Free wifi... A good bath.
Card reader was broken and staff expected cash up front, suggested we go to the cash machine at the pub opposite, which was out of order. Then gave us the wrong room... Then when we had the right room, the double bed was just two beds pushed together. Also walls really are paper thin.
Not much facilities, foul smell in bathroom, staff weren't helpful.
Although not a bad experience I only had one towel in a twin room and the bathroom was a little dirty
Comfortable and clean. Decent value for money.
Lights went out and I was plunged into darkness due to an electrical issue. Walls also quite thin and I could hear everything in the next room.
Easy to get in to city centre in taxi costs £10
N/A I love this hotel.
Everything was ok thumbs up
The majority of staff are wonderful, clean tidy and good location with parking. Feel safe. The lady who has acting lessons that works on reception is amazing!
The male staff that are on in the evening aren't particularly great with customer service.
Perfect location for needs and the pub next door had great food and drink at great prices
You pay extra for breakfast which is taken in the Wilton Arms but it was ok.
Room was nice and spacey
Too far away from city centre
the whole experience - from arriving being given room 3 that obv hadnt been prepared and smelt too - changed then to room 1 right near the reception main door into the rooms a disabled access room??? had booked a double room over a month ago and plenty of rooms available then. bed was broken and dipped in middle - no mirror - only one socket in room pillows and mattress uncomfortable too - didnt sleep at all well due to noise of people coming back into hotel at all hours - not happy when told receptionist the following morning - nothing given by way of apology or anything.
Own parking Quiet location Close to motorway, a good stop over for someone on the move Neat and roomy Huge bed
Carpet smelt of dampness, needs to be aired. Wasn't too bad though, got used to it in a few seconds. Could hear some noise from doors opening and closing outside the room. Needs to be more sound proof
Hotel situated back from the busy main road so no noise problems.
Room was not warm enough and I could not get the thermostat to stay above 18 degrees. Duvet was thin for the time of year. Bath, sink and toilet were clean but a very old and smelly shower curtain, made the bathroom unpleasant to be in. Receptionist was fairly quick to book me in but not friendly or welcoming.
Extremely helpful staff. Very convenient location. Execellent breakfast at nearby Wilton Arms - good value for money, lovely staff.
TV not working, no TV guide available, yet this was stated in the room literature - member of staff on duty managed to sort it out by bringing a TV from another room. She was working single-handedly and had to check in a guest whilst she was doing this. She was very pleasant and nothing seemed any trouble. No phone, yet room literature gave instructions on numbers to dial. Cleanliness not as good as previous stays. Dust and hairs in corners of room particularly the bathroom floor around the bath and behind the door - very low standard, not up to expectations, should be addressed without delay.
Clean room friendly staff very basic but good value for money.
Rooms are a bit dated and although bathroom was clean it smelt very musty. Also distance from town centre was a bit further than anticipated and cost a fair bit in public transport.
The pluses about the hotel were location, room size and facilities. Bed was large with a nice bathroom. Room was cleaned well. Free car park and wifi is also a bonus.
Reception Staff seemed disinterested but did the very basics to get by. Hotel has 3 floors and no lift. Damp smell throughout hotel.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Nice size room. Pub next door so was nice to walk over for dinner.
You could hear a lot of noise from other rooms especially a lot of creaking above us just purely from someone walking about. Would have liked the room to be a little cleaner. It was okay but just a little extra attention would have made a big difference.
We had to change room due to its poor condition. Corridors damp and smelt terribly. Extreme noise from the neighbouring rooms and could hear people talking all night. Not suitable for stay with family and needs an overall urgent refurbishment.
Friendly staff and clean room
Two single mattresses together
Liked the kingsize bed
Not fussy on the firm mattress, also pillows a bit flat , should have a couple of spare ones in cupboard, other than that was good
Would stay here again, super clean, modern room with good facilities at a very good price. Nice to have check out at 11 am.
Price, Staff, Cleanliness
good sized room quiet, excellent price x
Hotel very clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Bit further out if city centre than we thought but taxis not too expensive
The distance from city centre
Location and the beauty of the building with access to public transport.
The heater in the room needs urgent action. While the toilet and bath needs renovation to meet up with value for money.
