This comfortable Premier Inn is convenient for getting to Haydock Racecourse, highway M6, and local train stations. It is about 10 miles from Manchester's Trafford Centre. Premier Inn Haydock Park (Wigan South) is off highway A580, a major road going to Manchester and Liverpool. It is next to the Bayhorse restaurant, where you can have reasonably-priced meals, and has free parking. Some rooms at Premier Inn can take 2 adults and up to 2 children (under 16 years). The 2 children also get a free full breakfast when accompanied by an adult eating a full breakfast. The full all-you-can-eat breakfast has the expected cooked items, including vegetarian sausages, as well as a large continental selection. Hotel Rooms: 28, Hotel Chain: Premier Inn.

Comfortable bed, good sized room, and clean modern bathroom. The pub next door had a friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff which as a solo female traveller was much appreciated. The location is very convenient for Haydock Races but otherwise there was not much to recommend in the immediate area.

The staff, both in the hotel and the adjoining pub were superb. The staff in the pub and at breakfast in particular were lovely and very helpful. They all deserve a pay rise. Breakfast is of very poor quality and overpriced. The first night was virtually sleepless because of constant disturbance caused by door just outside our room and noisy, pig ignorant, chav guests who shouted and generally acted like morons in the corridors.

All staff were very pleasant and helpful. We stayed at this hotel because we were attending a christening at the nearby church - location was good for purpose. The only thing that disappointed us in the room was the foisty smell in the bathroom. This probably due to the age of the facilities. Didn't create a problem though as the bathroom was clean. Certainly didn't warrant a complaint.

I chose it for location - close to evening event I was attending at Haydock Park Racecourse/Conference. The car park is close to the entrance to the Inn which is very convenient. The light switch for the two lights over the wash basin has been blanked off, which was a little inconvenient.
