Warm welcome from staff even prior to arrival they helped with arranging to park my trailer. Rooms clean and comfortable- slept very soundly. Breakfast v good (but could perhaps be bigger). Then again my waistline needs protection Excellent value
Price Close to the town and the sea
Very basic No hair dryers Carpets had filthy marks on them Carpets were used up of old off cuts which can be dangerous
Excellent location right on the sea front. Friendly, helpful and efficient manager and staff. This all made for an enjoyable stay and I would definately stay there again.
The Manager who was very friendly, very conscientious and made sure you were happy with your stay.
The fact that I ordered Egg Salad and was served Ham because 'Egg is not on the menu'. That I asked for onion on my salad and was told it would come with it already on. Had two tiny little slivers and when showed it to the Head Waitress she laughed and said that there had been plenty on salad the night before.
Staff very helpful. Good breakfasts and evening meals. The entertainment night was great and encouraged guests to join in dancing. Overall good value.
Shower room could do with an update but was adequate. Shelf here would be helpful and a couple of hooks for clothes.
This was a really well run hotel in a beautiful location. It is a step back to the 70's in terms of decor and feel, but for me that was part of the charm. There was just one sitting time for breakfast which was 0830, which was fine. The rooms we had were fairly small but adequate and were clean. The hotel was managed by Eddie and Brian and they were both really welcoming. This is a 2* hotel so I was not expecting a massive amount, so I was pleasantly surprised with its cleanlines, friendliness and its beautiful location which was priceless. A really really enjoyable stay and great value for money.
Nothing really, for a 2* hotel it was exactly as I would have expected in terms of facilities etc but again the location made up for the fact that I would have perhaps liked a more powerful shower!
Everything. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was adequate and clean, a few marks on the carpet that could be covered with a rug but otherwise faultless.
Views Staff Room Plenty of parking Food
Regimented meals Odd room numbers and table seating
Friendly staff, evening entertainment, quite area, good parking.
Only booked two days before break and were given a large room overlooking the sea with a balcony. Breakfast very good. Entertainment in the bar on both evenings and prices of the beer on par with my local so could not complain.
Nice location by the sea. Good breakfast. Nice for families and old people.
Acceptable but not amazing standard of rooms - everything quite old (but usual british standard of not high end accomodation). Single room was small.
Excellent accommodation, Service from staff was second to none, our stay couldn't have been better. Food was great, bar staff very friendly, accommodation was spotlessly clean, the hotel manager was very supportive, helpful and interacted very well with us, will book here again.
Can't fault this place
Location, Room 3, Lift that worked, friendliness of all staff,
When a Bus arrived it took over almost all of the parking, instead of parking opposite side of road. Leaving little space for other travellers
The staff was very welcoming, fab breakfast easy to find, amazing view
why not stagger the times ie.7-9 instead it is a cattlemarket at 8.30 and then you wait.. for your tea, then wait ... for your toast, then another 20 min wait..... for your breakfast !!
Great position, very pleasant and responsive staff, parking.
Bathroom rather 'tired', but this probably varies from room to room. Room itself was very fresh and well presented.
good food, pleasant guests, helpful staff, nice location
small room, small en suite ,
Location, far enough away from the town, but walking distance. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Bar prices fair.
Would have like a hairdryer in room.
View from sea-facing room. Friendliness of staff. It was obvious that some people were regulars and had a friendly patter with the staff. Dining room was airy and light.
Rooms to the rear of the building were of lower standard and very small.
staff friendly on arrival, room clean fantastic view from room,10 min walk to the lively part of town would go back it was our kind of place
Loved the sea view and the position of the hotel - walking distance to Paignton and also Torquay. Staff very friendly. Nice comfortable room, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers etc. Loved the banter with dining room staff.
Breakfast was lovely, but the Ham and Eggs on offer - only 1 egg - was expecting 2 - minor detail. Evening menu - quite ordinary and starter and pud - soup - just about a ladle full and the Eton Mess - 1 small mouthfull of meringue, dollop of cream and about 2 strawberries in total. But did not spoil the visit - would call again but dine out.
We were in room33 there was a lot to be desired. Carpet was threadbare and where it was joined across the middle it was slightly raised. Thought the bed would collapse, but the headboard was screwed to the wall. Main line trains ran about 20 feet outside the window. only one bedside table. No clock in room, windows very dirty with one handle snapped off. Only one chair for two people. We actually thought it may have been a maid room Radiator was rusty. Room was not anything like illustrated TV must have been all of 20 years old if not more a little box with a 14 inch screen. Will not be going there again.
Train track approx 6 foot from bedroom window. Shower cubicle in bathroom 2foot square very small bathroom I'm 5'2 and a small size 10 and struggled in here. Went into bar on first night, barman turned telly off saying he didn't like eastenders (fair enough but could have put music on instead) kept waiting for half hour in reception on arrival after 3 hour drive, manager said he had forgot we were there. TV in bedroom was tiny and only had remote for digi box so had to get out of bed to turn tv on and off.
