The hotel is superbly located, just off junction 23 of the M6 motorway, next to Haydock Park Racecourse, and serves as a gateway to the entire North West region.
Score from 224 reviews Very good
Friendliness of the customers in the eating/bar food service was good and food generally was good. My overall feeling is that a makeover would be in order and particularly windows in bedrooms being updated along with heating, if updated and location of accommodation be worth paying slightly extra.
Cold from condensation on windows also noise from traffic due to single glazed windows.
The location for haydock park racing is excellent, have stayed before and will most definitely return.
This hotel is in an excellent position for Haydock racecourse. Room very good, breakfast fair but like previous comments stated the Wi - Fi is rubbish
Everything was done to make our stay comfortable staff were polite and friendly couldn't fault anything
Nothing to dislike
Manager and Staff made us Very Welcome. Well DONE.
Excellent food, very quiet and plenty of parking available! Very helpfu staff as we travelled with 5 month old baby!
Bathroom walls needs a bit better cleaning or repainting, other than that spot on! Stayed in room 10!
Asked twice for an invoice but still not received !!!!
The room was excellent and the reception staff where very good too.
On the third night the food was disgusting. This was a disapointment as the 2 previous evenings the food was excellent!
We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids. After travelling from Australia we were shown our room which had 2 beds just thrown on the floor (just a mattress). The beds were only 3/4 size and not big enough for our eldest child. One of the beds was half under a table and the head of the mattress was up against an electric heater (very dangerous)
Fire alarm going off!!! Noisy boiler next to room 14.
Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The restaurant provided a good range of food of good quality and price.
I honestly can't say there was anything that I did not like and I will stay again and recommend the Bay Horse to anyone.
bathroom was a bit dirty. and t.v. was abit loose on wall
Size of the bed and location to Manchester and Liverpool
Nothing to speak off comes to mind
Nice comfy beds Close to where I needed to be
The noise at night is terrible can hear thumping all night
The staff were very helpful and very efficient, above all the bay horse was very good value, and the food was excellent.
I did however notice suspicious behaviour in the darker corners of the car park, with little parcels being passed between by young people from car to car.
only went for 1 night with my boyfriend and was really happy with the stay! Absolutely perfect for a couple of nights away definitely be returning, a major recommend from us!!
The place was all round really good for the value. Rooms were really clean. staff were nice. the pub next door was really good and food was nice. There was a shop right next door aswell and only 2 mins away from m6 which was handy.
The wifi up the stairs in the room was very poor i couldn't use it. It was cloud wifi so had to sign in. Downstairs in pub etc it worked ok. The wall socket for charging my phone wasn't next to the bed which was a bit annoying but it wasn't really a problem.
A friendly atmosphere amongst staff. WiFi service was excellent.
Some issues with buying drinks and food at the bar and asking for them to be added to my bill.
Location great, staff friendly and food in restaurant well cooked and good value.
Hallway and stair carpet very dirty made me worry about cleanliness of the rooms but rooms were fine
The receptionist was really lovely and made me feel really welcome.
Friendly staff Spacious rooms Good food
Comfortable rooms, very clean, lovely fluffy white towels.Had a very good meal in the restaraunt and would definitely stay in the Bay Horse Good Night Inns again.
Location to family we were visiting
Guests letting doors slam shut, wifi advertised as free and available, however we couldn't get online due to a complicated method of getting online.
The shower was poor, there was no toilet paper in the room and the tv didn't work in room 22 so we had to be moved. At breakfast there was no fruit as advertised
it was ideal because i was working in area
