Everything specially the lovely en suite
Staff were wonderful
Plenty of parking and attractive outside space. Warm friendly welcome on Reception from Lynne where nothing was too much trouble plus received additional information on local area. Spacious room well equipped with extra pillows and very comfortable bed with crisp fresh linen. Clean modern bathroom with good sized towels and plenty of hot water.
The busy roundabout - although I didn't hear any traffic noise. Only 30 minutes free wi-fi then it automatically cuts off without notice. No biscuits/hot chocolate on the hospitality tray
The staff were professional and helpful. The rooms & hotel very clean and fresh. The hotel had a pleasant small restaurant serving breakfast. We had an evening meal at the Harvester restaurant next door; we had to wait as it was Saturday night, but it was excellant value.(There was a also Macdonalds and a KFC nearby)
The breakfast seemed overpriced. I could have had a cheaper breakfast at the Harvester nearby. The location is not brilliant as it is on a trading estate . We were woken up just after midnight by youths playing football on the car park of a factory unit opposite our room.
Convenient stopping spot, comfortable, good value
Reading (quickly) the hotel description before booking, I saw "Free WiFI", but this turned out to be only for 30 minutes, after which a charge was payable. When "Free WiFi" is offered, it should be for the entire stay!
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Clean and comfy room. Lovely breakfast. Quiet and peaceful area.
Nowhere to go for a walk as surrounded by busy roads, no underground or foot paths.
Fantastic staff, really friendly and helpfull. Good food.
Location meant having to drive or book local taxi well in advance and pay alot. Also shower being fixed not ideal.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful and when reAlly busy during breakfast maintained their friendly and polite manner .
Location on a busy traffic Island made foot travel difficult but staff helped my son to access alternative quick route on foot to the station.
This Premier Inn has wonderful staff who are extremely helpful and cheerful. They made our stay a real pleasure. The Inn is clean and the beds are really comfy. The breakfasts include everything you could wish for and the Harvester next door is a handy place for a reasonably priced meal at other times.
The lady on front desk with purple hair was most helpful, professional and lovely.
I've stayed at a good many Premier Inns and this one is my favourite. Has a really nice feel to it + you dont have to go to a pub accross the car park for breakfast.
The quietness. The very comfortable bed. The close proximity to my son.
Having to share one hand towel. Only one chair in the room; sofa could have been assembled as only two of us. No drawers. Toilet far too low for new hip/knee patients! That's us! Parking difficult, area always full. Skipped breakfast as only wanted toast, etc. nothing else.
Easy booking, good access.
Breakfast is expensive if you're not inclined to "fill your boots"
A perfect location for us as my brother lives close by so very handy when we want to visit.
Really helpful staff, I forgot my jacket and they have helped me (I think...as its only being picked up today) to return it via a courier. Excellent breakfast too.
Bathroom a bit too tight for my liking but plenty of hot water available.
Friendly staff, and location.
Thin walls. Didn't like listening to someone next door snoring their head off on two nights. Would not recommend nor use this place again.
Great staff and friendly
The staff are always so friendly
Very nice and polite. Helpful offering to guide on where to eat as harvesters was closed for refurb.
A little bit pricey since they do the same as across the road but £20+ more expensive
Highly recommend this Premier Inn for anyone wanting a good base from which to explore Brecon Beacons and surrounding areas. The staff were all friendly and courteous.
Nothing in particular at this hotel, but Premier Inn charging £3 per day for wifi access is too much considering most hotels provide it for free.
Welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Tea and Coffee in room. Refund policy if night is disturbed.
One night was disturbed when fighting broke out in the early hours of the morning, between wedding party guests staying at the Hotel.
1) The staff member’s description of the location "...on an island in the middle of a dual carriageway...” 2) Leaving on the last day....albeit a tad long winded - having to wait for another taxi...due to lack of any [e.g. roadside] footpath access to anywhere…
The economical with truth Booking.com hotel description:- "Expect comfortable rooms with luxury power showers at the Premier Inn Pontypool, which has free parking and is close to Pontypool and New Inn Rail Station." 1) Yes it was "close to Pontypool and New Inn Rail Station." as the crow flies across a motorway style dual carriageway with no signs let alone footpaths from the totally unmanned, facility less single island platform station with the sole subway exit on the wrong side for both Pontypool town and the hotel too…No very welcoming [or safe] when arriving on your own in the early evening and unfamiliar with the area… 2) The only [trunk] access roads in the immediate vicinity of the hotel were without footpaths and many of the lights were switched off at night too. 3) Naturally no bus service went anywhere near the hotel or even the fast food restaurant complex on another "island" further along the motorway style dual carriageway [with no obvious footpaths to this other isolated area either...]. 4) So to get to or from anywhere like a decent town centre inn or restaurant [as opposed to the pseudo pub one from the same brewery chain] or other facility e.g. even a bus stop required non-too cheap taxis…. 5) Yes the rooms each had [not that powerful], “power showers” but all apparently lacked the key Premier House feature of a bath….. 6) Breakfast was a tad longwinded, including a bit of a wait for the cooked food, with the orange juice repeatedly running out, although the toaster did work....
From the momment we arrived to the momment we left the staff were brilliant, without exception. Although the train station isn't in a dirrect walking line, the staff pointed out a pleasent walking route which took you onto the canal and then to the train station, 15mins, lovely and worth doing. Will definately revisit again and the Harvester also highly rated. Many thanks
