This historic country inn has delicious food and luxury rooms. It is within a few miles of the famous Celtic Manor Resort, home of the 2010 Ryder Cup. The Old Barn Inn dates back to the early 1750s.

Score from 290 reviews Very good
The reception staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful. Second to none.
The only thing that disappointed was that the extra childs bed was incredibly uncomfortable with springs poking through and there was only a double sheet, folded in half and draped on the top. My child couldn't get to sleep on it so my husband had to sleep there and he had a terrible night.
Staff friendly. Refund on part of the meal.
Food below a chargeable standard. On bringing this to the attention of staff there was no surprise expressed. The batter on my fish has large pieces of old burnt batter embedded in the fresh batter. The answer that came back was "we could do another for you but the same result would be likely". Makes me question the freshness of the fryer and the cleaning regime.
No wifi connection. Water power in shower dismal
Good all round facilities with nearby Sainsburys to get early morning paper etc.
Comfortable bed, in a good sized room. Ensuite clean and well fitted.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Not good for getting wifi
First stay at a Premier Inn. Very impressed and will use them again
The outside signs were not illuminated so that although our satnav took us to the location we drove on because we couldn't see it in the dark. Staff told us they had reported it several times but it still hadn't been fixed. Not good.
Reliable accommodation and friendly staff. Staff in the restaurant at breakfast were helpful and efficient.
The restaurant let down the accomodation. In the evening - early, 7pm, we were made to feel as if they were ready to close. The floor was left covered in food debris, tables were reset on top of the mess.
room was perfect. very clean, modern, very comfy bed, blackout curtains, spotlessly clean bathroom and great shower. only 1 small grumble only 1 set of towels left in room on both days despite it being a double. Excellent breakfast next door at brewers fayre.
Only enough tea/coffee for 1 cup each in the morning. No fridge in the room. No lift to first level.
Bed very uncomfortable, nothing like the advert, informed the staff when we checked out.
Friendly and helpful staff
Despite trying very hard was not able to use or log onto the wifi.but our money was refunded without asking. Also only Luke warm water in wash basin not easy to shave.
Power of shower it was terrible had to run round the bath to get wet, was adjacent to reception an the door banged contentiously from 5 am, room was cold and could not turn up
Good location and comfortable room.
Non opening windows. Lack of facilities for smokers. Connecting door to another room.
Asked for a quite room as i was doing nightshift got a room that there was building work outside spent 3 days and had no sleep would never stay there again spoke to someone who replied they should have been finished last week sorry that did not help me i know hotels mainly cover b&b customers but do try and think about others even with a door hanger on saying i am a night worker someone still knocked on the door
I love staying at Premier when i go to visit Portishead, the staff a extremely friendly as are the staff at the pub next door
As ever beds extremely comfortable. Cleanliness excellent. Reception staff very friendly
Car park very busy on arrival largely due to popularity of adjoining pub.
Lack of free wifi in hotel
The two ladies on reception were amazing, they couldn't do enough to make us and the children feel welcome. Room was perfect and very comfortable. Breakfast was great.
The room was very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We will definitely go back again!
great location - a good friendly staff
Building work started early - hotel is building an extension The pub next door is adequate - but you could not say more than this!
Ideal location for what we wanted to see and do
For a business stay this hotel ticks all the boxes of a clean welll staffed and very comfortable bed/night's sleep
I guess that for a holiday stay it is very basic.
The staff were brilliant!!
Handy for visiting family and other amenities
Bit pricey for overnight stay but good quality nonetheless
It was good to have the help that was asked for from the staff of the hotel they also gave us good advise on directions too an important function we were given good advice on what the area had too offer us
We would have preferred an hotel nearer Bristol unfortunately there were no vacancies anywhere else. The only fault we had was it was too far from the function we needed to attend
