Beds were rock hard two nights of bad sleep
Location and having to use a multi-storey car park which also had very tight turns from one level to another. Long wait for food in the restaurant.
Comforatable spacious room with a pleasant view of the river and the ducks!
Really friendly staff and excellent location
Very warm in the rooms
We stayed here with a group of family members whilst visiting family. The rooms were lovely and spacious with a heater and cooler which came in handy. The staff were excellent and friendly. The bar was also reasonable prices so perfect for a drink before going out. The rooms were so clean, could not fault them one bit. The location is excellent, right in the centre of town. Overall 10/10 for our stay and would definitely stay again. :-)
Personally I did not like the softness of the bed, but it would not prevent me from staying again, 4 out of the 5 people who stayed with us said they loved the beds! I guess it is just personal preference. They are comfy but I personally prefer a firmer mattress. That's the only thing I can pick up on, and still that is really being picky!
The rooms where clean and tidy
Air con was not working the room was far to hot to get a good nights rest
The staff were helpful and extremely welcoming on arrival. The room was perfectly adequate and well laid out. It was very busy time due to it being half term week however we did not have to wait too long to be seated and eat. The food at breakfast did run out at times, however it wasn't a problem and did not take too long to be refilled. The accommodation and restaurant food in general were all very good value for money and with no compromises to the excellent service. Our stay at the Hemel Hempstead Premier Inn acted as a perfect base for our London trip, which helped make it a big success. If and when we visit London again we will definitely make it our first choice. Thank you!
Only real criticism was the bed, which was a bit on the firm side!
Unbearably hot. Dangerously so for our baby and we were all unable to sleep. Also lumpy mattress which made huge noises everytime u moved an inch in bed! Aweful. Never had a problem with premier inns untill this one....
Staff made booking in etc so easy and friendly. Room was very clean and facilities were great in there. Staff were very apologetic over breakfast as was busy but were clearly understaffed.
Breakfast on Sunday Morning was a nightmare, food coming out in bits and pieces, an hour waiting for sausages. Also people were being sat at big tables with 2 or 3 people, yet us as a family of 4 had to sit on 2 separate tables
Close to shops and restaurants Good selection at breakfast Poster with busy times in restaurant displayed
Arriving just after busy breakfast period and waiting for food to be restocked; but it was fresh and hot!
When we managed to get seated for breakfast the food was good.
The room smelt of cigarettes. Only had 1 hand towel and was told this was hotel policy! Only disabled room left when booking. Didn't mind the low bed just thought it would have been kingsize and not double. Bar shut for over 30 minutes on Friday night as short staffed in restaurant. Restaurant too small for the number of rooms in the hotel. Had to queue for 25 minutes to get table even though there were empty tables that had not been cleared. Not enough staff working. After queuing for table then had to queue over 10 minutes for food to be restocked. Half term hols and hotel was packed. All staff were young with not enough experience to cope with all the problems in the restaurant and bar.
Staff helpfulness and friendliness Facilities and location
Bar service was a bit slow both nights but friendly
Monday Morning Breakfast was made to order. Room was far too hot and Cooling far too noisy. We stayed in Premier Newton Abbot same week. The bed in Newton was far more comfortable.
Car parking once we found it.
Excellent location, close to shops, restaurants and transport links. Clean, modern with good bar and restaurant. Good value for money. All staff extremely friendly and helpful.
It was very peaceful there I had been traveling for 3 weeks finally got some good sleep at this hotel and Sofie helped me tremendously she went way out of her way to give me excellent customer service
I don't like that the phone do not work and they give taxi cab drivers your phone number
Comfy bed Shower Room space
It was quite hot in room even with air conditioning on difficult to cool room
loved the room loved the tea making facillities loved the staff got extra milks no problem loved their attitude they were very helpful and pleasant.
there was nothing not to like we were well looked after by lovely people
The staff were lovely and happy to help with everything. The hotel itself is clean and tidy. The atmosphere is friendly and calm. If i ever need to visit Hemel again i will definately chose to stay there. Highly recommend :)
It was quite hot (not really the hotels fault) and room wasnt massive.
the room was very spacious. close to a lot of shops and nice restraunts. very clean, the staff were very helpfull. parking is ok, a short walk from the hotel but it secure and free so cant complain
constantly hot the dated air con machines only go down to 18 degrees which is bareable but noticeable
Location of the hotel was second to non. The restaurant was excellent and the main customer areas were clean and well presented.
We stayed in room 301, couldn't see anything out the window due to it being so dirty and the seal broken on the double glazing with caused it to steam up. We could just make out the canal through the window which was a shame as it would of been an excellent view otherwise. The room was so hot, even the air con unit, that sounded like a car running didn't cool it down.
The staff were really friendly and helpfully. The location was perfect for what was needed for the trip, thou the parking wasn't close by. Had to get directions at check-in. The bar was a nice area to sit and was fairly stocked well.
The main double bed was ok but the single beds in the room were very uncomfortable. The were very worn and you could feel the springs. The single payment for breakfast seemed over priced especially if you only wanted toast and a cup of tea. There wasn't an option to pay for what you ate! Also the main meals weren't value for money. And the ironing boards have also seen better days.
the hotel was good, food is great.
the town. there is nothing to do in Hemel, the shops are closed at 5pm, no good places to go out in the evening.
Great breakfast and nice clean hotel room. All you need and great value for money.
Fixtures and fittings were a bit worse for wear, such as coat hooks but really nothing to complain about.
very nice room.. breakfast was a good deal too
having to pay for wifi...so I didn't. should be included as business clients are surely who you wish to attract.
