including special priced early evening dinner menu. Don't miss "Taste of Scotland" Dinner theater an 8 pound taxi ride away.
