Food in the pub was lovely
Room was dated, bath was stained with black grime and tiling was dirty. Found a dirty nit comb on too of the wardrobe where the "clean" pillows were, toilet was smelly, all I could smell through the night was stale urine, very tired in need of make over would not stay again
Location in lovely park.Quiet. Smart room. Pleasant Dining room.
Rushed every morning to finish our breakfast!
The meals were good value and the room was spacious.
The only disappointment was the hard mattress. Uncomfortable sleep.
Very friendly staff will always stay in this hotel when on business; the bedrooms are very comfortable and clean. The food evening meal and breakfast are well cocked and presented well.
It was all good
Easy to reach room very clean and polite staff
No remote control in room when asked for one was told that they would bring to room waited a hour to find they forgot about me also there was a lot of noise due to a wedding which this hotel hosts
we returned a cooked breakfast as it was either burnt (scrambled eggs) or soaked in grease ... the girl came back with a new breakfast with the same issues and told us "it was the way it was" .. sorry but this is unacceptable as i have used premier inn on many occasions in various locations and i have never had any complaints .. bit of a shame as everything else was good ..
The location was good. Tucked away but on the edge of town.
the staff, the food, the service all excellent. Wonderful location and great surroundings
The hotel looks tired and needs decorating, the carpets are all on the move! and the plumbing is dangerous............hot water burns and the cold water tap was reluctant to work, difficult to get temperature right in the shower.
Helpful staff (stored our bikes for us), good location for centre of Wakefield and Barbara Hepworth museum.
The location, staff and restaurant were all first class. Location is set in a small parkland. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant - we had very nice meals, plenty of choice. Better than some bistro's.
No lifts. Could be a problem for those that are not able to manage stairs very well.
Lovely historic main building and grounds. Room was fine and food was good.
Restaurant staff were ok, but many of them stuck to the script too much - I don't want to be asked repeatedly if my meal is fine, I'd tell you if not the first time.
I love the hotel is in the park so wonderful and green and at one with nature. A fantastic restaurant situated literally next door. I often stop in this venue, not the cheapest in the area but for me perfect. I was born in Wakefield so this particular park was a favorite haunt. Just love it. Room 21 is great because it has french doors that open slightly. Rooms are spacious Ns usually clean. Soap and shower gel/towels all provided :)
I do not like that when a wedding or celebration out in the marque is on the music is on till 12midnight and can be heard in some of the rooms. You could always enquire in advance? This is not central if you do not have a car, a 15 min walk from a train station, cabs are reasonable though, around £3.50 to the hotel. Buses are close by but do not run that frequently. I get cans everywhere because there is two if us and so basically the same price as the bus. I think you can buy a Metro ticket that gives you cheaper bus travel, maybe from a newsagents?
Lenny was right !! It was the best night's sleep I have had in years due to ill health. I have noted what make the pillows were so I can buy some for home I can't tell you in words how comfortable the pillows made me and a difference it has made to my life, I thank you for that reason alone. The place was so relaxed just what we needed and the staff were polite and friendly, the food was great can't fault our stay in any way would definitely visit again just to get away and for no other reason. The grounds it's set in is amazing so chilled feels like you are in a different world even though just a few hours up the road. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so welcoming Mr & Mrs Brennan
the room was spacious, clean and quiet. the shower worked well and the internet was good (£3 for the day)
the restaurant (in an annexed pub which is clearly in partnership with the hotel) was one of the worst I've ever eaten in. I ate the 'mini grill' for dinner and had a full breakfast. although it was relatively cheap, almost every item was awful. the meat in particular (liver, bacon, sausage, lamb, pork) was shocking ... dry as a bone, tasteless, sometimes actually bitter or even tasting like it had gone off.
Everything was excellent from booking in and being given a very nice welcome to leaving the next day
The Location was Lovely and the Building was Stunning.
Good location Comfortable beds The 'Good Night's Sleep' guarantee - we were woken by the fire alarm at 4.15 am and had our night's charge refunded without any quibble
Breakfast service on day 1 was poor. Breakfast is served from 8am - we arrived shortly after and the doors were closed. when the waitress came she said "We don't open until 8". We asked "what time is it?" reply: "Just after 8"!!
This particular Premier Inn had a great location with very nice, helpful and efficient staff. The restaurant was also great, and we had a fab full English breakfast which was speedily served for a table of 9 'on a schedule'!
The bathrooms don't seem to be very well ventilated, so there is a rapid build up of steam, when showering, that makes the whole bathroom damp and wet, especially the floor! And unfortunately with the sign on the door asking you not to leave the bathroom door open (due to the steam setting off the smoke detectors), this meant you could not easily fix this problem. Because of this, more bath mats are needed to help with the very wet, slippery floor, especially when there are 4 of you ....one tiny, thin one is not adequate!
Good location as we were attending a wedding next door
Have stayed here many times over the years. Good location and in the past has been excellent. BUT now the hotel is looking tired. The corridor carpets are stretched and rippled, on suite bathroom tiles replaced with odd ones, towel rails not working. Still a nice place to stay but now 'fair' not the 'very good' it used to be.

Really nice place and people
Bed sheets were damp and beds were hard and when someone is walking around in the room on top of yours you can hear everything
The polite helpful receptionist who at 1.30 in the morning was more than happy to get extra pillows. The restaurant and breakfast.
No soap, toilet roll holder falling off the wall and general sad state of the bathroom.
The food was good. The bed was comfortable.
We were in a disabled room. There were no power points near the bed for medical equipment to be plugged in to. The bathroom should be a wet room area as I believe a lot of disabled persons would not be able to get into the bath. Also the toilet did not flush as the handle wash broken.
At least the breakfast area/restaurant was jollu
Marquee erected right outside family rooms blocking views of the lawns Dark dingy rooms Smelt of old smoke Ambivalent staff attitude
Noisy people in room above disturbing us as soon as we got into room till we left,no other room available so we had to either leave or stay so we had to stay.We received free breakfast wanted a quiet room preferably
