I used to live in Witney.
I used to live in Witney. Came back to London, where I was born & raised, 15 years ago but my father & children (err, all mid-late 30's) live in that area, so I visit regularly. Summer, The Fleece for lunch outside overlooking the Green. Taxi to Hailey since The Bird in Hand is special. There is the blanket museum because it's a bit of a give away that Witney has a wool exchange, a mill and a history! Plenty of walks & fresh air. Almost forgot, Roman ruins https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-57510142

Witney is a great little town.
Witney is a great little town. Parking in West Oxon is free in all council car parks - a rarity these days. So many places to visit - Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, Cogges Farm Museum, Blenheim Palace... it goes on. Many cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants in town. Independent shops in Witney and nearby villages/towns. It's just lovely.

Witney is a lovely little town, although the roads were very busy and noisy until you reached the quieter, traffic-restricted area in the centre. It has a wide range of places to eat and drink and a good selection of shops - chain and independent. We were very disappointed with the attitude of staff at The Plough, as we were refused a menu, even though others were ordering and eating, our drinks order wasn't completed fully and I was accused of being rude when I asked for both matters to be resolved. Needless to say, we didn't stay. San Marzano, just further down the High Street, was the complete opposite - food and service exemplary.

Witney was a stop to our air show destination. Pub, great.
Witney was a stop to our air show destination. Pub, great. Parking, not so. Restaurant menu over pretentious.
Loved the welcome. Unfortunately lights within room not working/ useless, air .com unit didn't respond. No instructions for coffee machine. A lot of style over substance.

Great place.
Great place. Very Central, close to Oxford, not too far from Stratford, and so on. Friendly, town. Could be a bit more friendly, can't say it's exactly Wholesome and Quint. But it is a nice old town with a good vibe of its own.

The centre of Witney is easy and pleasant to walk around,...
The centre of Witney is easy and pleasant to walk around, with a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes all easily accessible. There are frequent buses to Oxford (for colleges, museums, main railway connections, etc) and Woodstock (for Blenheim Palace). There is also a regular bus service across the Cotswolds to Cheltenham. Road access to Cotswold villages, walks and scenery is very good.
Whitney was a perfect base for our 6 days exploring the Cotswolds. It was near Oxford and within easy driving distance to the many picturesque villages nearby.
Our apartment was at the mill/commercial end of Witney, but we were able to walk the historical centre, supermarket, restaurants and pubs. We valued having en site parking.
The apartment was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
Everything was excellent such a shame I only started to stay here at the end of my course as id been in the premier inn until now, and this hotel blows the Premier Inn out of the water!! Amazing room, food and great extras such as coffee making machine in room and Netflix. the manager David even let me check in from 10am instead of 3 pm so that I could spend the day working on course work. Will be back for sure :)
Witney is a lovely place to visit. sadly due to covid it’s lost quite a few shops. it is also unique because it has managed to keep independent shops. it is quite a number of years sinceI said in The Blue Boar and I was fortunate enough to stay in the annex which was nice and private.
All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were lovely. Great location, a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area where there were plenty of places to eat and drink. Witney is a pretty town with good facilities. Comfortable bed and powerful shower.
Location. Excellent place for exploring the Cotswolds, Witney and Oxford. Leafield church is also worth visiting. Lots of space in the room. Host very friendly and helpful e.g. booking a table at the local pub (very good food!)
I liked the decorating-very cute. I liked the off street parking space. pillows were comfortable.kitchen stocked with plates. apartment was clean and tidy. couch comfortable and seating area really nice. wifi excellent.
We have used this hotel several times and like the location. Access to swimming pool but it's small; use of sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was welcome. Witney is a 5 minute drive away and has free parking.
The hotel had lots of character. The bedding, towels and bathroom were clean. The beds were very comfy. The staff were very helpful and attentive, the breakfast was lovely and the location was excellent
Beautiful garden setting, excellent location to explore the area, the owner/host is lovely and she makes you feel right at home. Plus she’s provides a delicious cooked to order breakfast!
The house is perfect for a Witney stay, very central but with parking, just a few mins walk to shops & cafes. The house itself is lovely, beautifully laid out and very well equipped.
A pleasant stay at a hotel within reasonable distance from the location of business meetings in Witney and will probably be used again for future occasions.
Lovely spacious room, comfy big bed, easy access, host was just lovely!
For our night out in Witney this place was perfect for us. Clean and comfortable!
