The restaurant at the hotel served great and reasonable breakfasts. Dinner and lunch menu and after dinner drinks were excellent. Location was near the train station and it was a nice 10 minute walk to the town centre. Peaceful location as well. Security to get to room access for guests was great.
Check in and check out counter was manned by only one person and though efficient, if a crowd gathered, there would be a pile up.
Really good service not that far from center
The location was an excellent base for exploring York. Close to train station and town centre.
Location. Excellent check-in staff.
1) Empty soap, bath, and hair gel dispenser sachets. Not because they were empty (they could be refilled) but because it indicated a less-than-perfect attention to detail in housekeeping. 2) In this day and age, one shouldn't be charged extra for WiFi.
1. Very comfortable and quiet room. 2. Friendly and efficient staff. 3. Good location for York centre.
1. Parking arrangements at this particular hotel are inadequate. The car park is also too expensive. Guests should not have to pay extra to park a car at a hotel. 2. WIFI should be complementary to hotel guests. It's the 2nd time this year I've been stung for this. It is unlikely I will stay at ANY Premier Inn again until this flagrant overcharge is removed. There are plenty more hotels out there that don't scam their customers for internet access.
The location 5 minutes walk from the station was great. A comfortable room.
The remote control didn't work for the TV and despite reporting it, it wasn't fixed. A small thing though in an otherwise good hotel
I have stayed at premier inns a lot at different locations but at blossom st south 3 times and the only part I dont particularly like is the ajoining resturaunt. On my first visit we waited quite a while to be served as no one behind counter then were told on asking for a coffee that it was getting cleaned and would be at least a hour My second visit we waited ages as once again no one behind counter My third time we just didnt attempt to have a meal or drinks and im sure other customers are the same and loss custom is inevitable, which is a shame as the rest of the hotel is almost perfect
Helpful staff and ease ov checking in.
Strong cleaning chemical smell in room.
Kind and friendly staff gave useful information for day tour and nearby locations for eating and drinking. Also helped to keep my stuff in the fridge.
Nowadays a fridge or at least a minibar is a definite must for a decent accommodation. You can't push guests into your standard or whatever.
Good size room Clean Very comfortable bed No noise heard from other rooms Staff friendly Breakfast lovely
There was no soap on the sink (it was empty). We asked the recepcionist, Joane, who told us she would provide it to be refilled. We went out and at the evening, when we came back, there was still no soap on the sink. So we went to the shower. Again, no soap. Can anyone imagine how great it is to be in the shower at 11 PM with no soap neither on the shower nor on the sink, on a room with no telefone? Other terrible thing is breakfast. Lots of people, big lines, and the staff refiilling the buffet with their hands and no gloves!!!
Toilet was not clean enough and some used towels were found in the bathroom.
First time at a Premier Inn who offor a "Great sleep guarantee" and that is exactly what we had. Friendly, helpful staff.
friendly, helpful reception very comfortable beds well sound-proofed room good location
Generally very friendly and helpful staff. Good bar area. Good breakfast. Very convenient location for Town, Station and Racecourse. Good sized room.
Member of staff who booked us in looked under pressure and consequently slightly sharp. Relatively high charge for a Premier Inn. Only 30 free minutes per day Wi-Fi and poor mobile & WI-Fi signal. Very late daily postal delivery which could be rectified if a fee was paid for an early delivery.
Comfortable and spacious room. Good bar and breakfast. Staff generally very friendly and helpful on the North and South receptions. Special compliment to the receptionist at the North desk, very friendly and enthusiastic. She obviously really enjoyed her job.
One member of staff a little sharp when we booked in at South reception. She was admitedly under pressure from the queue at the time. It was Ebor week at York but the prices were high for a Premier Inn.
Proximity to railway station and downtown. Quiet as long as your room isn't on the same side as the pub next door. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
I realize that most people carry mobiles now, but if you have overseas guests or older seniors, it is imperative that a phone be available in the rooms. Also, a towel rack in the bathroom and somewhere to hang up your clothes, other than from knobs attached to the wall would be helpful.
The location was good and the lady at our hotel reception where we stayed was very helpful and professional at her job. Infact all your employees were friendly and helpful.
We had a long walk with heavy bags to our hotel room.
Location close to train station. Pleasant 10 minute walk to town centre. Very comfortable bed & pillows. Spacious & clean room. Pleasant, helpful staff.
Breakfast area could be reorganised to make it more efficient.
Ease of checking in. Clean room and comfortable.
Limited parking, no guarantee about getting a space. Possibly need to label south clearer, like north
The friendly service was great!
When booking you don't know if it is the old or new building ! I was disappointed to be shoved into the modern one....pity!
As a mature couple, we found the room, service, and included (in our package) breakfast very good. The Inn is a short walk from the city hub and Railway Museum. Also, as we travelled by train, is handy to the station. Would definitely return if we were ever in that neck-of-the-woods again. Tom Wilson (Canada).
Like many European hotels in prime time we found the room cost (with breakfast) made us suck in our breath but they weren't out-of-line with other hotels.
Comfortable beds and very clean. Staff very helpfull.
Staff we're very helpful , rooms large and spacious . Will be back
Having to wait a while checking in as there was only one small desk .
the cleanliness of the place. the bar and restaurant facilities were good.
I didn't like the soap dispenser in the shower, it didn't foam very well and made my hair dry like straw. I also tossed and turned till 2am, as i only had one very low pillow. I ended up rolling up a damp towel to prop my head up.
