Unless you read the details, which I didn't, you'll miss that the restaurant is shut on weekend evenings. Unfortunate!
Really lovely place, friendly and comfortable
Really difficult to get there by foot from nearest station as no cabs. May want to consider transport for guests or partnership with local cab firm
Tea tray with a teapot and cafetière! Peaceful atmosphere with pleasant, relaxing music. Friendly and helpful staff. Very large and comfortable bed, great bathroom.
We were allocated the wrong room, which was changed when we asked since the booked one was vacant. No fresh flowers or bathrobes as expected but probably due to the above.
The bathroom to this attic room is very nice, with a separate shower. The room rate included an evening meal which was very good.
The bed was too soft for me and was a standard double size.
Had an amazing couple of nights at Prested Hall. Arranged a surprise get together for my mums 80th Birthday and the staff, in particular the manager Gareth, could not do enough to make sure all went well for us -despite the hotel being very busy with festive parties. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel and will definitely return in the future.
Prested Hall is probably one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The setting and hotel itself are really lovely. All the staff were professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Our stay at prested hall was excellent.fab beds very friendly staff.food spot on.booked for 1 night but so impressed stayed 2.rooms very nice.will go again. Lovely birthday treat.
Having to leave but all good things come to an end.
20m swimming pool good. We both had a massage, which was very good. Gluten free bread & rolls provided at breakfast. Dietary requirements also catered for at dinner. Lovely setting and beautiful building.
No jacuzi. No grapefruit at breakfast.
the room the bed the breakfast
waiting to be greeted at the reception on arrival Then being driven mad by Alice who does not stop talking, then standing at the bar to get a drink, when i was the only one at the bar Then waiting for a cab she had ordered for nearly a hour, with alice telling us it was the only one that would come to the hotel, then after 20 mins i asked Alice how long would the cab be and she told me she had not asked, In the end I called them when the cab finally arrived and took us to town I was gob smacked to be charged £13 for 3 mins to town, When it was only £4 back I think she must have shares in the cab firm from witham
The most comfortable beds ever in a homely & traditional family room. Beautiful views and a freshly cooked English breakfast...what more could we ask for!
Friendliness of the staff, and a lovely setting.
Afternoon tea was lovely. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Bed in our superior room was huge! 6ft. Very helpful, attentive staff. In room facilities were fab!! Huge, very clean and elegant bathroom. View of duck pond was nice. Massage at the spa was great! - 20% discount if you stay at hotel.
Pool was quite basic. Pool & spa was in a separate building. Comparing this to a place like Clarice house its nice to walk about everywhere in a robe and slippers and everything be under 1 roof, but this did not put us off our stay! Not a huge problem to wander across the lot.
Slightly old-fashioned country home but just what you would expect. Breakfast was very impressive.
Can be difficult to get to
My husband and I renewed our wedding vows here a year ago and it was amazing. With the help of the very efficient team headed by Jill it was perfect. One year later everything still perfect. Staff, food quality, comfort 10/10
Having to leave!
Bed was huge and comfortable and was extremely comfortable if reading in bed as we do.The setting is very quiet and peaceful and the grounds were very pleasant and walking round the grounds at the rear of the property was very pleasant.
Mattress was too soft for my particular taste, it was memory foam topped and was very comfortable. I need a firm mattress and I did not even think to ask about this when booking, my fault really.........
What can I say....... everything. .... didn't want to leave
The location and setting were nice. Its a very picturesque place from the outside.
The smell of "food" coming up into our room from the kitchens. I don't know what they were cooking but it smelled very unappetizing. The uneven poorly lit stairs leading to our room. My wife slipped on these agravating an injury she had. The toilet ran all night.
Comfy beds, lovely night porter, great pool, relaxing ambience.
Stairs (attic room), Low ceiling beams (Ouch!), not much else - pretty damn fine.
The hotel is a bit out-of-the way but the grounds are great and there is a comfortable lounge. Our standard room was a bit snug but characterful in a good way. Good wi fi. Staff friendly and mostly helpful.
The hotel restaurant was not operating when we were there midweek. The bistro menu at the associated health club was limited, and as an older couple we did not feel very welcome. We were ushered to a table in a corner out of sight of the members. I had a severely over-cooked kipper at breakfast (more like a kipper-flavoured biscuit). When I mentioned this, staff said "they do get a bit hard don't they".
Welcoming helpful staff, lovely rooms, great shower, good quality pillows, homemade biscuits and other extras. Restaurant food was good..
Separate restaurant - shame not to eat in the lovely main building.
We found Prested Hall an excellent place to stay, with all that you want to have a relaxing time. We stayed in the Dingles, which was seperate from the main hall, but found it to be a home from home, with it's own outdoor space. We would recommend that you stay here if you want to unwind and take in the lovely surrounding and the local village of Feering.
the whole hotel was clean, comfy, spacious and welcoming. Unfortunately we picked a bank holiday so no evening meal but breakfast was super.
Only downside was the piped music through the hotel beginning at 7.00 a.m,
Nice quiet hotel Very Comfy bed and an excellent breakfast.
The estate grounds made for a grand entrance after my dull day. I was met by smart and courteous staff who quickly made me feel at home and then led me to my room. Fabulous cotton sheets, a spotless bathroom and endless piping hot water ensured the label of a luxury room did not disappoint. After a peaceful night's sleep I made my way to the lounge where I enjoyed a superb breakfast overlooking the fine lawns and parkland trees. Thoroughly recommended.
