Set in a beautiful 15th-century building, White Hart Hotel boasts a courtyard terrace and a traditional restaurant. The charming hotel is in Coggeshall, just a 15 minute drive from Colchester.

The location and setting were nice. Its a very picturesque place from the outside.
The smell of "food" coming up into our room from the kitchens. I don't know what they were cooking but it smelled very unappetizing. The uneven poorly lit stairs leading to our room. My wife slipped on these agravating an injury she had. The toilet ran all night.
Comfy beds, lovely night porter, great pool, relaxing ambience.
Stairs (attic room), Low ceiling beams (Ouch!), not much else - pretty damn fine.
Welcoming helpful staff, lovely rooms, great shower, good quality pillows, homemade biscuits and other extras. Restaurant food was good..
Separate restaurant - shame not to eat in the lovely main building.
We found Prested Hall an excellent place to stay, with all that you want to have a relaxing time. We stayed in the Dingles, which was seperate from the main hall, but found it to be a home from home, with it's own outdoor space. We would recommend that you stay here if you want to unwind and take in the lovely surrounding and the local village of Feering.
the whole hotel was clean, comfy, spacious and welcoming. Unfortunately we picked a bank holiday so no evening meal but breakfast was super.
Only downside was the piped music through the hotel beginning at 7.00 a.m,
Nice quiet hotel Very Comfy bed and an excellent breakfast.
The estate grounds made for a grand entrance after my dull day. I was met by smart and courteous staff who quickly made me feel at home and then led me to my room. Fabulous cotton sheets, a spotless bathroom and endless piping hot water ensured the label of a luxury room did not disappoint. After a peaceful night's sleep I made my way to the lounge where I enjoyed a superb breakfast overlooking the fine lawns and parkland trees. Thoroughly recommended.
Helpful staff,a great welcome. Every member of staff we came into contact with was helpful, professional and could not do enough to help us. Loved the handmade biscuits and good coffee in our room. Breakfast was a feast.
That we arrived late and had to leave early the next morning. No time to enjoy all the facilites.
Great staff great location
The room felt as though you were immersed in the history of the house with tastefully decorated walls to match the existing tiles and older features. The bedding was excellent and bathroom linens of good quality. The bathroom was clean and well laid out with modern fittings. The location was peaceful and the garden picturesque. The staff were friendly, receptive and informative.
The mattress was collapsed at one side. Given the wrong room from that booked on Booking.com. The spa buildings were not in keeping with the hotel and I didn't like having to walk across a car park to go for evening meal in the spa, that just seemed ridiculous. The evening meal was cooked and presented well but the portions were small and choice limited. The range of wines available were over priced and very very limited. The only draught beer was tetleys smooth and the rest all bottles or cans. The rooms also lacked things like an ironing board and iron which seem to be available in most hotels of this standard.
Staff very friendly and upgraded us as they had a double and we'd booked a twin as all that was left on booking.com. Lovely swimming pool and sauna.
No restaurant in hotel - but the restaurant attached to the leisure centre was excellent. Great food and reasonable price.
On the road towards our holiday destination Friendly staff, comfy beds and beautiful surroundings
I don't think we will ever get used to carpets in the bathroom (not in toilet, though)
Nothing we left 20 minutes after arriving which even meant losing 1 nights charge for 2 rooms.
The smell in the room smelt like a nursing home. The leisure couldn't be used during the week by teenage kids. The staff weren't accommodating at all.
Pure luxury, had an upgrade to The Dingle, a separate private lodge building / apartment, so wasn't staying in main hotel. Helpful attentive staff. I normally don't spend this much but £95 seemed very good value. Fresh flowers in room, home baked biscuits on tea tray, spacious grounds. Owls at night. Very nice dinner.
Music was a bit loud at breakfast. That's the only minor fault.
beautiful grounds, lovely attention to detail, really good coffee in the rooms (hooray!!)
Proper Coffee in the rooms. Comfortable bed Excellent Bathrooms
The intermittent wifi.
Location was lovely and main building was well appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room had no proper shower and was by a very busy (and noisy) staff entrance. Bistro was a hall around corner in gym with a very limited menu and average quality food.
Very good value two course evening meal in the health club bar. Large, very comfortable bed. Interesting building, which retains many period features.
Lack of jacuzzi in spa.
Everything, Its one of the nicest places to stay, would recommend this hotel to anyone
Hotel reception manager was excellent, friendly and helpful. Beds and pillows are legendary and match any in many World class business hotels I have stayed in including Four Seasons, Sydney and Westin Bund , Shanghai
Scrambled eggs made from powder, I make scrambled eggs several times a week from fresh eggs, yours are crumbly and granular which gave the game away
Quiet but convenient location Traditional furnishings Excellent breakfast Friendly staff
Facilities for dining are poor Is mainly set up for weddings so a bit compromised as a hotel No wi-fi in bedroom
extremely friendly and efficient staff-nothing was too much trouble
Previous reviews relating to poor Wi-Fi was not an issue for us, reception was excellent in both bedroom and other areas, (which is more than can be said for mobile phone reception, which was poor). All staff were attentive, breakfast was excellent, bedding most comfy. Pool and facilities first class. Highly recommended.
Lack of restaurant might be an issue for some, but there are excellent pubs within striking distance serving superb meals using local produce
friendly accommodating staff. Our room had quality linen, toiletries and eta?coffee making facilities. we were allowed to check in early, which was a bonus. Breakfast was of a high standard. Lots of information about the hall and local area. we ate in the Bistro and thought it good value
