Very welcoming greeting from Emma on the front desk after an 8 hour drive. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. A nice quiet hotel. I would like to see maybe a restaurant kitchen serving times at the reception to the hotel. As we did go over at 20:10 to get food on Good Friday to see a "kitchen Closed sign". We were allowed to place our order though and were very grateful but we could have come earlier if we knew before the kitchen was closing early.

The sole vending machine in the hotel was empty. There are no phones available for use in the rooms, so we couldn't ring our family which lived just a few minutes away.

Rooms accommodate a family of 4... 2 kids 2 adults easily fit into one room comfortably, with enough beds to go round. Smelly! As soon as you leave the Reception area there is a very strong smell of dampness... with the aroma continuing into our bedroom... but mainly the bathroom area. Quite unpleasant. Wouldn't have been a very happy lady had I had to stay longer that our one night.

Location near Blackpool. The facilities near by ie pub and food Leaking bath tap. Dripping all night. I informed the management as I left as it was a weekend . They would not have been able to fix it quickly.

I rarely reply to these but have to say value for money and clean, staff friendly and very helpful, we stayed budget as we just needed a bed whilst attending our daughter's graduation, so perfect even if basic. The reception staff were very helpful and the location was quiet and easy for Preston/Blackpool/ Lancashire countryside. I would like if the bathroom could have had some complimentary shower gel/shampoo as the soap pump was not ideal. Also breakfast was edible but could have been better, I did not complain as the staff were very friendly and helpful, trying thir best but the cooked breakfast especially just needs a little attention.

Near to People we were visiting, easy access. Member of staff who helped us by moving our room was very good and polite. Have stayed at Preston West last year, but this time had to ask to change rooms due to the smell at the back of the hotel. Bedding was clean but room was 'grubby' especially around light switches and around edge of room.

There was some confusion concerning our booking on arrival, but the staff were friendly and helpful and quickly sorted it out. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, the view from the window was of woodland as it was at the back of the hotel. Very pleasant. The hotel itself looked a bit tired and shabby, it needed a new coat of paint especially the windowframes. We had booked Premier Inn at Preston West so we could attend the Open golf at Royal Lytham. We had to leave early in the morning and as breakfast was set at 8am we had to leave hungry. A bit of flexibility would have been nice, if just a bowl of cereal and jug of milk.

The Lea Gate pub was close by and offered good service for drinks / snacks on the day of arrival and for breakfast on the next day. Huge confusion over which room to be allocated to us & resulted in us being given the key to a room which contained someone else's belongings! (good job we are honest people!) Next key to room 17 on the ground floor had such a terrible stench of damp that there was no way we could have slept in it. Final foom was OK. Entire process took 40 minutes which was a tad frustrating as all our family were sat waiting for us!

Wonderful comfy beds, clean warm quiet and relaxing. Perfectly excellent value for money. My only mini niggle was that there was litttle salad or fresh fruit and veg on the menu, I missed that.

Bed very comfortable. Nice to have choice of feather / foam pillows. Breakfast good value for money. We did not think this was good value for money having stayed at pubs for bed and breakfast with far superior facilities for less money. We realise the price was hugely inflated due to the Open being held at Lytham. This was the reason we were there otherwise would not pay £175 for this standard of accommodation. Did not like all the music/ TVs in the pub.
